Tynaal, you've earned 12,5/20 for the scavenger hunt challenge. As they do not make a different in the overall result, the points that would have weighed towards correct have been kept as they are.

1. What is the Collam Daan and where was it located? A University and in V'saine

2. How did people travel in the Age of Legends without the One Power? Walking, Jo-cars, Jumpers, Hoverflies and sho-wings

3. Name 3 cities that were considered ‘technological jewels’ Paaran Disen, V'saine, M'jinn - you had a choice between: Paaran Disen, M’Jinn, Comelle, Mar Ruois, Adanza (source: BWB)

4. What was most important in the AoL and how could it be obtained? a "third" name, by a great service to the community - Status & Honor, through service to the community (counted as half right)

5. Name 3 professions were mainly dominated by Aes Sedai in the AoL? scientists, healers and philosophers - you had a choice between: Healing, mining, optimisation of farmland, technological research and development, creation of living constructs such as the chora tree and the Nym, making of angreal (counted as half right, considering the many different choices available)

6. Where was the main Hall of the Servants located? Paraan Disen

7. What are Streith and Fancloth and what were they characteristics? Fancloth: creats an almost perfect camouflage effect(used by Warders). Streith: a shimmering material that changed color to match the wearer's mood.

8. How was crime dealt with in the AoL? - The criminals were constraint in such a way that they were incapable of repeating the same crime twice.

9. Who lay at the beginning of the end of the AoL and what exactly was done to start that end? Mierin Eronaile; Opening the Bore - Mierin and Beidomon bore a whole in the Pattern, believing it to be a way to unify Saidin and Saidar, but in fact was the door to the DO’s prison and in doing so released his evil into the World. (counted as half, though weighing towards correct for adding the second name of Mierin)

10. What were Dreadlords? Channeling Commanders of the DO's Trolloc armies - Aes Sedai who joined the ranks of the DO (counted as half. The fact that they are former Aes Sedai is important because it increases the weight of their crime. Will weigh towards correct if it is the deciding point)

11. What started the War of the Shadow? The opening of the bore - A quick strike in an attempt to free the DO by the Friends of the Dark.  (the drilling into the bore itself didn't start it. The decision to strike in order to free the DO fully instead of helping to close it again did)

12. What is another name for the War of the Shadow and why was it called so? War of Power, because it was the war between Dark and Light for Power (dominion) - War of the Power, because the OP was now used as a weapon (counted as half. Name is correct, reason is not)

13. One use of the OP was stopped by both sides almost simultaneously. What was it and why did they stop using it? Balefire, because they risked unraveling the weave of time itself

14. Who was the Lord of the Morning and what was his function at the time the War of the Shadow arrose? Lews Therin Telamon.  Dragon during the War of Power. The most powerful man of his time, he was chosen to lead the Ogier, the human warmen, and the Aes Sedai in their fight against the Shado - Lews Therin Telamon, he was the most powerful man of his time and High Seat of the Hall of Servants.  (counted as half because his title High Seat was not given)

15. What is the original name of the ‘Betrayer of Hope’?Elan Morin Tedronai.

16. How many Aes Sedai formed the group that accompanied Lews Therin to seal the bore and what was that group called? The Hundred Companions ; 113

17. Name 5 other names for the DO Leafblighter, Soulburner, Lord of the Grave, Shepherd of the Night, Heartsbane, Soulsbane - you had a choice between: Father of lies, Sightblinder, Old Grim, Leafblighter, Shepherd of the Night, Heartsbane, Soulsbane, Lord of the Grave, Grassburner, Heartfang, Shai’tan (counted as half, weighing towards correct)

18. What is the one thing that is absolutely certain to be beyond the DO’s abilities? Bring the dead back after they've been balefired. - To break free of his prison, for which he needs the help of others. (counted as correct as this is indeed also true)

19. What is a forsaken’s greatest goal? to become Nae'blis

20. who were called the People of the Dragon in the AoL and why? the Aiel, because they were carrying important goods that belonged to the Aes Sedai - Da’shain Aiel, for standing with the Lord Dragon (Lews Therin) and keeping to the Covenant known as the Way of the Leaf, meaning they stayed out of the fighting

[glow=red,2,300]Tynaal[/glow], you have failed in your challenge and are therefore challenged again. As you have submitted your answers well before the given deadline you are granted the remainder of this time to work on your new challenge rather than having to wait your turn again.

As this is your second challenge, the conditions for winning are increased and you now need to get 18/20 in order to succeed your challenge. You only need to retake the part of the challenge you failed and so this one contains only a scavenger hunt.

You have till Sunday evening to complete this challenge.

Note to others: please refrain from posting answers here, but feel free to participate in private if you want.

Tynaal, you have earned 17/20 on this challenge and technically have failed this challenge.

However, two of the incorrect questions have been labeled 'weighing towards correct' and it has been decided to weigh the overall result in your favor.

Congratulations, you have earned your freedom and may leave the dungeon. :)

Kara and I will convene over the next one to be called forward.

Next time I really shouldnt do it at 2am ;D

1. What does Djevik K'Shar mean? The Dying Ground

2. Who are the Da'shain Aiel? They were the servants of the Aes Sedai in the AoL, and they swore never to do violence

3. What was the last duty the Aes Sedai bestowed upon the ancient Aiel? To bring a cache of angreal, sa'angreal, and ter'angreal to the place that would one day become the site of Rhuidean. - To bring the Angreal and Ter’Angreal to safety (counted as half. The Aes Sedai of the AoL did not tell them to take it to a specific location, only to keep it safe. The location that became Rhuidean was choosen by the Jen'Aiel themselves after long years of wandering)

4. Which group of people today are the descendants of the ones that first broke the Covenant? Tuatha'an

5. What is the name of the first Maiden of the Spear? Morin

6. What is the difference between the Jenn Aiel and the Aiel? The Jenn Aiel means the truly dedicated, they followed the way of the leaf. The Aiel were first "created" when a group of them killed in self-defense and so could not follow the Way of the Leaf anymore and so became warriors and the protectors of the Jenn Aiel

7. What is Avendoraldera and why is it important in the Aiel history? Its a cutting of the Avendesora, the Tree of Life, which the Aiel gave to Cairhien as a present of gratitude and when cut down by King Laman was the cause of the Aiel war.

8. Chaendaer is one of the most important places of the Aiel. Why? It is where a man asks the right to enter Rhuidean. It is the place from where people travelling to Rhuidean leave off from the others and go alone. - The name of the Mountain of the Valley where Rhuidean is located (counted for half, not only the males are sent there to be tested to become Clan Chiefs. Future Wise Ones also are sent there. The asking to be tested can be done anywhere.)

9. How is a clan chief chosen? They are chosen from among the clan's male members by the Wise Ones, who must agree to allow them to travel to Rhuidean. If he returns, he becomes the new clan chief.

10. What daily chore is done by the children and the gai'shain? They tend roof and terrace gardens of the Hold

11. which groups can not be made gai'shain according to the code? Wise Ones, blacksmiths, children, and women with a child under the age of ten

12. Gai'shain serve for a specific number of time. How long do they serve? A year and a day

13. What happens to a child born from a Maiden? She must forfeit her spear or her child. - Is given to another woman of the Aiel without anyone knowing who the child comes from (counted as half, but weighing towards correct. The question was what happened to the child, not what choice a maiden had upon having a child.)

14. What was the secret reason the ancient Aes Sedai gave the Aiel their last duty? To keep them safe

15. Who can travel the Aiel Waste at will today (prior to the Car'a'carn)? Peddlers, Aes Sedai, Gleemen and Tinkers

16. What happens to a Maiden's weapons when she becomes and Apprentice to the Wise Ones? They are melted down and turned into 6 objects - They are destroyed and the metal pieces are made into non-weapon items to be given away (counted correct, as the spirit of the question was answered)

17. What is valued above all else in the Aiel Society? Ji'e'toh

18. Who decides when toh has been met? the person who it is owed to - The one meeting the toh themselves decide when their toh has been met (as the Wise Ones explain to Egwene when she meets her toh to them: only the one that loses toh can determine when their toh has been restored. They only declare that she has no toh to them after Egwene sets herself ready to receive more punishment. Each Wise One speaks for herself personally, not for the others. Gai'shain accept the service of the year and a day for the restoration of thier own honor. In theory they 'could' refuse it, though that would make them instantly outcasts of the entire Aiel society, including their own sept and clan. The two Maidens being captured with Faile are one example of this, as they refuse to join her escape for that would mean they forfeit their honor).

19. When is someone called a first-sister/brother? When they are born from the same Mother, or if Near-sisters/brothers have gone through a ritual of bonding performed by the Wise Ones. - when they have the same mother (counted as half, though weighing towards correct. Near-sisters/brothers are not the same as First-sisters/brothers. The fact that one have the same mother and the other go through the ritual indicates the difference)

20. 'The Lost Ones' is a term used by both the Aiel as well as the Tinkers for one another. What is the meaning behind the term for both sides? The Tinkers are called Lost ones by the Aiel for causing the first split and then Tinkers call the Aiel Lost Ones for losing the Way of the Leaf

Kara and Myst make their way to the dungeon, motioning for the guards to open the remaining occupied cells.

Rasheta, Vanion, Lilly, Ireond and Twinflower,

Considering your situations in real life and all the hurdles and difficulties you are currently going through, we have decided to set you free. You will each have a chance to complete a challenge when the time comes that circumstances allow for you to do so.

Rasheta, Vanion and Lilly: you can let Kara know when you are up for a challenge which will then be posted on the Green boards.

Ireond and Twinflower, you can let me know when your circumstance allows you to take on your challenge which will be posted on the Red boards.

As all dungeon dwellers that were able to finish their challenge have successfully earned back their freedom, we now declare our strike officially over. ;D

Thank you all for your sportmanship and we hope you had at least a bit of fun doing the challenges :)

Kara & Myst

I'm just glad I was AWOL that week, or I would have been in there too....lol

As you should have been, Samlove, because when there's trouble around here, you're always involved somehow. As usual, you slithered out of punishment, though.  :P :-*
