@ Limi What is your take on it, though? It would be nice to see what you think as well, rather than leaving your opinion blank and only offering an overall sum up of what has already been said.

Oh I just found an earlier post of yours with somewhat of an opinion:

Interesting read Mynd, I was able to follow it easily enough, and I'll admit, it makes sense. However, it does start a train on EP, with BG agreeing with you. I'd like to see your suggestion, or other people's suggestions on possible lists we could work from before we stick (if we decided to go with lists) with the person you "feel" is mafia.

 

I ALSO am very wary of the blatant arrangement going between Mynd and Levity... it seems a bit... off, I guess. I feel it's almost superficial in how open and aggressive they are opposing each other.

 

 

I guess that means you're one of the people that are willing to roll with Mynd's idea? mmm. I find it odd that on your recent post you say "There are a few people going with the bandwagon idea, or saying they are ok with going with it." It's very general and you don't seem to be including yourself. I'm not entirely sure yet.

 

There are four factions right now in my mind: Nolder and Blackhoof nay saying the other of BG and Mynd, the people ok with the bandwagon and people who spam.

 

There are a lot of quiet people in this game, and quiet honestly, I don't want to jump the gun on anything and see where this fued goes.

 

However, there was one thing that stuck out to me, and that was Christine's original "I can rock with that", then comment to Piano about how he is crazy for defending Mynd, and then a last comment against any one doing math...

 

I understand she is dealing with medical problems right now, but she's played enough that if she isn't capable of keeping up or playing that she would leave the game, so this jumping around wishy wash ness strikes me as odd, and that is most likely where my vote will land depending on how active others get.

 

 

I can go back and get quotes if people are going to get picky over it btw.

I can follow his logic of "realistic" possibilities/chances and him not meaning that it's meant to be an exact science, but I also wanted more answers than just a vote on EP, (which is why I didn't just vote on EP) as well as what other's thought of the list and or if a group list was to be made. And since then, the arguments of Blackhoof, and Nolder have been convincing in both factual numbers, their accounts that it's possible to be mafia many times in a row, and that this isn't 100% out of character of the tricks/plays that Mynd likes to make.

 

I haven't played with Mynd OR Nolder, so I don't particularly want to follow either one at the moment after what I read.

What I meant as far as the Mynd being a jerk comment.. no idea why she left the game but it happened right after Mynd was going at her pretty strongly. He then has a snarky post about her leaving... you don't know what happened as to why she stepped out of the game so it was unneccesary. As far as Nolder telling me how to play... I've been playing since you were in diapers but thanks for the tip. ;) You could preach til you pass out that people should keep emotions out of the game but it's never going to happen. You can't throw 24 different personalities into something intense and expect nothing to happen and for everything to stay "in game" and, having left the game, any rudeish sort of comments about her leaving was taking it outside of the game.

 

 

But moving along... after getting a headache trying to read all the math stuff... I can't see how there could ever be any set statistics for the game of mafia... each game is different. Some use random to place roles some pick certain people for certain roles, some games have 24 and some have 12, some have extra non-townies roles and some only have the very basic roles and tons of vanilla. You can't base how many times Bob has been mafia in 10 games when 3 were played at once, 2 were basic, 5 were epic, 1 was fast, ect ect etc. It's beyond incredibly impossible to make any sort of legit theory based off of statistics of the game so playing your numbers and math and claiming that makes EP beyond a doubt mafia is just an elaborate way for you to stir the snakes to startle the grass.

However, you know very well that the "just a game" argument applies to us all.

 

Also, no one is 100% sure that EP is mafia. This was about choosing the most likely mafia player.

I think all of you getting too hung up on Mith's Math are completely missing the point. It's just a starting place. Although..it would have looked much better if he provided a list to choose from like he talked about instead of focusing on EP.

 

Providing a list..then discussing who to pressure would seem more town. Picking EP straight up is slightly suspicious, considering he said we should come up with a list.

 

Then if we were to follow his method we should not only pick someone who hasn't been mafia lately but who is also somewhat new. To increase the chances by HIS math.

 

Mith...why put the new player part in you proposal if you were just going to ignore it by picking EP?

I agree that for EP that was a VERY calm reaction...

 

I think we can do better than basing a first day vote off of CHANCE though.... Will try to do a reread later to see if I can propose a better candidate

Oh as far as the reason I think Mynd picked me is because I played in several games with him lately (SW, Mistborn, CYoR, and GT2, Zombie game) However I have been a Zombie/anti-town in JLM's game so the math is slightly off :P
