RE setup speculation - my only takeaways are a) the dead vote block is likely of above average trust, and b) I think dead and voting is more powerful for town than mafia. I don't know how to use any of that yet. And thus ends the train of thought; you are indeed welcome.

Only any role they were in possession of at their death is revealed

Yes, but roles can be handed around to anyone.

True. But as I understand things if you are in possession of a role (say cop) and you die before handing the role off. Then the role is removed. I assume you keep the role until night goes to day. So if killed at night, you would still be cop, so cop removed.

More I’m saying role doesn’t guarantee alignment, so dead can’t necessarily be trusted.

I don't know if this was confirmed or not. Maybe the Pirate has a really complicated spreadsheet with times and things.

 

Or a notebook.

The next thing is it a net positive to coroner people and give them a "second" death? That removes them from being able to vote (or speak if that was their choice). My opinion is keeping people in the voting pool is more positive to town than confirming alignments. Maybe coroner on lunches in order to do wagonomics would be valuable. I guess there is a likelihood of multiple people dying each N/D cycle so that will sort itself out. The last thing is should we ever necro anyone before checking if they are town? This would be another argument for coroner use. Yes, I've changed my mind there. Coroner use is a net positive to me due to ensuring only townies get resurrection. 

So my takes on these topics are:

1. Spirits error treestump for most people. 

2. Coroner use is a net positive used mostly for lunches and/or to verify people prior to resurrection. 

3. Only confirmed people should be resurrected. 

After going through this, I am thinking these conclusions are obvious.  I may have missed things. If so, please point them out.

Okay... So since you're talking game mechanics, possibly as a way to peacock that you are Town!Turin acting as Town!Turin talking Game Mechanics like normal Town!Turin would do, and not doing this.

It should be obvious that many of those Power Roles, particularly the ones that get "passed on" to other players... Like say the Coroner, The Cop, The Doc, the Bus Driver, the Bunyip, the Mathematician, and the Traffic Analysist, aren't always going to go to Town...and some of them may well start on Mafia for all we know. (We have 20 power roles, not including the Stump and Spirit, and 14 players!)

 

What I don't know is how this.

Works with Mafia' lying about player alignments and coroner type roles.

 

E.g. If Zander is Mafia gets a cop role, and then claims "Bob is Mafia", and leads a successful lynch on Bob.

Then DPR's slightly drunker twin Brother, DERP, who is also Mafia gets the Coroner Role, claims that Bob was in fact Mafia.

Does Bob get removed from the game for having their "Alignment revealed"? Or does only "true alignment revelations" remove Bob from the game?

 

If Mafia can lie and remove tree/spirts from the game, We're in for a world of... pain.

Well he said that all actions are simultaneously conducted so maybe the dead will still get their results.  I guess we find out soonish.

The only thing about all this speculation is that I'm guessing DPR has thought about this more than any of us, so not entirely sure I would go with one thing has an obvious advantage.

 

That said, I personally don't have a clue what is going on so this is a theoretical standpoint only.
