2. We don't have a time limit, so the idea of jumping on a bandwagon just for the hell of it is a scum move - it makes me think that someone is eager to get to Night so that they can wheel into action.

Excepting in your last game, no one ever gets info on day one, so it’s not really scummy to bandwagon on day one. There were votes out for about a third to half the players in the game. Few are talking seriously. Only about half are talking in the first place.

Alys jumped in with an excuse that made a good cover for his actions

Normal for me. *smiles* You know this.

when they came back, they both made light of my accusation - Alys votes for Thorum for no apparent reason.

It is not particularly scummy to want to get your hands on something that would give you info. Check the rules. You only learn about them through having them is what I get. Can’t talk about what you would learn on thread, so… Everyone should be wanting to steal them in order to learn. Al (sorry for calling you a she) seemed to only be pointing out what others had seen, so your reason is a small one. *shrugs* Making more of it doesn’t help you.

Also, Alys is a fan of info. Alys will bandwagon day one if it means there is more information to be had by moving away from it. Alys will not bandwagon other days unless necessary. Night gives info just as well as opportunity, like it or not. You don’t learn anything about the interactions of people if you never move away from the table and look from afar.

I also know that Alys would not stick her neck out on Day1 like that for no good reason, and defending a team-mate would not be a good enough reason in my book, so I'm not trying to lead a lynch here.

Nope, but worth pointing out merits as well faults of any argument. And nope, wouldn’t work to openly for a team mate. And it seems like you are trying to back up a future attempt at something.

I'm gonna vote Verbal because he doesn't have any votes and just in case we get set a deadline w/out my realizing it I don't wanna get modkilled.

Spreading votes out is generally counterproductive.  And there is no rule *looked it up in case* about having to have a vote on a player to avoid modkill.

I think that if you and I keep this up, we'll give lots of people some new ideas... :P

Tell me once and for all that you saw nothing in Al's post, and I'll drop it and focus elsewhere.

I saw him threaten to do something others already appeared to be trying. I saw what could translate into a warning as well.

Alys?  I don;t think you and I have ever played together before.  Im just wondering what you meant by it's normal for you to jump in and make an excuse for Al.  Is it just Al?  Or is it in every game?  Or is it only when your scum?  Not as familiar with everyone so that kinda jumped out at me.

3. As long as we stay active, we won't get a time limit - so why don't we do the obvious: Get everyone talking and posting so that we can size them up. This will also give us some idea of what's out there. Like Al's comment to me - he has an eye on me - what do we figure that means? What else will we turn up.

And, for posterity, here's how I see the event earlier today

I called Al out on a post that pinged my radar - he responded weirdly - I voted for him - Alys jumped in with an excuse that made a good cover for his actions - they both went on radio silence - when they came back, they both made light of my accusation - Alys votes for Thorum for no apparent reason.

Now, I really don't want to turn this into a witchhunt. It could be as they have both said it is and my radar might have just been tweaked. I also know that Alys would not stick her neck out on Day1 like that for no good reason, and defending a team-mate would not be a good enough reason in my book, so I'm not trying to lead a lynch here.

But, I'm still pinged by Al, and I never cared one bit about trying to thief him - which I think is obvious.

I think you already sent your thief PM in earlier today and so I would agree that you aren't. However I think it is just the opposite of obvious. If I could direct everyone's attention to page 22: You'll see 5 consecutive posts by DPS (Minus one by our Moderator). You kept hounding me to respond to you and trying to say I was suspicious for not responding. Even if I wasn't busy at the time I still wouldn't have posted. It is stupid to rise to people prodding you, especially if you see that it works and will use it later in the game to steal anything I might have acquired or stole from you *laughs*. Obvious... Psh, LLL.

3. I agree with you that going back and forth does help bring out information. I do have this feeling you're setting me up. Well at least I do now thanks to Alys pointing it out, I don't plan on underestimating you or the other reknown players here. I actually joined this game just to see what it would be like to play against the 'older players'.

~ Well I'm surprised that my what third post that you've seen pings your radar, well maybe 5th including Pete's game. However you'll see that I'm a little weird like most people around here. I also play in a different way than most people. I won't lie as some people here know. From the limited play I have seen of some others, I think I play similarly to Verbal. You've been using obscure terms like 'weird, fidgety, odd' if you wish I can expound on anything in particular that you wish me to, however it just seems you are just trying to prod me to see a reaction not because you honestly think what you are saying.

-- Alys, as much as I appreciate your help and know that you're doing it for your own motivations and out of your own desires I would prefer to defend myself. When I see people 'agreeing' or even not arguing with one another it leads me to believe they are mafia. I don't think anything this blatant would ever happen this early in the game, but still for my peace of mind at least let me post first for the next response please?

I agree with DPR and Crusher. We need to get day 1 over and get some info. I'm staying with vote on Quibby (cause it's still a funny name) and encourage everyone to jump on my bandwagon due to the solid logic and the hours of thought that went into the decision.

EDIT: ROFLMAO. That's hilarious, Nae!

This post pinged my radar for some reason.

[glow=red,2,300]Aemon[/glow]

LOL. Good one, Wombat. The reason it's pinging your radar is that you really want to pick my pocket.

[glow=red,2,300]Aemon[/glow] is scum.

That was your first post of the game. How many times are you gonna vote for me?  :D

You'd like to make everyone think that wouldn't you?  Would I be so obvious?  Probably.  But that's beside the point!  The frivolity of your post seemed forced to me.  Forced frivolity is scummy!

Vote [glow=red,2,300]Thorum[/glow]

DPRs reasoning seems about as good as anything else we've got thus far. As much as I'd love to watch Quibby burn, he can wait in the face of a decent(ish) target.

My 2 cents:  I'm most suspicious of DPR right now, and mainly due to what Alys mentioned about backing up a future attempt (i.e. laying breadcrumbs).  It is a scummy move, and therefore makes me suspicious.

Hmmm...Wombat why are you so keen on Aemon?

And I agree, DPR has been making me suspicious this entire game but then again, so has everyone else.

After reading the last few pages... I can't really make up my mind, but honestly Thorum is really pinging my radar at this point, and Alys makes a good point.

Info is needed and if a bandwagon is what we should do, then go for it.

One of the obvious signs of the eventual collapse of the civilized world has to be the inexcusable shrinking of the marshmallow size in Lucky Charms.  No way mankind survives this, no way.

Anox?  What exactly did Thorumn post that is pinging your radar?

i think crusher asked me a question a bit ago. no, not defending the person. defending the post.

al, i by no means try to make anyone's argument for them. i was poking holes is all. dpr jumped a bit hard so i poked back.

This.

What has Thorum done that warrants lynching him?  I don't like this wagon that's forming right now.

Hm.  What I get out of this is, "Alys, don't defend me because I don't want to vote for you."

Random question time:

Does anyone think that there any possibility we might be dealing with two mafias/cults/whatever we call them in this game?  The Cthulhu Mythos definitely allows for the possibility, with followers of Hastur clashing with followers of Cthulhu.

(Sorry, I'm thinking out loud again.)

Pretty much. She hasn't done anything scummy so far and has been nice to me. Now I know that shouldn't effect how one votes, but 'meh'. I haven't given her any reason to trust me really and although like she points out that she was defending the 'post', I know that I will vote for her if it keeps happening, because I'll be suspicious of some type of gambit.

As for Thorum he still needs 5 more votes, which isn't to hard to accomplish. And it is hard to stop or derail a wagon once it starts. If the voting gets closer to 13 I'll remove my vote however I am waiting to hear Thorum convince me he is innocent. There isn't a death sentence on him, but there is enough pressure to wait and see what happens.

I re-read and didn't get any pings on anyone. I don't really want to join the wagon on Thorum now, but I think I want a bit of vote consolidation.

Dude - you start your post with a question about the reasons for lynching Thorum - answer it by defending Alys - and then say that a few more votes for Thorum shouldn't be hard to accomplish. Really?

Really?

This is ridiculous.  :P

if you want to vote me, by all means do it. don't play games about it. i get votes for that sort of thing at least once a game.

quibby dear, is there something we should know? if recall works, and it may not, this is not the first time you have tried to hint at such a thing.
