Call me crazy, but I believe her.

I do think you're overdoing the spam, though, Ithi--you don't have to quadruple-post all the time. Plenty of the stuff you've said could have been all in one post, or not even said at all cos it wasn't entirely relevant.

All I got was someone attempted to take a shot at me ... Nothing about my role could have prevented it hitting me. They either didn't have a guaranteed hit, or there are Day Protective Roles out there somewhere.

I'm a chatterbox. But I'm at work during the day and sleep soon. I dare say I will be a little quieter then.

Are you sure you don't talk in your sleep?

So, Ithi, on a scale of 1-10, low-high, how certain are you that Basel is scum?

Posted

Cool, thanks. XD

BTW, I'm starting to take notes (in theory, anyway), and I'm going to have to add Nolder's latest to my list of pingy things. I totally agree with Wombat--wth is going on in Nolder's head if he thinks people are going to agree with his logic? Unless Wombat says that he knows of a certainty and without any doubt that Despo's scum and that there is no way in the world he can be wrong about this, Wombat's fate shouldn't be decided based on Despo's alignment (and even then, we should hesitate to draw concrete conclusions).

meh since I don't care I guess I'll hop on the Des train

Wombat you can expect to be strung up tomorrow if he's not scum though you know this right?

Unvote: Basel

Vote: Des

This post troubles me a lot. Nolder is trying to avoid responsibility for his vote and possibly line up lynches in advance almost as if he knows Des will flip innocent.

you're the one that started the entire train

intentionally I might add

this isn't just a case of "well I just happened to vote him first"

you've nudged and pushed it the entire day

don't try to push the responsibility onto me now

I'm responsible for my vote yes but we wouldn't even be here now talking about this if it wasn't for you

Yeah I've pushed this train the hardest. Why should that mean I get lynched if Des flips innocent?

That would be using noob logic.

You lynched a townie therefore you are mafia is not a good scumhunting technique and you know it.

you're pushing for it hard though

you're right that it's not grounds for an autolynch all I was saying was your head WILL be on the chopping block tomorrow and you'll have to explain yourself

ask yourself why wombat would push on Des so hard if he wasn't certain of either his alignment or his role

how does "someone tried to kill me last night" equate to Des being scum?

explain that logic to me

I'm willing to go with it since it's early game but it smells fishy to me

just like an unvetted cop claim

I'm most worried about the people who are buying into this without questioning it at all

I can see Wombat being willing to sacrifice somebody in order to lay that trap

Final D2 Vote Count:

Despo ( 15 ) - Wombat, Song, Christine, aemon, Hoof, Meesh, Crush, Verb, Red, Key, Leelou, Tina, Nolder, Ishy

Basel ( 5 ) - Ithi, Sensei, Mawthtex, Lily

Maw ( 2 ) - Basel

With 26, it takes 14 to lynch.

You're all scum. Everyone. Every. Single. One.

In marginally related news, should i let Des come back and say something before I hammer him? I'm not devoted enough to a basel lynch to hold up the game over it.

I didn't think it was complicated or unclear.

And dear lord, Wes, what did you do to your vote count post code?

the thing abotu Basel's reaction is that he doens't diserve any slack. while ihe's done this before, he knows what type of reaction panicking liek that will get him; he's not so new to have not learned this lesson yet. like i said, it's not enough for me to vote him over, but i dont' think he should be gettign a pass.

That may be true, if I were panicking in the first place. I have said it already, but since it seems like some people cannot get it through their heads, I will reiterate: I AM NOT PANICKING. There. I don't understand what part of this is so difficult. If I seem to have been reacting emotionally, it is due to this: I put forth a theory based on who I believed to be scum. Rather than getting agreement, disagreement, or both, I got ... nothing. If you disagree with me, fine, I can respect that. But if you don't buy into what I am trying to sell you, then argue against it. Show me where I am wrong. Show me why you don't think that Maw is scum. If you are persuasive enough, I might even change my vote. But instead, the majority of people voting me didn't even acknowledge my theory at all. At the time I posted this morning with my WoT, the only people who had bothered to address what I had put forth were Ithi herself (when she referred to my vote on her as an OMGUS, and later when she said I was misinformed about lack of explanation being a scumtell) and Nol (when he asked if anyone out there thought I might be onto something about Maw). Otherwise, the only responses I got were a bunch of folk spewing endless garbage and nonsense about me over-reacting and panicking, without even addressing the possibility that I might have come up with something valid. It isn't even the votes against me that have me agitated; I've played enough games by now to know that you don't have to be scum to get lynched... it's a part of the game and you have to deal with it. But when you reply to my post without even acknowledging that I have a theory, and that I might be trying to contribute something useful, that tells me way more than any counter-argument ever could. It tells me that any input I might give will not be respected or taken seriously. And I'm having a very hard time not taking that personally, because I feel like I would get the same reception regardless of whether I was town or not.

So maybe I made a mistake posting about losing the doc. Fine. I didn't know that was a bad thing at the time, I know now, and will keep it in mind for later games. I don't know what else to say there.

Basel, this is what? Your second game ever?

Fourth, actually. Or maybe fifth. I signed up for Christine's current basic game first, but this one had the actual game begin first. So I'm not sure how to count that.

It appears that Nol is a double voter. When Wes posted his next to last vote count, Des had 12 votes. Nol and I voted for him after that. Then in the last VC, Des had 15. Since I know that I'm not a double voter, Nol by default, is. You're not crazy Meesh.

"They are not paying attention. This promises to be easier than I had at first anticipated."

The Dark Monocle laughs to himself, turning the brass screw just so, to fit flush against the newest automaton's skull.

***

In a courtyard some miles away, Basel and Des stand facing a crowd. There is much shouting, but little sense being made. There are many furtive glances as allies look to one another for support.

The fine cracks of inner division have begun to appear on the populace of New Coronado, and judging from the air about them, those cracks promise to spread quickly.

A mob forms, and no matter how well dressed or eloquent they are, the mob always turns ugly.

There was no hurry, really. No reason to fan the flames, but the mob mentality persevered anyway, and a rope was thrown over the hangman's arm.

Despo was never given the chance to speak.

The noose was slipped over his head and the rope hoisted. His well appointed leather boots quivered as Despo died.

DESPO, TOWN ELITE BODYGUARD, HAS BEEN LYNCHED AND IS DEAD.

But that wasn't good enough for one.

Who is to say what makes a person kill? As soon as the murmuring from the crowd had faded, a single shot rings out. Basel's head snaps back, and then he crumples slowly to the ground.

BASEL GIL, TOWN POLITICIAN, IS DEAD.

Mothers cover their children's eyes, and even hardened men turn away. There has been too much death, pointless death, and shame washes across the scene as the last of the day's light fades away.

The great mechanical moon begins its ascent as the city turns to night, but its light does not fall upon any smiling faces.

Except for one.

Any of you could have unvoted to stop that from happening. I did tell you earlier that he had not been online at all for the past couple of days.

It would have been polite to at least let him speak before he was deaded. You could have revoted him afterwards.

I'm not a double voter

remember Aemon had his vote stolen and wasn't counting towards the Des lynch despite voting?

apparently whoever is controlling it changed it or something
