Rafe posted a picture of a teaser location for season 2.  Him and Taylor Napier are sharing their anniversary there.

This has got to be the Aiel Waste right?

If they are paying any attention to book descriptions of geography, it would pretty much have to be.

It could be somewhere in Seanchan, but nothing we see during books 2 and 3 would involve filming there.  Of course, nothing in those two books involved filming in the Three-Fold Land, either.  But it could be digging into Shaiel's tale, or even just some backstory of the Aiel crossing the Spine.

The good thing about a prequel is that there's far less source material to contradict.

The bad thing is that people (specifically viewers) have to care enough about the story that your prequel led to in order to watch your prequel.  And I don't know if that's happened here.

So I was reading an article on Forbes talking about why its ludicrous that people are disappointed with horizon forbidden west and its "88" for a score and they mentioned something that just shows exactly how I feel about wheel of time.

The screenshot basically sums it up. Screenshot_20220314-062518_Chrome.thumb.jpg.dc9dc5f9338896acca8b2e5439c1dc79.jpg

We're in an Era where nothing really scores lower then a 7 unless it's really downright awful. So when I see wheel of time sitting at a 7.2 average score, that's pretty much bottom of the barrel without being truly awful. Take for that what you will

“Meh” is the target for many showrunners or game creators…It just takes less effort and almost pays as much than going for that “WOW” hit.

An article from Wotseries about the last bit of filiming going on and some actors spotted on/around the set as well as a video from Wotup concerning the same.  Jon speculates possible casting for said actors and I kinda agree with him on the Birgitte, Aviendha and Gawyn thoughts.

‘Yeah, in our world there are no contemporary light sources, it’s all candles and flame. Much of it came down to camera and lens choice. Augmenting our camera lighting effects to blend and compliment the source the imagery was coming from, whether the source was a flame, the moon, or the sun.’

lighting was one of the biggest flaws of the show. They didn’t do what was described above.
thanks for linking that but it wasn’t a great article.
the longer the time goes on since the end of season one, the more disappointing the show is. Anyone I spoke to in person has very Little good to say about the show.

this person in the article worked on lethal weapon tv show, Whiskey Cavalier and smallville.
these shows don’t exactly lend you to be the right fit for an epic fantasy show with filming not on sets a lot of the time.
also from reading the literature about the show. They all hated having to work with horses.

I don’t know why that bolded ?

You can see behind the screen shots where they show them lighting exactly like he describes with actual propane flame lights mounted near the cameras.  Maybe the current technology to do this is not up to your expectations, or maybe your view of the lighting was affected by your perception of the material.

Anyone else feel like this thread went off the rails 12 posts (13 including this one) ago? I look to this thread to find out about news and interviews related to the show.

Surely there are better threads elsewhere for passionately trashing or loving the show.

Agreed. Probably not a lot out there right now as season 1 has been over for 3 months and season 2 might not happen until 2023…

More Cast in Morocco

Per another report from Jon at WoT Up!, he received some revealing set photos and video from the Jerusalem set in Ouarzazate. Jon was unable to show the videos on his channel, but he was able to describe them. Mounted Whitecloaks can be seen charging towards the walls of the city in the first video, and in the second the Whitecloaks are charging through the gate while a Seanchan solider runs out of the way. With this info we can speculate that Abdul Salis (Eamon Valda) and/or Stuart Graham (Geofram Bornhald) were likely part of the filming in Morocco at some point.

In addition to returning Whitecloak actors, we can report Dónal Finn (Mat Cauthon) has been spotted on set in Morocco. Fares Fares, who played the role of “The Dark One” in season one, is also currently in Morocco. They join Josha Stradowski (Rand al’Thor) as confirmed cast members known to be in Morocco, along with speculated cast members spotted in the area: Karima McAdams, Ragga Ragnars, Ayoola Smart, and Jay Duffy.

Interesting if accurate ?

This would all seem to confirm that Falme = Morocco.

Domon was always one of my favorite characters.  I'm glad he hasn't been cut - though I still wish his arc from season 1 had been left in.

This guy doesn't quite match the picture I always had in my head, which was more like John Rys-Davies.  But he's now much too old for the role, so it's not too bad.

Hopefully he will have a beard

Hopefully he will have the correct facial hair as described in the books for Illianer men - full beard and sideburns but bare upper lip.

A short read, one item is that they are expecting more killings as they can't hold on to talent - which is not a big surprise for me.

Then Rafe does a head fake saying that they can't hold on to 2000 actors for 7 seasons.  Nice dodge there, sir.  As if they were going to cast 2000 actors...  I wonder how many of the main actors  (other than Barney) are asking to be killed off/recast?
