Welcome back! Looking forward to war stories. From all the pictures I have seen so far it definitely looked like a blast this year. Tonight's meeting is our "post-war stories and photos" night, so everyone in the Province who didn't get to go gets to hear all about everything.

*laughs* a little known fact about my warder and I... in RL, we share booboo's. I knew about his aches and pains before he said anything! I have a few new bruises I can't explain in places I don't normally run into things and I'm going to have to resort to sneakers for the next few days because that boo boo hurts, too! He's limping, I'm achy. My only breath of payback is that he gets my headaches, which aren't usually pansy headaches. He knows when I'm lying about not having a migraine. LOL

The weather here is turning very firmly into spring! We've been in the mid-seventies for the last 4 or 5 days, which lovely thunderstorms and soaking rains on and off for the last few weeks (I love a good thunderstorm!). The pollen count is through the roof, which isn't helping my head, but otherwise I'm glad it's warming up here!

Now, if my class would just get over their Spring Fever and get focused...

Oh I hope we get a good bit more warmth and rainstorms here soon! (Which we will. We're entering tornado season's high point). But it got chilly-ish again over Spring Break this week. Though we are planning to go to the OKC Zoo this weekend with friends no matter what the weather does.

Oh! And I should note (since some of us had been talking about re-reading) that my brother has finally finished his list of books to read before his re-read, and tonight he (and so I) are starting our re-read of the Wheel of Time, straight through!

I think you're getting the better end of the deal, I don't think my bruises even come close to your headaches... and I do know when you're lying about your migraines.

The war stories night sounds like a good idea for those who couldn't go.

Our weather is still vacillating between winter and spring... tonight is winter.

Our weather is doing the same. Tomorrow's forecast for our zoo trip involves a high of 50 (if we are lucky), wind chill is always a factor in a place where there's always wind, and spattering rain. Though the forecasters can't agree on if we should expect the rain in the morning or the evening, and one says the evening will have light flurries but no accumulation.

So, of course, we are still planning to go!

Yep, our annual post-gulf war "There I was" story night is definitely a favorite. This year's highlights included the tale of our guard captain proposing to his lady on the Castle, fun stories of camp, and tales from Her Majesty of the Knight who carried Squires across the river on his back during the town battle since there was no rule against "riding double." Much fun! We sent several new people to Gulf this year, and I am glad they all had a fabulous time.

I signed up for a desert orienteering class this semester so, tomorrow, I'm heading down to Big Bend National Park and hiking through it over spring break.  I have just about everything squared away with my pack and trimmed out all of the nonessentials.  There are about ten of us in our group and another group will start on the other end of the park and we'll meet about halfway through the park on Wednesday or Thursday.

But to get there, I have to tolerate eighteen hours in a van.  Meh.

That sounds awesome! I love hiking and camping! Would love to see photos.

Hopefully the van ride will be full of good conversations, and seem to go quickly. (It's 20-24 hours, depending on skill and luck ;) ), from my house to my in-laws, or to my brother's. Long road trip pain...I comprehend.)

I always make room for a camera.  When I went through Arizona, I used my old Canon rig and that was ... unnecessary.  I could kill a Trolloc with that camera.  >_<;;

Alternatively, I could bring along my view camera complete with flash powder and plate film.  *contemplates*

I'm a recovering photography junkie.  One of these days, I'll have a lab again.

That sounds wonderful!! I want to hear all about it!

In going to relax, maybe see a movie and do some projects around the house.

Me, too! Jealous!

This weekend starts my spring break! I'm sure Friday will be spent shoe shopping and doing errands. Then I'll be on my own on Saturday with the girls, so maybe we'll get gussied up and hunt down the Easter Bunny. Then I'm determined to get to the beach a few times with Peanut!

lol, at least most of you made its way back home? :)

I am trying to type tonight. I have had my hand out of the brace for most of the evening and it's only hurting when I do something stupid (typing is probably one of those, but so far so good!).

I had a Peanut and Mama day yesterday where we went EVERYWHERE! Picked up the last of the paperwork I needed to get Peanut into Kindergarten, then took her to the mall to see the chick hatchery, wave at the Easter bunny, buy new books (I had coupons!), and get Easter shoes for the girls' dresses. We then drove out nearly to the beach to drop off an iPad that one of my kids left in my classroom on Thursday. His parents run a produce stand and she loaded the back of my truck up with goodies and only let me pay for about half of it. That lady is in love with my kid, which is pretty darned funny to me.

Today, we took it easy. I boiled the eggs for tomorrow's dying pleasure and made this for tomorrow's luncheon with the inlaws after the egg hunt!

I am hoping to get both of the girls' hands in some dirt tomorrow after we get home from my mother in law's. :)

What're ya'll up to this weekend?

Posted

Oooh, that looks delicious!

Well yesterday we took a four mile walk, hung out at the playground and the book store, watched The Lion King, and I made rainbow deviled eggs for Easter.

Today we are going to my parents for Easter.

That looks so good, Lor.  Well, yesterday I went to the gym, then out for drinks and appetizers, movie  (The Call with Halle Berry) then out for pancakes.  Fun!  Today hangining around, chores, getting ready for the week.

My 15 year old son left last Tuesday for a Spring Break, Boston/New York Trip.  He's coming home late tonight at LAX.

It was really yummy, too!!! :) Everything tastes better when it's free, though. ;) LOL

tomorrow is still my Spring Break, so I'm totally counting it as a long weekend. ;) We're going grocery shopping tomorrow! I need a coupon buddy who can meet me at the library and clip coupons for the shopping days ahead once a week... *sighs*

I had a trying week.  Slept in today.  Got a massage went out to breakfast.  Nap?

Posted

It was a long week on my end too. Rough at work, rough physically. Slept in today (got an unprecedented 9 hours. I normally get about 6. Feeling better on that!). Have taken it easy. Weekend planned were cancelled for today by others, so it's been quietly productive instead. We cleaned, watched the first Indiana Jones movie, ate the stew I made last night.

Lady, sounds just what you needed.

I went to the spa for a soak.

Husband and son are gone today.  Do a little shopping and go see "The Host."

Husband was racing today, so I had the girls all day and had to take him lunch and dinner. The girls (especially the oldest one!) were crazy!

Alas, I have to go back to work tomorrow.

I don't want to...

visited with a few relatives and friends and had dinner on saturday. went to church today and hung out with a few friends afterward. overall, it was a nice weekend. i'm dreading this week though; i am required to get a tuberculosis test for my job (it's a thing all employees are required to do) and I hate needles =(

Tonight was fun. We went over to some friends' and showed them the original "The Lion in Winter" with Katharine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole. They hadn't seen it before (newer and younger friends. Fun with college towns). They all loved it. We had a good time.

I have a massage scheduled tomorrow at 11am. I'll be useless for the rest of the day.

Sounds lovely, Ryrin!

*Grins* Not playing the WoT RPG today (though I do need to set that up sometime in the near future), but we are doing a new RPG campaign! Introducing a new player to the group. She's awesome. Should be fun.
