I hated ..... literally HATED running the course on Barton Field. Way too much dirt and it was not good for my knees at all.

But the hard work was good for me, because after 3 months of training, I managed to run one of the very best two mile times in all of my career in the Army. I was 31 years old, and I ran the two miles on my last PT test there at a time of 14 minutes and about 30 seconds.

Barton Field *groans loudly* I hated that place.

hehehe....my run time got severely worse there.

I went from a 14:20 (Basic) to a 15:15 in AIT. O_O

But...it's all good. my run time is back down.

The best run I ever did was the 2 mile run in 18:45 or something like that. I almost always cut that time very close to the 60% rate.

I hate running.

I actually can't do it anymore, because I screwed up my hips in the army.

My first duty station the running course was 1 mile straight in one direction and the return route. We ran over a bridge that crossed the Autobahn.

Talk about damaging and scary.

I was always afraid I'd fall off the bridge in a PT test and get runned over by a German.

It was highly unsafe.

I had a great time when I was stationed in Germany.

However, what was wrong about that bridge over that autobahn which caused the bridge to be unsafe?

I have a very poor sense of balance and was constantly afraid I'd fall off the bridge.

And the bridge shooked like anything when cars rode under it.

Isn't the autobahn the one with no speed limit?

You got it, Maw. That's what the highways are in Germany. One big Speedway. And I had to run on a bridge across one.
