All of the seconds die.

Alivia, who I think will be in Rands circle (which I don't get, why haven't the Aes Sedai and their ashaman, or the ashaman and their AS tested this as yet? makes no sense.) will die. Lan and Nyneave (the other person in rands circle,) wil live, But all of the seconds die. I think that Siuan will die, she is egwenes second no matter who the keepr is, and leane is siuans second. Talmanes will die, Flynn will die, I think Min will die I know, travesty, but I think Min will die, yet rand will Live.

I don't think Siuan will die. I think that the Byrne POV early on, with the stuff about how he never had time for a wife and it was now too late for House Byrne, won't be left there.

I think Lan is probably toast. To be honest, doesn't he deserve to die? You don't go cheating people out of their death-wish, suicidal charge.

I agree that Talmanes, who I have always liked, will probably die. And in Caemlyn, not TG.

Olver may well die.

I do fear for Min.

For that matter, I don't think Perrin is safe. As far as I know, the only character we know survive are Aviendha, Mat and Tuon.

Sorry, but Nicolas "three in a boat" fortelling prove you wrong about Min.

We know for certain that Rand's three girls live, as well as Mat and Tuon (due to the out riggers). There are a couple of other who have had fortellings/visions/etc... that suggest that they will live (someone founding a Library is an example).

Not necessarily..

Nicola spoke of 'The lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond'. That last could have as easily been Egwene the Dreamer as Min.. and Rand has had a sort of premonition of Min's death; LTT wanted to add her name to his list of women who had died because of him.

This is the quote from LoC:

"The lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond. Three on the boat, and he who is dead yet lives. The great battle done, but the world not done with battle. The land divided by the return, and the guardians balance the servants. The future teeters on the edge of a blade.”

I think chances are overwhealming that she who sees beyond is Min.

However, that doesn't mean she survives. This foretelling is clearly not listing events in chronological order. For example, the three women have not been on a boat with Rand, but the land has already been divided by the Return.

So it could well be that this foretelling does refer to Min, but Min still dies.

I have a sneaking suspicion that most/all of the (for want of a better way of describing them as a group) 'good, solid military men' are gonna get it. Guys like Dobraine, Bashere, Talmanes, Ituralde and so on. These guys are some of my favourite characters in the series, easily in my top 10 so I hope that if the bell does toll for them that they go out like the heroes they are and that they get a few paragraphs (at the very least) to tell of their demise, and not just be swatted aside and forgotten like Nichola...

Agreed. I suspect everyone on that list (to which I would add Talmanes) is doomed.

I read that quote as the state of the world while the three+one are on the boat (Last Battle has happened, but it really isn't the last, the Seanchan control part of Randland, and the Asha'man balance the Aes Sedai). So, while the Seanchan are already here, and the Asha'man (though they don't balance the Aes Sedai very well yet), it will still be true when Rand "dies" (since he is dead yet lives) and is put on a boat to . . . Avalon, I think (King Arthur, even if that's Artur Hawkwing).

this fortelling doesn't actually say that "the 3 are on a boat with Rand" it simple states that three are on a boat...whoever the "three" are could technically be anyone, although they are likely el, avi and min (lion sword, the dedicated spear, she who sees beyond)

I think adding Egwene's name to the list would be a very small price to pay for strangling her to death.

ANYWAY.

Sanderson has already messed up one of the foretellings by bumping off Carylinya, but I doubt he would do it for a character as significant as Min. So from the 3 in a boat thing I do think she is safe as well.

Although the foretelling just said they were on the boat, not that they were alive....so....

According to Brandon he is both aware of the Carlinya viewing and the fact that her death appears not to correspond with this. I believe he said its not a mistake and to RAFO. I'll give him and Team Jordan the benefit of the doubt as I usually do.

I think the three on the boat and rand show all of the ladies will survive. Perhaps they are leaving Randland much as the elves leave in the Lord of the Rings?

I could never see Elayne giving up the throne of Andor to go somewhere far away to live out her days with Rand. She's far too bloody selfish for that.

Elayne defines herself as a Queen of Andor, not as the consort of the Dragon Reborn. She was raised to be a queen and she lives to be a queen. That's not selfishness. It's a matter of where she finds her identity and calling.

What was the viewing he supposedly contradicted?

A viewing where Carlinya had ravens tattooed on her (shoulders?). Which seemed to imply that she would be killed/captured/made property by the Seanchan. Instead she was killed by Black Ajah in the WT.

Hope my facts are right but that is the gist of it.

I think at least one of the great Generals will survive. my money is on Ituralde. Although i can easily see him dying. I see both Siuan and Byrne dying, maybe not at same place or time but it seems fitting. Bashere because he is going to be where the worst is im sure (except for Lan). He will most likely be the one who holds of the red-veil Aiel while Rand plus two are fighting the dark one or some such.

It looks like Elayne has no chance of dying with the birth of her twins and such not coming before the LB. Egwene could die. but i have a feeling she will be leading the AS for much longer....Leane i have a feeling lives, but if she does die it won't be some big thing. Alivia will die, somehow.

Really I am just hoping people die in this book. It will be bring so much good drama.

I agree with the idea that Sanderson did not in fact screw up Carlinya; there is no way he did not know about her foretelling.
