The soundtrack from the science fiction movie Bicentennial Man have a song sung by Celine Dion named The you look at me and that always make me think of the Aiel as the first lines of the song go like this:

Laugh and cry,

Live and die,

Life is a dream we are dreaming,

Now in the next like when Celine sings it sound like she says song, not soul, which reminds med even more of WoT.

Day by day,

I find my way,

Look for the soul and the meaning.

Other than that I always get reminded of WoT by Loreena McKennitt's The Highwayman, nothing in the lyrics is very WoT like but just the melody and the feel of the song reminds me of WoT.

I also think that Grand Magus's song Legion would be a good one for Logain. Especially the first part of the song that go like this:

A mighty blast of fire burned across the sky

It is no unknown power causing this tonight

They didn't know I had it in me but I have returned

Transformed, no longer human, watch the heavens burn

You'll pay

I also think that the sound track to the Wheel of Time computer game is pretty good and actually do fit the setting very well, at least to get the player in the mood, I have used music from that game when GMing Wheel of Time RPG with my gaming group at times.

The world of sword of truth has a lot of similiraties with wot. The creator and dark one (dark one is called the keeper),

and confessors remind me of aes sedai. Also the plot of the first novel in sot reminds me of the eye of the world.

As for the songs what comes to mind is blind guardians album at the edge of time has song that is

called wheel of time that is literally about the world of wot. I guess power metal reminds me the most of the series.

Hearths on fire from hammerfall would go well with any of the epic battles:

Actually I would say the Sisters of the Light remind me the most of Aes Sedai in Sword of Truth, there are some similarities with Confessors but Sisters of the the Light is almost exactly the same minus a few things here and there. Also a rada'han is pretty much exactly the same as an a'dam. You also have similar concepts in how one of the magick systems in the world works, there are several magick systems in Sword of Truth but the main one. For example it is almost impossible for a female han use to teach a male and vice versa, which is why the Sisters of the Light use centuries in a time dilation field to teach a wizard up to safe levels. The han system is also an energy system though han is called from within the magick user him or herself while in WoT the magick is drawn from without. There are other similarities to but I am getting off topic.

What about that Wheel of Time music CD that was released some years back. I am really not that impressed with it, some of the music is pleasant to listen to but it is very generic, at least that is my opinion and do not really make me think about WoT. The only exception is Ladies of the Tower which I think is good and which do work well with WoT.

Haha... you might not want to bring up those similarities...

For songs, Enigma's I Love You.....I'll Kill You' encapsulates Lanfear's character, while their 'Return to Innocence' for me is a perfect song for the first three books. Alex M.O.R.P.H and Chris Ortega's remix of Protoculture's 'Sun Gone Down is brilliant for Rand's entire character development. The lyrics speak for themselves (especially the first and last ones)!!!!!!

Bring da Ruckus, by the Wu-Tang Clan, reminds me of the Forsaken.

Verse 1 - Moridin

Ghostface, catch the blast of a hype verse

My glock bursts, leave in a hearse, I did worse

I come rough, tough like an elephant tusk

Ya head rush, fly like Egyptian musk

Aw [removed], Wu-Tang Clan sparks the wicks an'

However, I master the trick just like Nixon

Causin' terror, quick damage ya whole era

Hardrocks is locked the [removed] up, or found shot

PLO style, hazardous cause I wreck this dangerous

I blow sparks like Waco, Texas

-As Ishamael, Moridin literally had a "Ghostface", and "left in a hearse" when he was killed by Rand. He believes he's "mastered the trick" (i.e. because he supposedly knows more about the Wheel than anyone else), and caused terror throughout different eras when he was periodically released upon the world.

Verse 2 - Sammael

I watch my back like I'm locked down, hardcore

Hittin' sound, watch me act bugged, and tear it down

A literate type asshole, songs join gold, no doubt

And you watch a corny [removed] fold,

Yeah, they fake and all that, carrying gats but yo,

My clan rollin' like forty Macs

Now ya act convinced, I guess it makes sense

Wu-Tang yo SUUUUU, represent

I wait for one to act up, now I got him backed up

Gun to his neck now, react what?
And that's one in the chamber, Wu-Tang banger

36 styles of danger

-Sammael was paranoid of Rand and was always watching his back. Yet, at the same time, he believed he had Rand's back against the wall.

Verse 3 - Rahvin

I rip it hardcore like porno-flick bitches

I roll with groups of ghetto bastards with biscuits

Check it, my method on the microphone's bangin'

Wu-Tang slang will leave your headpiece hangin'

Bust this, I'm kickin' like Segall, Out for Justice

The roughness, yes, the rudeness, ruckus

Redrum, I verbally assault with the tongue

Murder one, my style shot ya knot like a stun-gun

I'm hectic, I wreck it with the quickness

Set it on the microphone, and competition get blown

By this nasty ass [removed]with my [removed], the Rza

Charged like a bull and got pull like a trigga

So bad, stabbing up the pad with the vocab, crab

I scream on ya ass like your dad, bring it on

-Rahvin loved the ladies and "verbally assaults with the tongue" by way of Compulsion. He hit Morgase like a stun-gun, and ordered her around, "I scream on ya ass like your dad".

Verse 4 - Demandred.

I'm more rugged than slaveman boots

New recruits, I'm [removed] up MC troops

I break loops and trample shit while I stomp

A mudhole in that ass cause I'm straight out the swamp

Creepin up on site, now it's Fright Night

My Wu-Tang slang is mad [removed] dangerous

And more deadly than the stroke of an axe

Choppin through ya back, givin' bystanders heart attacks

Niggas try to flip, tell me who is him

I blow up his [removed] prism, make it a vicious act of terrorism

You wanna bring it, so [removed] it, come on and bring da ruckus

And I provoke [removed] to kick buckets

I'm wettin' CREAM, I ain't wettin fame

Who sellin' gain, I'm givin' out a deadly game.

It's not the Russian it's the Wu-Tang crushin' roulette

Slip up and get [removed] like Suzette

Bring da [removed] ruckus

-I don't want to spoil anything, but let's just say this fits Demandred pretty well.

Hmmm....I wonder...Well, not really.... Seeing as how the whole reason I even grabbed "Eye of the World" off of the bookstore shelf (in 1991) was because one of my favorite songs by the Grateful Dead is "Eyes of the World"  After reading the series through twice, and being a Deadhead for these past 20 or so years, there are for me many, many synchronicitous connections between the Dead's music and lyrics and the world of the Wheel of Time.  Here's a bunch of songs and lyric fragments and my feelings about them:

Fire on the Mountain  (You know which mountain....) always makes me think of Rand

...There's a dragon with matches whose loose on the town..."

(Full lyrics here, with annotation, including an interesting bit about Hexagram 56 from the I Ching

Ok...just check this show out:

It's got a lot of songs that connect to the Wheel of Time for me...like "Candyman" (think Mat) "The Wheel" and "Eyes of the World"

I also listened to Track 22 "Morning Dew"  (Rand is the Lord of the Morning) after finishing "A Memory of Light," it seemed fitting to me.

Can't believe no ones thought of "Happy Together" by The Turtles for Mat and Toun

Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together

If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

Ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba ba, ba-ba ba
Ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba ba, ba-ba ba

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me

So happy together

So happy together
And how is the weather
So happy together
We're happy together
So happy together
Happy together
So happy together
So happy together
