The Disappearance of the 3 Ajah Heads ... Black Ajah involvement?

For those of you who are not aware, we are currently busy with a series of RPs in which the Ajah Heads find out about each other.

Unfortunately, 3 of the members who have already started RPing in this story have either left DM or been removed from their positions. We now have to explain In Character why there are suddenly 3 new Ajah Heads (Blue, Gray and Green), more or less at the same time.

1) Green (Jaydena) and Red (Zarinen character of Elgee) were the first to "meet", then White (Tayva character of Taei) "logics" them out and suggests a meeting. Green and Red have met Blue (Serena) but have not "come out" to her yet so this RP can be scrapped.

Here's the RPs we've done so far:

What do you mean you're not a Red? - done, led to the other RPs

In this, Jade has spotted suspicious activity in the Red quarters (men - lots of). She slips in there and starts chatting up one of the men (Arath), finds out he's an Asha'man, and along comes Zarinen. Jade figures out Zarinen must be the Ajah Head, Zarinen figures out the same thing about Jade, they chat, and deciding that AS must work together in dealing with the Black Tower. They think it will be easiest if they can convince the other Heads, who can direct their own Ajahs in that direction. Of course, first they have to find out who those Heads are. The set about hunting and appearing chum-illy together, hoping to flush out some of the others.

Putting Two and Two Together - done, leading to another RP about to start

The White Head (Tayva) notices Green and Red, "logics" it out, and decides to take a chance by inviting them for tea. The actual meeting is about to start.

The Weight of the World - in progress - will need to be scrapped.

Jade and Zarinen are doing their chummy act, and encounter a Blue (Serena) who they know has previously been bonded to an Asha'man. They're going to throw out some lures, probably in the line of "oh we have to deal with these Asha'man it would be so nice if the Heads could get together about this blah blah", hoping to get hints as to the Blue Head. They don't know that the woman they're talking is in fact her.

As you can see, Jade is central in all three these RPs, which are happening all within a few days. The "teaparty with the White" is set to happen the following day, in fact. Our first challenge will be how to get rid of Jade, introduce a new Green Head, have her know about Zarinen and Tayva and the mission they're all on ... in less than 24 hours IC time. The Greens have a plan for replacing Jade immediately , but we need to make her disappear first.

Now, since we also have to replace Blue and Gray (neither yet "outed"), I thought we could have something like the following scenario:

The Red Head, Zarinen (well known to HATE Greens) and the Green Head, Jade, are suddenly and inexplicably all chummy chummy and generally acting suspiciously (trying to figure out who the other Ajah Heads are). The only people outside their Ajahs who will know that they're the Ajah Heads, would obviously be the Black Ajah. Maybe the Blue and Gray Heads are suspicious of what's going on, and ask the wrong people (BA).

The BA panic, thinking that this is about THEM, and decide to kidnap the Ajah Heads to find out what's going on. They can't just kill Jade, since she's just been bonded by an Asha'man, so kidnapping and taking her somewhere far away so he can't easily locate her, is the only option. They can't get to Zarinen, since she's not only Bonded by an Asha'man, but the bas ... err ... guy has actually moved into her quarters with her. (They could try, though ... I'm VERY open to a bit of a fight in the night :P)

Soo ... they kidnap Jade, Serena and Pia. Maybe all at the same time, or maybe Serena and Pia first, but since those two don't actually know what's going on, they decide to kidnap the obvious two (Jade and Zarinen), succeeding only with Jade. (Or deciding due to the difficulties in kidnapping Zarinen, to leave her for now.)

Brown, White and Yellow are still blissfully unaware, so they could be safe, or there could be failed attempts on them too. Might be a bit of a stretch for the BA to think they could get away with kidnapping ALL the Ajah Heads, but on the other hand, since no-one but the BA know who the Ajah Heads are, they could think no-one else would put 2 and 2 together.

OK, so what do our BA members think of this? Is the story plausible? If so, would you like to actively RP some or all of it, or just leave it as a story we mention we suspect?

Comments and suggestions from everyone else is also welcome.

I certainly like the idea. Perhaps they could make it look like those three just decided to leave the Tower for reasons unknown. Or leave 'messages' that claim to have to reasons for leaving the Tower that way there isn't so much suspicion right away. Maybe they claim to retire?

Maybe one or two of the Heads (Blue and Gray?) step down or are voted down because they aren't handling things the way their Ajah members want. ...I don't even know if an Ajah Head can be er...deposed?...once she's in charge...

I don't know. Just thinking out loud...er..on here. I felt like this needed to be replied to :).

Emily, I like the idea of them supposedly leaving notes saying they're retiring, or something ... that would explain why the Ajahs immediately go about picking new Heads, instead of waiting weeks / months because they don't know where their Heads are. (Should look up their as... err never mind.)

I know Rae's already told Elgee this but the BA isn't likely to kidnap them if they are thought to be in trouble, they'd kill them I don't see that as a question or a debate. I know if any of my DF characters ever thought something was about them being a DF those ppl would find themselves with an untimely death by innocent means lol.

I know you don't want to kill them off, but I think accidents are the best way to solve their disappearance... mishap with a ter'angreal of some sort, or a weave gone bad... not so much killing them but placing them out of this dimension ala Moiraine (no I've not read the books so I don't know what really happened or anything like that so don't spoil it but we all have our theories)...

Going into the dreamworld and never coming back out... their bodies lye comotos in their beds unable to wake up... leave it hanging as to what happened inside the dreamworld.

*pokes head in and nods* Yeah, it's not exactly the hugs-and-kisses Ajah; if we killed an Amyrlin, why would we leave lesser Aes Sedai alive? It's just not good practice, that.

However, Elgee doesn't like any of my blathery suggestion/ideas, so that's fine. I'm the first to admit that I'm rubbish at generating such things!

Rae are all those characters yours! My word woman...*breathes* I can barely keep up with ONE how the heck do you keep up with that many. *nearly faints*

Elgee I like Mat's suggestion al la letting them be stuck in the Dreamworld or some such. That way if they come back it would be well sorta easy to get them back. I like Emily's suggestion too so really its up to you how you want to handle it Elgs. :)

What if a Forsaken orders the BA to kidnap an Ajah Head or two to pump them for information? Or get ahold of better information via the eyes and ears network? Or to turn them using a circle of 13 and then send them back into the world as powerful BA members? Would that satisfy both Elgee wanting the BA to be involved and a reasoning why the BA would keep these women alive? We don't have to actually rp them carrying these orders out - we can leave it up in the air and then if one/all of them return they can rp getting free?

*Grins at Rae* you are rather ... creative, dear

Flaming cowbells  I forgot to open this in a separate tab again, so now I don't know who said what. *Sigh*

Ok well let me just remind everyone that all 3 members in question could return at any time so:

1) we can't do anything permanent to their characters

2) we don't want to do anything out of character with their characters

3) they should be able to continue RPing their characters if/when they return, albeit not as Heads anymore

So, we need to come up with a way to do something with their characters that leads to their Ajahs replacing them as Heads almost immediately. This can happen to all 3 at the same time, or spaced over a few weeks at the most, with Jaydena being the last.

Someone mentioned one of the Forsaken taking a hand. This leads me to a question that's relevant to something else I have to do in the next few days, which is write up a short history of the WT. Does anyone know if there's a Forsaken in the Tower, as in the Books?

Still thing a mishap in the dreamworld putting them into a coma works well. You don't even have to explain what happened just that they never work up and no matter what you do you can't wake them up.

They for some reason I have no idea what could be decided that meeting in the dream world would be of all their best interest, they use special ter'angreal cause I doubt any of them have the dreamwalking ability and something bad happens in the dream world (let them figure it out when/if they come back) come morning someone notices X is missing goes to check on her finds her lying in bed and no one can wake her. Healing tried whatever else you'd like to try but nothing can wake them up... With out a leader they take up votes to find a new head.

All in all sending rumors through out the tower of why these three ppl from different ajahs were meeting in the first place. Many more rps can spawn from it.

While the BA will follow the DO's orders I don't think the suggestions offered up would work so well, if it did why hadn't they done it years ago?

I'm liking this, Mat *nod nod*

We could explain the "what" and leave the "why" and "how" up to speculation. ie the 3 Ajah Heads are all found in their beds, seemingly comatose. Nothing seems to wake them. After a few days, with no change in their condition, the Ajahs go about picking new Heads post haste.

Maybe at some stage one of those with the Talent of Dreamwalking (Phelix has that, but he's MiA :() could find them in the Dreamworld, locked up and asleep there too.

As for the "why" and "how": it could be that one of the Forsaken acting on the DO's orders to "let the Lord of Chaos rule" (or maybe even a Darkfriend Asha'man doing same) snatches them into the Dreamworld and imprisons them there. After all, having them alive but comatose could potentially cause even more chaos than having them just dead. Maybe they would think that it would delay the choosing of new Heads, since the sisters might keep hoping they would "wake up". Headless Ajahs ... much like headless chickens :P

Anyhoo, let me try to find Lor and get her approval on this.

Or to turn them using a circle of 13 and then send them back into the world as powerful BA members?

Never. Vehemently never. This is incredibly Goddershite, and will not be done as long as I have breath in my body to protest it. ;) If someone wants to end up Black, they better find a reason within themselves to go dark, not wah wah pretty princess forced-flounce. I'm aware that the threat was in the books, but the characters in question had a direct tie to the Dragon Reborn - springing suddenly Darkfriends on him would've been quite the shock!

Rae are all those characters yours! My word woman...*breathes* I can barely keep up with ONE how the heck do you keep up with that many. *nearly faints*

Heh, I'm only doing like.. one of them half-assedly right now. But even when I'm playing the lot, I commit to very few roleplays at a time. After all, it's about quality, not quantity.

Definitely no issues with Tel'aran'rhiod mishaps, though. *grins*

The three Wondergirls threatened did. I can't recall any other examples of anyone being threatened with forced turning in the series, though if you can think of one - I'd most definitely love to hear it. :)

As for the vehemence of my response - I've been an Aes Sedai for nearly 10 years. Raeyn was raised to the shawl on April 2nd, 2001. I had her join the Black Ajah about a month later (it worked out well for the gap in my roleplaying/activity that was Basic Training), making her the eldest remaining Black Ajah character on the site. I've seen so many crappy goddertastic ideas tossed around and called 'good' over the years that I'm not even going to waste my breath trying to say 'nice, but...'... it gets old. I do apologise if you feel stepped on, though - I don't tend to put enough warning signs across my ass that I don't candy-coat.

It's been talked about here on DM that Taim was possibly turned, and I think Sanderson himself has mentioned (if not then I know I read it in one or some of the reviews) that it would be in ToM - not that I'm going to talk about that book yet, of course.

I don't really understand how it's godmoding or whatever. It's been mentioned as a significant threat in the series, so it's not like we're pulling it out of thin air. Nonetheless, I can understand you not liking the idea - that's fine and that's your opinion. I wasn't even trying to say to do it, I was just brainstorming ideas- which I mentioned earlier in the string. It's also not up to me, so who really cares what I say? *laughs*

Also, I wasn't asking for candy coating, we're all adults here I'm assuming. I didn't understand the vehemence, but it's cool. Mine actually wasn't an 'angry' post - apologies if it sounded like that. It was more of an 'okay okay, I get it' post :p. If you're all good, then I'm all good though and I'd still like to rp with you sometime, like we've talked about before :).

edited for grammar mistake.

I like the dreamworld idea! That would also explain why we're sending a Green in Jade's place to that meeting! It actually justifies why our girl is poking around on Jade's desk in the first place!

Now, what do we do with the bodies? *laughs*

... Boooooopsie??

Actually, this is a good way to bring the Yellers into the story. 3 Aes Sedai knocked out for the count, and no-one can figure out why, I'm pretty sure the First Weaver will take a personal interest and have them moved into a room together in the Infirmary. Maybe Zarinen and Taydra will come to stare at them (Jade in particular), looking worried. Camigwen could even overhear them whispering something like "they need to pick a new Head quickly, and we need to find the others, if only to warn them of possible danger", put two and two together about Jade, then about how come Zarinen (a Red) and Taydra (a White) know that Jade (a Green) is/was the Head.

And that was a ramble ... just had to get it out there before the thought left me forever.

Haha. I'm hearing. I've been reading everything. I like the Dreaming thing.

As I was telling Elgee, the Yellows have an Infirmary of the Mind which is where we study the mind and help patients with mental problems. Once the Yellows have had a fieldday Delving the 3 sleepyHeads (pun intended) we'lll determine they are perfectly healthy except for our inability to wake them up. Thus Camigwen will transfer them to the Infirmary of the Mind where only Yellow sisters will be allowed in.

Rules of the Infirmary forbids Channeling. And there is a ter'angreal that gives a stedding-like effect in the room. There has to be that sorta sensitivity in mental wards. Anyway... my input is that Camigwen will forbid anyone else from visiting due to the nature of the wards, and somehow as Ajah Heads, you will feeel indignant and NEED to tell her what is going on. And then she'll figure out what's going on when she is told by the HALL that access needs to be given to certain people, namely the Heads. And she'll realise her patients aren't just usual Aes Sedai or Sitters, but quite powerful figures in the White Tower which can only mean.... DUM DUM DUM!! Ajah Heads.

*shrugs*

 whoever came up with that Infermarie of the Mind thing? ROFL.... 't is a good thing Boops is Yellow Head. He's crazy enough to put up with that sort of nonsense and flexible enough to bring a bit of realism to it, eventhough that seems to be almost an impossibility. lol.

Feel free to include the Browns in the research part of it, though you'll have to do that by referring to the Browns because I won't have time to be actively involved in it.

I'm also liking the dreamworld idea. Perhaps they all three stepped into something that triggered some leftover thing or other that put them to sleep. Crap idea, perhaps, but don't have much inspiration at the moment.
