Too much game talk? Shall we discuss our bar schedule?

Definitely Tyrion FTW, though he was kind of annoying in Book 5. And King Stannis, SHUT IT. Jon is NOT dead.

WALL O' TEXT WARNING.

(I am so flipping glad to have this done. I've been working on it off and on for like 3 hours now *laughs*.)

Also, Kay seems to be kinda hanging out in the background, but that could just be cus she's new.

We've already talked about this a few times, but I still find it ping-y on my reread. Especially since Kae then mentions that some of Kay's posts have been spam. I wouldn't consider that hanging in the background then.

I honestly don't see a noteworthy person to vote for at this time, I do think Hoof has been a bit off so I will vote Hoof for now and see how things go I will probably change it as more things happen.

Really? After reading everything you couldn't find a noteworthy person to vote for? FoS.

While Nolder acted a little oddly before he was promoted to co-mod, I don't necessarily think that's indicative of his alignment. We all know what happened the last time he surprised us by his Day 1 antics if you were in or followed along with the LilKat game at SG. It will be interesting to see how Tina adopts his role.

Hoofy is the train with the most votes right now, and I see some merit in adding some more pressure to what happens. But that comes at the risk of people tunneling on him. We have plenty of time to reach a lynch, so I'm going to place my vote on BGfor the time being to create an second train and see if anything shakes out.

Backing off of now two people that we know were townies. Reads like scum trying to sound townie since he knew they'd flip.

it sucks having to go back and analyze it later because I have to note that it's Drunk MafiaTM and explicitly say that in my notes.

Razen, we rarely, if ever talk about anything of consequence in Drunk Mafia, so what exactly are you making notes about?

I don't think we should lynch Hoof. I'm still torn between BG and Tina at the moment. His vote against me still doesn't sit right. A few people have said that it seems like he was trying to look town. But one of those people was Tina. So confusing.

In short, I'm good with a lynch on either, and I am going to Vote Tina to even up the two trains. Totally willing to switch to BG, however.

I dont think we should lynch Hoof either. He always does something to get himself lynched D1 it seems so if he survives to D2 he might actually start acting like a townie. If he continues to act in a scummy way we can just lynch him then instead of the blind D1 lynchs thats going around now.

I don't think we should lynch today because of his claim. That's about it. Tho I guess not so useful now that we all know.

Kae and Lenlo both doubting the Hoof lynch. Different reasons stated, but makes me curious. Did they know something that we didn't?

Also, why would Kae say that it's not as useful after we all knew Hoof's role? He was immune to most Night Actions, so how was it bad/less useful that we knew that? Seems like it was still have virtually the same effect as us not knowing.

Hmm...why the disappointment at Buddha Kitty being killed? She was a symp. A symp that the mafia didn't know they had. Otherwise they probably wouldn't have killed her. Lucky for us they wasted that kill. I want to go back and see if Tina/Nolder dropped any hints related to that role and how people interacted with them. But your reaction here is quite interesting. Vote: Lenlo.

Makes me wary of Razen.

Going back to Soy, he seems very eager to respond to Ishy's statement about having found the scum. Getting nervous since your name was mentioned? Also, responds quickly to my post about having a weak reason to vote for me on D1. I didn't think it was a comment that needed to be replied to, but he was pretty quick to give his excuse.

... she called Soy out for the same kind of behavior she was displaying on D1.

I don't really think I am being all that defensive, as the rest of your post says, but I suppose we can just agree to disagree. BTW, you cite pretty much every game related post I've made from Day One. How crappy of a mafia player would I be if I immediately worried over every little vote on me. However, the above is bs. I am not calling him out for the same behavior I did. I am putting this shit to bed once and for all, and at the risk of being considered overdefensive because I'm once more responding to something someone is saying about me (*shock and awe*). Tress, you pointed out that I immediately responded to every vote on me as odd behavior. And a lot of others hurriedly jumped in and agreed. Yet, no one commented on the fact that it was all on the same day, on the first day of the game actually. Did anyone stop to think that maybe I just had some extra time that day? And was excited to play the game? And wasn't in any other games so I had lots of time to pay attention to that one? Furthermore, you cite BG's post as evidence hon, but he didn't vote for me. If you'll notice, I respond directly to everyone talking to or about me, not just when they vote. Otherwise, I'd probably be considered ignoring them.

Razen, try to follow the logic throughout the course of the post. I started out looking at who specifically noted Tina as town, and my first list of "who I am looking at" was based on those people specifically.

I never noted Tina as town. I merely said I didn't think she was playing that scummy. I pointed this out because it seemed like she was getting undeserved flack (mostly from BG).

Finally....

Heart's game related posts are....where lately? Also, going through the reread she seemed to just repeat what everyone else was saying. Oh, and also say that she has no clue who to vote for.

Planning on doing a reread tomorrow. Been reading and lurking but I haven't had a solid block of time to properly devote to mafia.

I semi seriously believe the last sentence of the ASOIAF series will be "Then Winter came and everyone else died, the end."

also while we're talking spoilers

DWD spoilers here btw: As much as I dislike Jon Snow I'm guessing he's going to "live on" inside Ghost (hence the name, kinda obvious). Or maybe we're meant to believe that. I'd be much happier if he's just plain old dead. There's enough zombies and pseudo zombies in this series IMO.

So basically what I got out of Songstress's massive WoT is that she's suspicious of me, Kaylee, Ishy, Basel, and Key. Which is interesting, because she contradicts herself at the beginning and end of her first post. First, this is her list from her first statement of who she suspects:

I'm looking so far at Key, Basel, Kaylee and Razen.

And second, this is her list at the end of the first post:

... and while this is the second appearance of Basel in my Wall of FOS, I'm seeing Key, Kaylee, Razen and Ishy as being much more suspicious at this time.

Why does Basel switch from the list of top suspects to not as suspicious as me, Kaylee, and Key? And why wasn't Ishy mentioned at the beginning if she was suspicious of him? And then part 2 of the massive WoT - the justification for her vote on Key.

Of the four, my strongest suspicion right now is Key.

My "case" on early D1, trying to get the discussion kick-started (please note this was on page 4)...

{snipped-Key's reactions to the votes on her at the beginning of Day 1}

This was noted as a mild ping, and that she bears watching. At the time I still had my joke vote on Kae, and eventually moved my vote to Hoof. Yet she felt the need to comment immediately on my mild FOS, when she could have just let it slide without comment -- I was looking for reactions, after all...

I assumed Soy was trying to get the first D1 train going and spur some reactions by his vote on you, Key... and truthfully I found your reaction to his vote on you slightly more intriguing than the vote itself.

But rest assured, he's not forgotten. He's given me less to work with right now.

But still she came back to this, as if it was actually somehow important that I found her defensive reaction more interesting than Soy's vote, which I understood.

Meh. I don't agree with that. For the record, also, I believe Ishy was the first on to vote Soy, not toward the end so watching vote count is an iffy way to judge who is scum.

Nah, I'm not saying I think you're scum because of where you were in the train. Your vote on him didn't really strike me as scummy. There were some that I questioned, though.

And by Kae's theory, perhaps we should look harder at Ishy.

I snipped a lot of the quotes, but I kept what I thought was relevant. There's two things I want to address here.

1. I bolded and italicized the "given me less to work with right now" line. That sticks out to me. Why had he given you less to work with? That sounds like a mafioso trying to collect something to build a case on town players. It would explain why she didn't vote Soy. She knew he would flip town. If I was scum, I wouldn't have been caught dead on that lynch, especially after Soy had revealed. So she said that she was going to hammer, but let someone else do it for her.

2. With her quoting on who was on the Soy train, she never mentioned the votes that struck her as scummy. All she said was that there were some that she had questioned. Why didn't she point them out?

In short, I am HIGHLY suspicious of Songstress and her massive WoT's. There are little inconsistencies that together give me a scummy vibe from her. Unvote, vote Songstress.

Ya know, I didn't see this when checking in from my phone from work yesterday, but there it is, bolded for emphasis.

You kept what you "thought was relevant", yet you snipped the part of my post where I actually answered the question that "sticks out to you".

In context from my original post:

My response:

I assumed Soy was trying to get the first D1 train going and spur some reactions by his vote on you, Key... and truthfully I found your reaction to his vote on you slightly more intriguing than the vote itself.

But rest assured, he's not forgotten. He's given me less to work with right now.

At this point Soy had posted exactly three times, once to check in, one of them to vote Key, and the third to explain his reason for voting her ("Gotta start somewhere"). My assumption, as stated, was that he was trying to get the game going by starting a train and gauging reactions, which he certainly did, and he later confirmed that was actually the case.

But still she came back to this, as if it was actually somehow important that I found her defensive reaction more interesting than Soy's vote, which I understood.

Disingenuous and highly scummy.

And since you went to all this trouble of building a fake case on me and drawing all this attention on yourself, when I'd decided someone else was going to be my focus for the day, I'm wondering who you're trying to protect.

unvote, vote Razen

I stay away from Littlefinger. He's bad news, man. Didn't you see what he did to Ned?
Ned got what he deserved.

Ned did not get what he deserved, bite your tongue.:tongue:

How did we get from Game of Thrones to A Song of Ice and Fire?

This made me LOL for reals, sorry. Maw, you must read the books. They are epic.

Posted

Kae, Ned got what he diserved. he should have known better than to trust Littlefinger not to sell him out or to trust any Lannister not to go back on their word. even if he had been sent to the Wall like Cersie wanted, they woudl have sent some poisoned mead or a faceless with him to finish the job.

Maw, i'm very critical of any book series turned to movie. for example, i detest WB's treatment of both the HP series and the Percy Jackson Series; but can say te one good thing about Twilight is how well they've followed her "cannon" *cringes* on screen.

HBO has done wonderfully with the series and any additives have, imo, only added more to the story line and would fit perfectly into the books. season 1 you can pretty much read along with the show

to express how happy i am with HBO's treatement of ASoF&I, i stand by my words of hoping that they get the rights to do a WoT series *nods enthusiastically*

Snow's dead. Deal with it.

skinchangers never die. read DwD's prolouge again you newb

Let's just agree that Tyrion will be the last one left alive and go from there. Tyrion will live, the rest will die. /it is known

and then Drogon eats Tyrion and uses his bones for tooth picks then proceeds to choke on the tooth picks and dies leaving the entirety of Westorous unpoloulated by everything except rabbits and the lands across the narrow seas engulfed in flames /it is known

edit - and when i say rabbits, i'm not talking cute little fuzzy rabbits or even the wise cracking rabbits like Bugs. i'm talking Monty Python were-rabbits :baalzamon:

There should have been a vote for Razen at the end of my post, oy. That's what I get for doing it while under the influence and so late *laughs*.

The only exceptions to the rule 'The Book Was Better' that i've seen are LotR and The Princess Bride. Usually when I read a book and think 'this would make a really cool movie' my next thought is 'I hope they never make one.' Do not get me started on Eragon and The Lightning Thief. They weren't even good movies, much less good adaptations of the books. If we get a WoT series that actually stands up to the books, I will be stupidly happy.

That puts me at L-1, if I am correct. All I'm gonna say is you probably shouldn't lynch me if you want to win this one. *jingle bells*

A half-reveal? Spit it out, why don't we want to lynch you?

Maw - i cna't say much about Eragon as i could never finish the series and think it's only semi good anyways. i mean, i'd prefer Twilight over the Inheritance Trilogy tbh. but yeah, i'm glad WB never continued witht he PJ series, lightening theif was abotu as bad as HBP in terms of treatment of cannon imo.

you should add in "of Mice and Men", "Hamelt", "Romeo & Juliet", "Lord fo the Flies", "Animal Famr", "Cujo" and "Pet Semitary" to the list of exceptions as well *nods*

you need to read the books and watch the series thoguh Maw, i think you'll actually enjoy and be very happy about the treatment of the series. HBO has my mega props and like i said, i can't recomend it enough *nods*

Yeah, HBO has done really well with GoT so far. I have been very pleased.

Not sure I'll ever be pleased with a WoT movie, tbh. I've read them for far too long and have cemented my own views on characters, they would be hopelessly wrong on all of them heh.

*breaks into song*

They state that the reveal is kinda scummy,

and that I played it kinda crummy.

I'm telling them that of course I'll win

when I ride into the night with a grin.

A proposition do I have for you all,

if only you'll listen to my call.

You see, I win by being lynched

so to kill me would be quite a cinch.

Now I realize that it is quite dumb

to let victory escape the grasp of my thumb

and yet you found me out, it's easy to see

so keep alive little old me.

The scum (and you) don't want me to win the game

and hence I will not cause you all pain.

Keep me alive for today

and watch in awe as I lead none astray.

The nightkill upon me the scum shall waste,

helping you all to go and make haste.

Search for them on low or high,

but Songstress and Kae I've got on my eye.

I can also tell you that I know this -

that kitty of transit is Soy's opposite hiss.

I am of no use to this lynch-happy town,

but if you want to keep playing, you'll take away my crown.
