Perrin is an awesome character. He did go a bit downhill after the Faile kidnapping, but he's still not as much a bore to read as Rand, Gawyn, or Egwene.

Apart from Mat and Nynaeve, he's my favorite character to read.

Egwene is kind of boring, especially with the entire constant strange bondage fetish thing that's going on with her, but she probably shouldn't die.

I don't see why anyone would want Egwene dead.

If someone really dislikes Egwene, there's a lot worse than death that can befall her. Consider the following scenario at the conclusion to the series:

A. The White Tower's power political has been marginalized, due to nations growing strong to the point where they can feel confident in disagreeing with Tar Valon and not suffering repercussions.

B. The White Tower's claim to its strength has been marginalized, as other groups have emerged that possess men and women who can channel in greater numbers than the White Tower.

C. Egwene manages to offend Elayne by ordering Elayne Sedai to stand with the White Tower against Rand; Elayne leaves the Aes Sedai organization so as not to be bound by Tower law, and Egwene loses her most powerful ally and a good friend.

D. Egwene manages to offend Nynaeve the same way, losing another friend and in the long term a huge amount of influence in the Borderlands.

E. The Wise Ones learn of Egwene sneaking off into TAR when she wasn't supposed to, and what she did to Nynaeve to preserve her secret. Further, Egwene refuses to meet her toh to Rhuarc when he shows up at FOM. The Wise Ones opinion of Egwene drops dramatically and she loses their respect.

F. Rand appoints Berelain and Galad to ensure that the Dragon Peace holds, and Mayene becomes Wheel of Time equivalent of the United Nations, with embassies from every world power there, and disputes between the world powers arbitrated by Berelain.

If all of that were to come to pass with Egwene as Amyrlin, I think that her life might be a long and bitter one. If you dislike Egwene, hope for that scenario to come to pass: Egwene knowing that she was at the helm when the White Tower slipped from being the most important institution in the world to being just another school.

lay down the crack pipe mate.

The Aes Sedai under egwene will still be the most powerful force in randland especially after the agreement between the wiseones and sea folk and aes sedai. When the ashaman do join up their female counterpart after the black tower is razed to the ground, who do u think is going to lead the newly united Aes SEdai? rand?lol

I don't it ever being a real agreement because I think the hall will throw a fit and then the seafolk will figure out Egwene's trying to manipulate them into the tower. The tower is in decline, but for Egwene and Saerin it'd be seanchan held, and now Egwene seems determined to let it fall the rest of the way.

Maybe not Rand, but certainly not Egwene, Elan. You don't really think she would be acceptable to the Asha'man, do you? Even the Wise Ones, whose love and admiration for Egwene is so often emphasized, don't really want her leadership.

the lord dragon will not be in charge once tarmon gaidon is done. he is done. he will retire.

the ashaman will join the aes sedai in that huge tower elaida was building. the black tower will finished in the opening few chapters of the enxt book.

the leaders are going to be egwene and logain. People should start get used to the new world order piotrek.

if it wasn't for egwene, logain would be a dead man in salidar.

The Black Tower won't be razed. It will be the new home of the Kin.

Agree about Elaida's tower. That's pretty obvious, I think. I really don't know how people don't see it.

There is no way that Egwene is in sole command of the unified Aes Sedai. There will definately be a male counterpart, presuambly Logain.

What is unclear is just how important the Aes Sedai (male and female) will be after the Last Battle. I think that it is not impossible that there will be no channeling. Tar Valon might become, in essence, a college town.

Egwene and Logain I can see. I thought you meant Egwene as a sole leader of both male and female Aes Sedai. It would be impossible, not least because it would run counter to the whole balance theme. But I guess you weren't really saying that.

I don't see how channeling can disappear with cyclical time. Unless the Wheel really is broken, but the world somehow survives...

EDIT: Or the next Age has no channeling, but channeling returns in next Ages.

Perrin is the basis of the later turnings of the wheel myths of Thor, and Thor dies at Ragnerok.

Actually according to Gaiman, Thor died of a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.

As was Odin too, apparently.

I have always liked perrin and i think him going crazy over faile makes him seem more wild like the wolfbrother he is. As for egwene i go back and forth liking her and then hating her. Im a torn fellow i suppose. Sometimes the attitudes alot of the women in the series displays towards men most of the time irritates me.
