Also, Verb seemed mighty twitchy about me in the scum QT. That is nice.

You read me very well, and I wasn't able to coordinate during the day with my team....I wanted to NK you to silence you, but didn't bother suggesting it because obv the Seer came first.

So my thoughts on the deadline lynch and the no night chat lynch are that they are intertwined.

I get that people aren't used to no hammer games. I'm one of them. BUT, in a game where you know what the deadlines are, if there is no night chat? Everything after reaching majority can be treated as night chat - for the most part.

I think it's possible I could have picked a deadline time that was more convenient for EVERYONE, but I was too lazy to do the research on everyone's timezones.

I like the no night chat rule in a vanilla game, tbh. I also like the no day chat for scum rule. It really had this team off balance for a bit. And, frankly, I think the 24x7 chat on all fronts by default thing that we do on DM has been hurting the Town more than people realize.

I would reconsider the hammer rule in future iterations - or possibly make it something like a 2/3 rule or super majority to bypass deadlines by default - but I think the no chat rules were good.

Meh, it's something we did a long time ago (deadline games and locking the thread at night). I'm happy with the way DM has progressed to not locking threads and more of a hammer game.

We'll see how many aspie volunteers we get since it's a part of the official Blue event

Signups will probably start mid-July since the event is July 26 - August 1st.

Why wasn't I suspected as seer?  I had the same seer cover Lee had. ie dice and cory.

I didn't mind so much the no night talk on thread. It gives you a bit of time off so that didn't bother me so much. The no scum day talk.... I can't say if it would bother me or not as scum since I wasn't scum this game. Typically I like to talk in scum QTs a lot so I imagine I'd find it annoying but I don't know how much it would really disrupt my game as I don't feel the need to consult EVERY move I make.

What really bothered me though was yeah... the day not ending when we reach majority.

So like... I get the whole Seer cover mambo jumbo and all that but I have to say I REALLY hated doing seer cover this game. It's the first time I try it and I'm not sure if I'll keep doing it or not. I think you should do it if you know what you're doing. If you don't, maybe it's best just to stay away from it. I don't like locking down a townie as seer cover on D1 cause my reads fluctuate. Hell, I started off with Sooh and Lee as my top scum reads on most of D1 and we all saw how that turned out. Yes, I was lucky with picking Cory as my seer cover because I kinda thought he was town on D1. But I was far from being sure and it only became a lot more apparent (at least to me) on D2.

I get that you could do what AJ did and just drop the cover but then you inadvertently exclude yourself from the seer pool and I think that's a shame too.

So I lunno.... we'll see.

Kaylee, I'm really glad I mislynched you once when you were sheeping a ton. That's the only reason I didn't tinfoil on you at all this game. For the simple fact that I knew you were capable of being this agreeable as town.

Yeah i struggle a lot with my reads as town. I tend to trust the reads of stronger players and doubt my own. I allow myself to be swayed. That's why I tend to follow

There is nothing wrong with playing that way, imo. As a villager you are gonna have spots where you are not confident in your scumreads and it's perfectly good play to sheep a strong townread who is making more confident reads than you.

It's better than doing nothing. Kay didn't have super strong suspicions but she did a lot of work and thought like a villager and that's 80% of the battle.

To sum up.

Sooh: My biggest regret is misreading you. At the same time I think you can most definitely fine tune your reactions so they're more proportionate.... so (hopefully) I won't make that mistake again. Plus it didn't help that it's our first game together so I didn't really know how to approach you in general. I think I learned a bit from this game in that regard. Hopefully I'll pick up more in future games. =)

Songstress: I didn't really need Darthe's flip and him being your seer cover to think you were town (though it didn't hurt!). I mean, yeah, you were scarce at first due to RL but when you started to get into the game you made some really good posts/reads and I didn't tinfoil on you at all, I think. The way you approached Cory was also very telling to me. You sort of manhandled him when he started to get a bit emo lol  And I don't know, I just associate that with your town game. You weren't nervous about meeting him head on and telling him what's what.

Cass I underestimated you and that's my bad. Won't happen again. I'm just glad I eventually came around about you. Both because of Cory's read and because one of Clov/AJ had to be town and they were both pretty bent on lynching you. Add that to AJ promising to lynch Clov if you flipped town and I pretty much conceding with lynching you first. Another thing that added to my change of hearts is what I pointed out... ie your focus on AJ when it was between you and Clov. Felt like you knew Clov was gonna flip town and you were doing prep work for the next day where it would inevitably be between you and AJ. And that all really boils down to having a really strong town core, like Cory said. That was our saving grace in this game. Because had I started tinfoiling on Tress or Kaylee, or they'd start tinfoiling on me.... you would actually have had a shot.

Andrej: We're usually bad at reading each other. You seemed to read me really well this game, though. I unfortunately did not return the favor. I just never really see myself trusting you till later in the game, if even that. And while I constantly had you in my POE, I feel like EVENTUALLY I did manage to feel better about you, compared to Cass/Clov. So there's that. ie I don't think I would have lynched you before lynching Clov and Cass first. The freak out in the end that involved Yates' trolling was only because I thought Cass was cleared and she was sitting on you and not around.... so I felt like I had no choice but to consolidate. But I mostly thought Clov was a better lynch option.

Kaylee: Pretty much addressed you in my earlier post. You did a good job at reflecting your alignment and that's important to me because I like building a town core. That's the way I think mafia should be played and I get frustrated when there are a lot of scummy townies in the picture. So I think you did an amazing job at that. You did tend to be more of a follower but that is not as important to me, personally. You did your part by clearing yourself as town.

dicetosser: I think it was pretty hard for you to bounce back into the game after being away for a while. The only reason I chose you as seer cover was because of how aggressive you got when someone said you were slacking off. I just didn't think you'd ever say something like that to cover your ass as scum. I was relieved, however, when you got peeked because it was nice to get verification of that. I think we were lucky that the random N0 peek landed there, otherwise I'm pretty sure scum would have been able to push a lynch on you, because you didn't seem to be able to really get into the game, if you catch my drift.

Leelou: I started off feeling a bit weird about you but I came around pretty quickly imo. You played well. Good reads. Smart peeking on Cory. I'm not sure if I would have done it myself, cause Cory tends to die so early that I prolly wouldn't want to risk peeking someone that might be NKed. But it turned out really well and Cory being peeked as town was important for the game's progression. So Kudos!

Darthe: Why can't you play all your town games like this? Had you as town since early on and it was pretty great. Also you didn't make me want to hang myself, so that's always a plus.

Verb: I pulverized you :D   hahahahaha

Cory: Great game as always. You're the main reason I went with Wombat on D2. The way you and Wombat head butted made me think it's a w/v situation and what I think ultimately got Wombat lynched was the mini thunderdome that was going on there. You were also smoking out Cass and were part of the reason I threw her back into the POE. I'm glad I went with my gut feeling and didn't tinfoil on you. Cause it's always a tempting path to take.  It's fun being town with you. And as always, you've read me to perfection. Also my derp about the no day talk in the scum QT was spot on. At first I had no idea what you meant... xD  but yeah I'm not the type to make derps to make me look town. I'm just the kind that derps as town xD  See reaction to mod trolling :P

Wombat: You were in my POE of AJ, Clov, Verbal and you. But at some point I actually thought you looked best out of the four. What made me do a 180 was basically the way you took on Cory. I don't remember what exactly prompted the thunderdoming but that was a huge mistake imo. I think had you pushed AJ or Clov you prolly would have gotten more sway from me. Points for ballsy though lol

Clovdyx: Not much to say really. I thought you were being weird the entire game, starting with not feeling town vibes from me on freaking page 5 of the game before the game even started. I like to screw around for a bit before it gets serious. Also your push at Halli and nitpicking stuff I said + the way you went at Kaylee just seemed odd. And the 'tude that you were giving me wasn't particularly helpful. I felt like we were talking a ton about how we'd wreck town together but you seemed kinda standoffish with me since the start and it made you constantly suspicious to me. So I think had AJ not been so set on lynching Cass first, I'm pretty sure I would have stayed on you. Plus your content yesterday was improving somewhat so I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt. But yeah, I totally thought you were more likely to be the last scum if it was between you and Cass. OH WELL!! :P At least I don't have to hear you whine about me mislynching you for a third time LOL

Yates: You suck. Also do more VCs in your next game cause.... DAMN.

Most of the reason we won this game comfortably considering the scumteam had 3 strong players on it was that every villager fought and read the thread and tried to get their thoughts across. Thread was really, really villagery. It's incredibly hard to be a wolf in that environment because you are given nothing for free.
