No, it is not possible to turn a non-channeler....at least, not by the 13x13 method. Sheriam made it seem like it was something non-channelers didn't have to worry about, but it's not as if she knew everything or had no reason to lie. There might be another way. I suspect that Isam was raised to be a Darkfriend, but that Luc didn't have much choice in the matter. I could easily be wrong - just because he was a Mantear doesn't mean he couldn't have been a Darkfriend before - but if that was the case, then why did it take Gitara Moroso to get him to go to the Blight? Isam was waiting for him in the high passes, and that has an ominous ring to it. But also, one lived, and one died, but both are. That implies that one of them is dominant in a way, to me.

As for the other question...there's only really one who has garnered any real discussion over the years.

I am suspecting that Luc was a bit of a captive in the body until repeated trips to TAR in the flesh robbed him of his humanity. The scenes from WH show that even wrapped in his Luc indentity he's still a pretty evil dude now, right?

And on that note, I bid you all farewell. I was reading a thread around here last night, and I saw the words "I saw someone who got a copy of the book and revealed that Asmo's killer is...." and I literally had to rip my eyes away from the screen like a slow motion "NOOOOOOOoooooo...." moment in a movie with someone diving in front of a bullet

Too many serious spoilers floating around for me now, I'll see y'all in about 2 weeks.....

I'm really starting to feel the same way - I feel bad for Luckers:

A wonderful individual just sent me a message saying 'Hey Luckers, just got the book, how cool is it when THIS happens'.

I didn't wanna know that. Don't ever repeat it.

I'll sign back in after I read the book. Happy reading.

Terez, are you able to say whether or not we get Taim on screen at all? Any sort of flashing image or some such Id say would count as a yes

Someone answered that question (and posted a lot of major spoilers) in the "Discuss The Full Book" thread.

I dont want to talk about the full book

Something I have been wondering/hoping, will we get any kind of update to the Ogier situation? Not even asking if we get a PoV or see everyone's favorite Ogier, just if that aspect of the story is progressed since the marriage and decision to address the Stump in KoD.

Oooooooh Terez... :D

Is there any Aviendha POVs? If you don't think you can answer that, what about Aviendha screen time and how much is there of it (if any)?

Aviendha has a small yet huge role to play in this book. You will dig it.

This thread is pure torture.. My book wont be here for almost a week, and we get these tantalizing hints about something we had wet dreams about for a year now. TO DAMNATION WITH YOU ALL!

Bah, I live more than an hour from Seoul. I wont get it until the 7-14th. I'll probably break down and get the audio book before that. At least I can afford it this time around.

It's sad to see that Avi only gets a small role, but I'll trust you in that it's a small but important role. Either way, More Avi, less Elayne/Min please! D;

I've been displeased with Min ever since she went to Cadsuane for help with Rand, no matter what her reasoning was :3

If The Gathering Storm is anything to go by Rand will probably give him the Crystal Throne or something.

I'm sorry--sore point for me. But why on earth was Rand thinking about giving the Throne of Amadicia to Ituralde? Rand did not hold that throne, he had no intention of conquering it--in point of fact doing so went against the desperately desired peace with the Seanchan--so why was he thinking about who he would give it to?

Rant over. :)

Yea, I think it's a sore point for quite a few of us. Though I think part of it has do with preventing any Cairhienin from gaining too much power or influence. Due to the whole Colavere fiasco and the outcome of that. Along with preventing anyone to have the ability to oppose Elayne taking the throne in Cairhien. Thats really the only way it makes sense to me. Does Rodel even have any experience ruling anything? I can only hope he'll throw out some cookie for Dobraine.

Any sightings of everyone's favorite Amyrlin turned damane in the book?

The answer to questions like that lies with Team Jordan and the beta readers. Apparently nobody is bothering to fact check.

Frankly, with the last battle getting pretty close now, how is it that they are even THINKING about who rules where ? I cant't for the life of me understand why it is important to decide NOW who should have the Sun Throne. current situation is more than adequate to get past a few months and past the LB. When it's all over, we can think of something else.

Or Rand was willing to say anything to get Ituralde to guard the blight?

Or Maria and Harriet were not involved enough in writing and left it too late to actually edit the book, or any number of things. I'm not convinced the team behind the books deserve all that much credit compared to BS and RJ as they've been getting.

That's a rather insulting thing to say. And based on absolutely nothing. Rand had every reason to promise something to Ituralde to get him on board. He was targetting a fast peace agreement with Tuon, wanted to get something usefull of Ituralde i.e. going to the Blight. That makes sense.

Oh, Team Jordan earns their keep. Harriet is an editor with prose as her main area of concentration...people complain about Brandon's prose but Brandon says that Harriet did wonders for it, so I'm content to believe that it would have been much more jarring without her. And Maria at least has proved her worth time and again...she caught an error RJ made on the Questions of the Week, for example. The beta readers...problem there is that the only one of them I know that is an actual expert on the books is Linda. The others are good compared to most people, but not as good as, for example, me and Luckers. Which is why they should totally put us on the team!
