Alys, I understand the desire to get information about the relics out there so that more people can understand, but if your posts were any less specific about the information you yourself have, I'd be wondering if you were aiming to get people talking too much to instigate some mod kills.  I personally believe that you really are just trying to get us to talk about it so that we can control the game better.  I also noted that Kivam is saying no conversation about relics on the thread so the mafia and any others with QTs may have a leg up on the innocents there.

A word about the Vessel... Kivam says no one knows who it is.  That includes the mafia, so it's equally possible that they'll shoot themselves in the foot and NK the Vessel without knowing it unless Kivam has something built in to protect the Vessel from the mafia.

I find Quibby's idea about post mortem role changes having to do with the Vessel interesting and am especially intrigued to see if both Thorum and Jeran return.  I also wonder if them returning isn't to make it harder to find the vessel.  A completely unsubstantiated stray thought was whether or not the resurrected would be affected if we did find and kill the Vessel somehow.  I could see them being instantly rekilled or turned into another faction or something similar, especially if the resurrection is something the mod built in rather than something a player is initiating.  Again, that was a random thought and not something I have any proof of.  I've had a lot of thoughts like that about games I'm in lately where I know the mods have extremely non-standard set-ups and the ideas are mostly wrong, but I find it fun to think about what they might have done.  :)

Would you believe me if I said I thought Aemon might be hinting at being the Vessel right before the mod said that no one knows who it is?  Would you believe me if I said that I wondered if Aemon has a reason for wanting to be lynched?  :P  Would you believe me if I also said that I wondered if these ideas were just brought on by the confusion of Aemon always asking if we'd believe him?  Aren't PRs fun?  :D

As for my vote...

We're going on a bear hunt!  (We're going on a bear hunt!)

We're going to catch a big one!  (We're going to catch a big one!)

I'm not afraid!  (I'm not afraid!"

Are you?  (Are you?)

Not me!  (Not me!)

... oh wait... bear hunt cancelled on account of either a really annoying role or a really annoying relic (which I'm pretty sure either DPR or one of his teammates has, especially based on when that day ended).  And I was just about to post my  incredibly detailed analysis of how I was voting and why.  :P

The vessel was randomly selected from the player pool before the game began and before roles were assigned.  That player has been and will remain the vessel throughout, regardless of whether they die or are resurrected.

*doesn't usually give mod info, but since this is a new and slightly ridiculous tweak to game dynamics, I want to make sure this is clear to all  ;D*

Someone has a kill shot. Again. I wonder if it is a voter or a behind the scenes play.

How lovely.  Oh, and we have a silencer in the game.

I wondered where you went, Nae.

Thanks for the vote of semi-confidence… ? I’m trying to find the boundary where he stomps just as much as anyone else who has been willing to speak. I’d risk a mod-kill myself, but I won’t ask anyone to go any further than I have already been.  And I haven’t yet.

I could see them being instantly rekilled or turned into another faction or something similar,

They or someone may already BE another faction.

especially if the resurrection is something the mod built in rather than something a player is initiating.

That is something I briefly thought about, but Kivy said res MAY happen… So I’ve been thinking not so much unless it is a random chance.

Personally, I would not be surprised to find out that the players being ressurected are in fact a cult of some sort that has a random chance of bringing players back from the dead. so, finding out the alignment of at least one of those who died previously and is no longer dead may not be such a bad idea. Whether it is by finder or lynch.

The vessel doesn't know that they are the vessel. If people don't start playing, I'm going to show up at their house and embarrass them in front of their families.

"Ahoy! I do be the Dread Pirate Roberts, and it seems that Skippy[your name here] has been neglectin' his[her] duties to the mafia...be warned!"

I was sleeping! Gotta do that from time to time.

I had a few pages to go through, I see two votes then the topic changes to night...what in holy hell happened? I don't like this, I don't like it at all. Being able to lynch with so few. I'm wondering if it isn't somehow related to DPR...like he couldn't remove his vote from Alys, now his vote has levelled up and instantly lynches whoever he votes for. Scary power that.

Well, I like the idea of viewing someone who was resurrected. We have Al and Wombat, yes? I don't know how much information I will be given but it's worth a shot I suppose, though there is someone else I really really want to view right now, been pinging me but I have nothing to go off except my own intuition.

You can view me, but like I said I'm innocent. I do have a role now, not that important. To the best of my knowledge I am not in any type of cult. However I don't know if it is some time delay thing. This resurrection thing seems to powerful for the town so there must be a balance... It may be the sacrifice theory, does anyone who knows the literature have an opinion of how this compares?

Aside from that the quick thing that I want to say before going to work is this. I didn't have either of the two relics so I can speculate all I want.

There is a pair of relics that need to be used together. They are Anti-town and are involved in summoning the evil God. I think this means the vessel when all the cult members are dead. I'm not sure how the two relics need to be used however I have a dreadful feeling that they are both in mafia hands right now. I think Alys had one then Pookie stole it, which in turn was stolen from him. Quibby had the other one. Anyone have any ideas on how to counter this? I might have more information to add, but I'll have to ask Kivam.

Lavinya, DPR might also be a good target. However beware that they might have a role re-director. It's your choice, good luck tonight. Also Barm I am suspicious of your last few posts as well. I will look into it.

Nae... *Shrugs in reply*

Gotta be honest- I have no idea what to think of DPR anymore.  He votes, and all of a sudden we have a dead player who's so far from having enough votes to do the job that it isn't even funny.  Is somebody trying to set him up, or does he have the ultimate voting power?

Posted

I wish I knew, but something awfully fishy is going on here. DPR has me worried about the power of his vote, like I said before because of the vote on Alys he couldn't seem to remove, and then the lynch straight after his vote on Crusher. I wonder if he truly did know what was going on, just acted dumb? Perhaps he PMs his vote, and it can only be removed by PM, and his show about unvoting was just that, a show. Maybe his vote counts for a whole lot more than one. Maybe when it was on Alys it wasn't quite enough, but with a couple of votes on Crusher, it was enough to lynch? Really have no idea here, just speculating.

Yes Tigraine, I viewed someone last night. I was told they were not mafia. I don't receive any information pertaining to roles, but like Barm said I don't want to make them a target. If they were suddenly a good candidate for lynch in everyone's eyes I may feel the need to speak up, but until then I will keep their identity safe.

DPR...do you have any suspicions about the lynch on Crusher?

First:

Was it you or was it me?

Or was it he or she?

Was it A or was it B?

Or was it X or Z?

(I almost forgot this time!)

The lynch on Crusher follows the pattern of the lynch on Al of having the vote close and the person with the highest number of votes lynched.  I think it's a relic or a role that ends day early and not a super-charged DPR vote.  Though I do think the early close was to his benefit.

I have never stolen from Alys.  She's never even been my target.

I find it likely that the early day was either a relic or role that just ended day and the player with the most votes was lynched.  Occam's Razor, yo.

I don't think that was DPR's doing....more likely somebody trying to frame him.

Posted

well, someone benefited from the early lynch, but it doesnt have to be DPR. to me it just looks like someone waited for someone to have more votes than another. Then again, you never know with Wes.

As far as Crusher's death goes, I'm leaning toward it having very little to do with him.  I say this because if I was mafia and had control over ending a day early to clinch a lynch, I would have taken out Lavinya. Obviously, I thiefed her to see if her claim was real, or relic driven. If she's for real, then she's a resource that absolutely must be protected...but that's not news.

I do think that the day ending early sounds more like a relic was used, and it looks like somebody was eager to get back to night. Could be so that the cult could recruit - I'm not thinking mafia NK because of the resurrections - but the cult seems to be the focus in this game anyway.

I'll go back to see who posted right before that happened to see if somebody left any footprints.

Posted

Heh, not relic driven, which you'll find out as soon as Kivam send out his PMs. Sorry to disappoint  :-*

And yeah, I don't know if it was a mafia tactic, unless they were just looking to nab any innocent with a few votes. *shrugs* Not knowing roles upon death though, it's hard to know just who/what we've lost. Curse your evil hide, Kivam! ;)
