Actually we already have alot of info, we have the same info we'd have had if the no lynch option wasnt there, because we got the "skeptical reserved" people chiming in being like hey guys wait a minute... and the "gung ho" people that are all like LETS DOOOOOO IT!!! it's all about reactions, the conditions may be different but the situation is the same... and you guys are all missing the possibility of night actions being fruitful

 

I'm not going to deny that we don't have info - you are correct when you say that it divides us up into those categories.

 

What I want to point out is the last line - night actions. I'm dividing this up into two types - the cards and then the abilities of the players. Even if the card that is drawn is good (which I have no idea if it will be or not - it's all up to chance and how Nol has the cards arranged). I get the feeling that this is what you mean, but by wording it as night actions, I get the picture that you're talking about people who can kill, protect, and what not. And the only way people will know whether night actions of the traditional sense are fruitful or not are those who have them.

Hmm. I'm gonna put my VOTE on PEACE.

 

No Lynch seems like it'd be bad for the town, and only good for the Mafia, and since Peace started the No Lynch train... yeah. I'm good with my vote here for Day One.

My biggest worry with the no lynch is that we rush to it, getting little information, and then draw a scum positive card/town negative card.

 

If we can get alittle more discussion on it along with waiting for the rest of the people to check in than I would be fine with no lynch. I want to make sure we get as much info from this as we can.

Unless more than 75% of the cards help mafia, I think no lynch is a good idea. And EP is right in that we do get info from this vote. Arez and Tress have already show up as blips on my scumdar.

^This. Like EP pointed out, there is some info - you figure out who's cautious and going to rush into it, but it doesn't give as many clues as to alignment. In this case, it's the type of vote to easily bandwagon and any party can come out looking clean.

Also, her exchange with Arez seemed a bit forced, a bit too polite, as if they were scummates trying to interact without appearing suspicious.

If you think about it, if we went for a lynch and got a townie and then another townie got nightkilled then that is two townies down very quickly. This way we can delay the onslought. On the other hand, Nolder may have made more bad cards than good cards to sort of balance the "no lynch" for that day; who knows. My personal opinion is that it's better for two townies to get killed over two day cycles than in one cycle. And as arez mentioned (I think) it's better to find out what the cards are like now than later.

 

And has anybody else noticed that Nolder has yet to tell us the deadline for day 1? Another point to raise is that if no lynch gets the overall vote, we will then have to vote for either the community chest or chance, which will take more time.

And another thing, there is very little to discuss about the No lynch feature of the game until we actually draw one of the cards; and besides whatever could have been said I think has been said already.

Yeah Andrew, I removed my vote and this is what was nagging me. At first I was curious then after thinking about it I wondered if we could be double whammied. IMO a NO LYNCH is always a bad idea cause you don't get any voting info. Then on top of that if we draw a bad card we are hurt further. So to me that looks like 2 bad possibilities versus 1 good possibility. Depending how many good cards there are and their strength it might be a horrible proposition.

 

On the other hand, if it's going to be done...day 1 is the time to do it. As Day 1 is the time it would be easiest to recover from a bad card. Doing it late game could be devastating.

We don't know what will happen if we vote no lynch, so "2 versus 1" isn't what it's about. We'll probably lose a town if we lynch someone day 1. Maybe we'll get some info if we draw the right card? The finder or someone might gain info too during the night phase, so I think it might still be a good choice for the first day.

Chance might be a bad idea, because it's probably a random person that gets killed, maybe with a coroner's report. Community chest seems like it could be worth a chance. Neither is probably a bad idea too, because then noone gets killed (and no coroner's report).

I would just as soon take the risk that the card will benefit town than I would risk lynching a townie on D1, seeing as townies tend to get the D1 lynch more than scum do. Vote no lynch.
