Brandon just indicated that the hunt is winding down, and that it should be done by next week. So, we'll get chapter one (assuming that's what it is) before we get the prologue, or around the same time.

Brandon also mentioned that the latter codes will unlock more content than the others, and the last code will unlock a large amount.

From Brandon: 'Note, this clue is filed under "No hint is too obscure for Theoryland." The hint is: "Third" (More hints on this code will come.)' And later: 'Okay, another hint about the code I hinted at last night. This hint is connected to last night's. "Chapter 53"' Brandon told Rob Moreau at Mysterious Galaxy: 'Brandon said combine third and chapter 53. Together those make one clue for a two word "title".' Brandon then added another clue: 'Time for another hint about the code related to "third" and "chapter 53." It is: "The one I choose." All are clues to one word. ' Check out a discussion on the subject on Theoryland. Please note that the discussion begins with all of us in ignorance of the second hint (and all following hints, of course). This clue may or may not be related to the next two clues. Helpful hints: the third chapter 53 of the series is actually in TSR, since TGH didn't have one ('The Price of a Departure', where Perrin marries Faile). The last ch. 53 in the series is in LOC; the most we've had since then is 50 (TGS). Also, we assume this has to do with a previous ch. 53 since we don't know anything about ch. 53 of TOM except that it's 3 after the heartbreaking one. Ch. 53 of TFOH, 'Fading Words', deals with Moiraine's letter, and ties in with the previous chapter, 'Choices'. Ch.s 53 of TDR, TSR, and LOC all deal with Perrin. (A Flow of the Spirit, The Price of a Departure, and The Feast of Lights)

 

This is the most fun one at the moment. But then there is this one:

 

Peter Ahlstrom kindly pointed out that one of our guesses was only off by one word. Here is a shortlist of guesses that are eligible for alteration, with more info.

It has been speculated the Brandons favourite character or the one he is most like is Perrin. Perrin has 3 chapter 53 where he is the main character in the chapter. I wonder if it is the third of those??

In that case, you need to look at LOC 53, The Feast of Lights (when Perrin sets off to rescue Rand from the box and is scandalized by Cairhienin acting crazy in the streets).

And operating off of the guesses / assumptions on my part:

* Third and 53 meaning the third chapter 53, which would be "The Price of a Departure" in tSR

* That 7-7-9 refers to a word, and that the word would be the same regardless of book edition

Brandon doesn't work on Sundays, so it's no surprise that there aren't any new codes dropped. There will probably be a couple dropped later today. Aside from that, we've got several clues as posted earlier -- I like the 7th paragraph, 7th sentence, 9th word idea (don't have any copies of the book to check, though).

 

BTW, I've noticed that the third word of three of the Chapter 53 titles is "of." As is the third word of five of the 14 WOT titles. I doubt there's much there, though. I was going to try some "of" two-word phrases, such as "of promises," "Of winds," "Of browns" or something like that, but my browser isn't running the Great Hunt page properly.

Yeah, this chapter almost certainly deals with Mat and Co. checking into the Seven Striped Lass, Thom talking to people about the "Queen" (he needs to reunite with Elayne) and Mat facing off (and hopefully finishing) the Gholam. All the mentions of "foxhead [medallion]", "dice", "gholam", and "blood and ashes" almost confirms this. Also, notice the entire thing ends with:
