Post smells to me. Non-commital posts that half heartedly defend someone are by scum more often than not. Scum feel the need to make comments like this.

I thought this was his first game because I don't actually read everyone else's sign-up thread spam when I spam sign-up thread and never made it past the part where he said he was new.  I read it as disgruntled/half-hearted like 'great I have no idea what I'm doing and I have to be scum.'

 

 

but you posted 7 times in the signup thread Shad after the comment was made and it was made PRETTY clear it was a joke that he was new as others joked about it as well.   not sure im buying what you're selling here Shad,

@Zander - I started out scum reading Shad in Belicheat so that's probably not a good example. I was also late to the party in SW and by the time I was caught up he was very heavily in the game.

 

I have my reservations as well but it's too early for me yet to make a solid call.

I guess if scum aren't Forsaken and they had three fake claims to go on it was easy enough to piece together if you're familiar with the lore.  I think the thought process behind immediately recognizing your character becomes a bad guy and casually throwing it out there straight out the gate is more likely to come from town.

FYI, I will be driving to Ottowa on Friday for a family bar mitzvah, and back Monday, so I'm essentially going to be out of commission most of the weekend.

 

Jace was having a wonderful time, he was playing football, real football, Rooney passed the ball to him 9 yards from an open goal, the crowd was going wild, all he had to do was kick the ball into the nets and they would win! Jace caught the ball and prepared to drop kick it to find the referees whistle being blown and the cheers turned to jeers as the ball was given to City for his 'handball'. City managed to run the ball to the other end of the pitch and scored in the final moments of the game.

 

Final score 1-0 to City, when he exited the stadium the mob were waiting...

Am i crazy for being bothered by what appears to be two attempted "nothing to see here" pivots from Shad after i said that first post was fishy? The first one could be argued to be genuine, but two in a row after my comment? Those "i'm really scared posts" have never sat well with me. Scum not wanting to engage imo. But, i want your opinion.

Funny. I prefer early peeks since that way everyone knows they're fake rather than reads if you flip vanilla, and they're less easy for scum to ignore as consensus reads rather than peeks. I'm curious why you think waiting until a "peek" is more easily dismissable as a read (and therefore less cover) is useful

The point of leaving peeks in thread are for 1) to allow the Seer to reveal their results and 2) so VTs can provide "cover" for the real Seer by making the wolves think it is actually them.

 

You don't have Seer equity as a villa if you aren't leaving good peeks. While the chances of randomly picking a wolf as your fake peek on D1 are slim, I would still rather make an educated guess later in that position. This doesn't have to be an obvious consensus read because then, yes, it's obviously fake.

 

In short - do you, dude. I am for the concept of leaving peeks on thread both for cover and to know in the event the Seer dies, but I'm not interested in discussing the strategy of it. What I say doesn't make people agree or follow it, it's just my preference. You don't need to worry about my peeks until I'm dead unless you're a wolf imo.

 

First: [unvote]. Joke vote on Calder now has him almost halfway to a lynch, and while I might go there eventually, now is not that time.

 

Second, I think the odds are low enough that if I were faking (which I'm not) I'd be unlikely to hit scum. I know that as scum, I tend to discard "peeks" offered on obvtown as either cover or irrelevant (since I can just kill the obvtown and eliminate the problem). But you do you, I'll do me, and we'll do we.

The fact he's being helpful means ~nothing towards his alignment.  AJ is a very good player so I don't think he's incapable of making that post as mafia at all.  I think Mafia!AJ would probably WANT a bunch of early fakepeeks, since they (theoretically) would have a lower likeliness of being accurate and that helps narrow the NK poe, but I don't think he's going to come in and recommend it - especially when a handful of us recently played with him in the same setup when he waited to post a peek for accuracy reasons.  He was town, and I'm positive he's smart enough to know the sudden change of heart would stand out.

 

That being said, I don't see how it would ever warrant a FoS.  I'm giving him 0 towncred for trying to be helpful, but I don't see a reasonable argument why anybody would suspect him for being mafia for it.

On the note of me being preachy and helpful, I talked early game strat in Belicheat where Laine was a wolf so she definitely knows at the least I would do it as town.
