TBH this is why I stopped playing mafia. We can't get a game to fill to save our lives. And when they do (slowly) fill, they're tiny games. Which means less opportunity for more complicated roles. Which are fun.

part of the problem is too many games in signups at once. There's currently 4 and none are getting filled. We just don't have enough players to fill 4 games without people being overwhelmed because they're in 3-4 games lol

I agree with you both but I have a simple soolution. Mine can sit here until the basic is over halfway done. Lets just stagger these games to give a bit of space. Its not gonna hurt my feelings of this takes a couple weeks to fill.
