Wait, wait, wait. Why does it matter how the scum die? I don't know about you, but I'd be happy to see them die in any way feasible. If that means a speed game, so be it.

 

However, Hoof, however scummy he looks at this point, isn't who I'm afraid of at this point. Take Day 1. We all know that Wombat said that Des was scum. Day 2. Wombat makes the first vote on Des for reasons stated the previous day and leaves it at that.

 

All the sheep that followed him onto that train are the ones that stick out to me. Especially those of you at the tail end of that train. And one person in particular:

Last time I checked, Wombat didn't say much, if anything about the Des lynch after he voted. Everyone else just jumped on board and was willing to go off of what he said. And you're saying that he's directly responsible for the lynch? Not so fast. If you ask me, you (and the other voters) are more responsible for it than he was because you (and everyone else on that train) just decided that was a legitimate reason for a lynch.

Well, I'm in the game and getting caught up... can someone recap all of the reveals we've seen so far?

 

As I am coming through the read-through, I saw this. It may become irrelevant as I continue to read, but I'm bumping it.

 

Ok so someone was replaced with an automaton. Sounds like a cult game. Also, Ithi is defending Des a bit too hard to be explained just by the bond.

 

Womby, I think you lost me. What do you mean by an automaton? There is no listing for such a role on the Wiki anywhere, by my searching. And how have you deduced from these events that there is cult?

 

DPR posted a scene at the end of the day Phase Basel. In that scene, he explained that someone had been taken and replaced by an automaton. This sounds like a cult, because cults recruit people and turn them away from their previous affiliation. Their goals become that of the cult. Some people think this may be a seperate thing from the Mafia, but if your read the rules - it clearly states that no matter what happens in this game, the line is drawn between Town and Mafia. The other option, which from remembering the Vampire Hunter game last year, is that the Mafia Team can recruit, so is also cult. The Vamps were biting all over the place in that game, and the kidnap and replace of real Townies with Fake Townies is a similar thing. Perhaps there was only one Mafia member to begin with. The Monocle himself, and he needs to build his team from scratch.

 

Then again ... one should remember that is never a good idea to try and figure out what is occurring inside the Pirate's head.

 

Regardless of what else you have said, this is a very good point. This is a Town vs. Mafia game and we must remember that. That being said, I think recruitment is likely given the end of D1 scene. Eventually, we will need to ask ourselves the question of who is likely to be recruited.

 

Aye, aye, aye... what is with all the setup assumptions on this site. There is NO benefit to over-reacting to one scene and subscribing to an assumption so early in the game. PAFO. The automaton flavor could easily be an indicator of someone losing control of their vote for a phase, it could be anything. Jumping and pushing the conclusion that it is cult right off the bat falls under the category of "town steering" and "fear mongering".

Also - with regards to your quote and why I was so sure Basel was Mafia, he posted something somewhere else that I was sure meant he was mafia. He was a pretty new player and I thought he had made a silly mistake and given himself away without thinking.

 

DPR knows I saw it and said it was ok ... turns out I was wrong - although he still ended up dead.

Ithi and Maw challenged you on it and say that it is a classic scumtell. You could have chosen to drop it there and claim that it was due to inexperience, and that you were unaware that was a scummy play. You didn't - and you keep hammering back on a point that is digging you ever deeper into a hole. The fact is, you are being way too defensive over only a couple of votes, and that reaction in and of itself hints that you have something to hide. Vote Basel.

The fact that Basel is new makes me willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. A lot more willing than you lot appear to be anyway. Still wrapping my head around some things. But lynching Nolder is a step in the right direction after a terrible start by the town.

 

I get the sense that the death scenes with the "blade" (2 of them so far) are SK kills. While the shots are a myriad of scum kills and vig kills, obviously.
