Was just kind of posting it without checking the name as I had just got home earlier.

 

Hmmm... Elayne as a power absorber? Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to me, and I know this sounds cliche for her but I'd expect her to be an Inventor of some kind.

 

But, if there ends up being no CC, meh.

 

I'm Rand, I'm looking for Fain, and I can use a portal stone once and skip a day/night.

I was considering saving it for late game, but now that I've claimed it'll make me an easy target for maf.

So, sorry cop, I'm using it tonight.

I don't know what game you're playing at but throwing votes around all willy nilly like that is really suspicious.

 

I find it interesting that 2 people claim to be searching for fain, not interesting enough for a vote just interesting enough to note.

 

I wouldn't say it's really that noteworthy, considering the whole plot line of TGH revolves around trying to pursue Fain and the Horn and Dagger.

 

I will say this tho... I'm worried town might have some nerfed investigative roles, kinda like in the FF game. Basically, that we might not even have a cop, but instead some roles that try searching out certain villains and such.

 

Also, where is Sorcha? I see her upon re-read but she seems to have dissappeared.

 

I think I might have hurt her feelings by saying her avi creeped me out

 

Speaking of, I don't think I explained it before to her when she asked. It kinda creeps me out cause you can tell it's like a cgi face or something like that, but it's real enough looking to just kinda unnerve you somewhat...

I'm thinking there's many roles here, we can assume third party too, by my knowledge of advanced games, this is beyond simple

These two posts really make me think Peace and GF are scum together. First Peace votes GF, who was def starting to be all over the place, yet kind of gives him an out with the whole Mat CC thing.

 

The 2nd post frankly kind of pisses me off. I really don't like it when people bring up Jester so early in a game, or even at all. As far as I know, we've pretty much never seen the type of Jester role that ends the game if it gets lynched, so even if someone is Jester, there really shouldn't be any hesitation to lynch them to remove the wifom. So why bring it up at all? Cause it's an easy way for a mafia teammate to try and provide justification for their teammate's erratic behavior, and makes people suddenly more wary of lynching that person.

The one guy with a S that is a Darkfriend who wants to turn good, maybe?

But I'd imagine him as a traitor, not a jester...

He's also one of my favorite minor characters lol. Mainly for this line: "For the Light, and Shinowa!" It always made me giggle, it made me think that he was charging into battle with his war cry, then suddenly remembered to add something on to the end. Oh yeah, and my family name! That too! Plus if I recall correctly, he says it multiple times while having his little martyr moment fighting the Seanchan, and Rand keeps hearing it over and over. Made me think of how ridiculous it would be if they kept that scene that way in a movie version of the WOT. Broken record much?

 

Anyhoo, no I don't see him as a Jester. I bet he's in this game, but I would guess either traitor or symp if he's roled

Okay, I think I'm going to have to go back and case Des tomorrow--he constantly hints at people being the Forsaken, which is not what I'd say the game implies. The game implies more of a hunt for the horn, so I could see Lanfear in it, but that's it.

Yet on multiple occasions he hints at Forsaken. I think he knows something.

 

Check out the flavor scene from the beginning again:

 

The unthinkable has happened. Fades and Trollocs attacked Lord Agelmar's keep in Fal Dara. Darkfriends walked the halls. Padan Fain escaped with the dagger from Shadar Logoth, and the Horn of Valere was stolen.

 

The Horn and the dagger must be retrieved. Without the dagger, Mat will die. And the Horn of Valere, in the hands of the Shadow, could be catastrophic.

 

Meanwhile, rumors are whispered everywhere of ships coming from the west, ships bearing the strange invaders. Some say they are the descendants of Artur Hawkwing come back.

 

Darkfriends are hidden everywhere. Among the Aes Sedai. Among the invaders. Among Lord Agelmar's solders and people. And, even worse, the Forsaken are breaking free of their prison...

 

Underlined: Notice how it's plural? Now I don't think it's a ton of Forsaken, as I said before I think it's prob just Ishamael and Lanfear, as both have a prominent role in TGH. And honestly the way I see it, they represent the bigger threat to town. Mafia are generally easier to find as tthey have teammates that you can try and find connections to, whether it's defending or bussing a teammate, you'll almost always see connections if you look close enough. I'd imagine that the Forsaken prob have some kind of Survivor/SK type role, and will be much harder to find as they'll be happy to lurk or fade into the background. Plus, if my theory is correct, and we have two competing mafia teams, they might do a little work at taking each other out, making it that much easier for us.

Oh I forgot to add, to the part I bolded in that last quote: that really seems to support Lenlo's claim a good bit. I mean, of course we all know that Mat would have ended up dying without the dagger, but the way the scene says it so factually makes me think Lenlo is telling the truth.

 

Right now I have a town read on Player and Lenlo. Mr. Snow I'm feeling fairly confident is prob town, but there still are some question marks for me: mafia can have a phase ender as easily as town can, so even once he vets his role his alignment won't necessarily be vetted. Now, he's claiming Rand, which would seem pretty silly if he was false claiming, but you never know if he was trying to draw out the real Rand. I'm about 80-85% on him right now.

The names that stick out to me so far there are in fact all grouped up next to each other. BG, Notbob, and Tiink have all contributed very little to the game conversation. BG and Tiink I know can be a lot more active than they've shown, NotBob I don't know as well but I know he's experienced enough to be able to have thoughts and opinions about stuff that he doesn't really seem to be offering.

You think I'm brought up jestor to keep people from voting GF? No, even if he was a vetted jester I'd vote him. It's a horrible role and should be removed from a game asap. I don't care if they get a hollow victory from it. It means nothing. Once a jester is removed the scum hunting can move on without the distraction.

 

My point was wondering if GF was posting in such a strange manner on purpose which is a jester like quality I've seen in the past. You won't see me removing my vote from him unless "someone" admits they are scum.

Concerning the Jester part, maybe you are right. Consider it a case of thinking out loud. Sometimes I need to type/say something to ponder it better.

 

On your meta concern. I find it pretty natural for you to respond the way you did. Shin's response to it was interesting though.

 

TBH, EP's meta is striking me more than yours. I haven't seen any crazy game play from him yet (no emo, no wild theories). But he's been hit pretty hard about it and I'm still wondering if he is curbing his play because of pressure or because he is scum and doesn't want to be lynched early.

Not everyone is logical in mafia games, but I think that for the first few days, Town should use our logic to read into people, and you saying that you shouldn't be logical is kind of suspicious.

OK, so so far, I believe all the claims to put it shortly, and the Rand and Mat thing def fits in with the canon. Actually, now that I think about it, Elayne as a power absorber doesn't make that much sense, but I guess she was a main character, so if no one CCes, then i will believe him.
