The Champions of Indie... MODEST MOUSE Modest Mouse is an American indie rock formed in 1993 with singer/lyricist/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, bassist Eric Judy, and guitarist Dann Gallucci. They have released five studio albums over the course of their 15 year career, including their fourth album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News, which brought them mainstream recognition. The album contained their two most popular singles, “Float On” and “Ocean Breathes Salty”, which still enjoy widespread radio play today. Their most recent album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, was their first album to reach number one on the US Billboard 200 charts. The band plans to tour with R.E.M. and The National in 2008. BOB DYLAN Bob Dylan (born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, author, musician, poet, artist, and, of late, disc jockey who has been a major figure in popular music for five decades. Much of Dylan's most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when he became an informal chronicler and a reluctant figurehead of American unrest. While expanding and personalizing musical styles, he has shown steadfast devotion to many traditions of American song, from folk and country/blues to gospel, rock and roll and rockabilly, to English, Scottish and Irish folk music, even jazz and swing. Although his accomplishments as performer and recording artist have been central to his career, his songwriting is generally regarded as his greatest contribution. We chose Dylan due to his lengthy career and his devotion and use of folk music/themes in his songwriting. There you go - the two champions of Indie and Reggae. All you now need to do is pick who you want to win (please highlight in some way or another) and go through to the next stage of the Knock out and one step closer to the Grand Final!
