The traitor knows who the mafia are, and has a BPV, assuming he/she wasn't recruited. The mafia have no idea who the traitor is.

So the traitor typically sets off some sort of signal to clue the wolves in on who their third is. Doesn't mean I buy into the Eldrick symp theory at all but it's not a crazy thing for a villager to look for.

This was an interesting exchange. Zander pressure-votes Shad, Eldrick jumps on it in no time (not Sock, as Sooh was surprised by the exchange). Then Zander immediately jumps on Sock.It was surprising.

 

I'll say this though, which could be WIFOM, but makes sense in my head - If we think that Sock is scum, then they would both be on 2 QTs. I don't think this mix-up of Eldrick jumping the vote gun on Shad and then Sooh going "wait, what?" happens if they've got two QT boards to check. One, perhaps, but if they're working with mafia as well as each other, that seems like a GIANT stretch for experienced players.

 

Now, with the setup of this game, they could still be mafia traitor and make the above mistake without having a second QT, but given Sooh's play without Eldricks, I'd be leaning townie. Eldrick alone I'd have a slight scum read on primarily for the whole exchange quoted directly above. I think in their own accidental way they've bought themselves a pass from me for now. What even is this? You're making paragraphs of conjecture.

 

 

Isn't that literally the game we're playing? I've seen people base entire lynches and link players together over less than what happened with Eldrick / Sooh on that Shad vote. I'm not saying they ARE town, but it seems to me that anyone experienced who had multiple places to check their work before posting wouldn't have made that mistake, or would at least be far less likely to. So yes, it's conjecture. It's enough for me to give them a pass for now and try to work on a few others. I'm far more concerned about the low-posters Zander mentioned previously.

Let's assume for a sec that we do flip mafia traitor. We won't, but work with me here. See where your logic flawed.

 

We know from sign up that if the traitor isn't recruited (and therefore stays traitor) the Mafia won't know who the traitor is.

 

So, if we did flip traitor, how on earth would that incriminate random?

The green bolded section is the key. I know I explained it more thoroughly sometime later, but I"m running out of time to hunt through all of my posts, so I'll paraphrase:

 

Sock showed some discord in their play that seemed to indicate to me that they likely were indeed acting only on their own (i.e. not answering to another scum buddy or two). Eldrick had jumped on a vote for Shad and a few posts later Sooh was saying she didn't want to lynch Shad, and then they caught up on each other's ITT posts. 

 

Now, I haven't played as part of a hydra, but I know that you have a QT to discuss things, same as when on scum team. This is the place where you discuss strategies and whatnot. I can accept that a mistake like that happens if you are in one QT with one other person, given how frequently both members of Sock post in this thread. What strains credibility in my mind is thinking that this hydra is also in a scum QT and therefor able to make that mistake given two different places they can "check their work" in a sense. Every mafia QT i've read when a game ends or that I've been a part of contains the involved players telling you when it's a good idea to start a train, when to hammer, when to bus, maybe even when to vote. If you have two sets of people you're trying to act in tandem with, I don't see how that mistake happens. 

 

Now, early on I wasn't a fan of a few actions of Eldrick, and I know he's got to be equally considered. But to me, there's more than a reasonable doubt to keep them in game until D2 compared with others in here who haven't contributed anything that makes me want to give them a benefit of the doubt. (namely the absentee players) Full disclosure: Sock could in theory be the mafia traitor, which would negate the impact my line of thinking has on their standing, but I haven't seen enough to damn them D1. 

 

However, I'm also a realist, and I know that if it comes down to it, I might end up having to vote sock to consolidate if the above logic isn't enough to satisfy others in here.

A lot of people do contribute a lot more when D2 begins, but isn't having 2 or even 5 total posts at this point pretty detrimental to town? Especially in a game where it could be only two people on the scum team?

Anyone wanna throw in some ideas on who Random should view? I'd prefer Calder or Shad rather than Zander, tbh.

I'm fine with Zander. Calder and shad are also good choices.

 

Obviously clearing me would be nice. That way you guys can just focus on what I say, not if I'm scum.

I love every part of that question. Both of them are alike to me this game in that they're just consistently said things that I have you thought where Sharp, analytical, Orgain Soffe and I don't know how else to reinforce that point without going back and finding quotes which I'm not big on doing when I don't need to.
