I present, the Hair Chronology of CorryCurn (AKA This is how I spent my Saturday Night):

3 years old: the party years

Young Cory knew there were only three important things in life: partying, partying and partying. Donning the simplistic mullet, Young Cory smiled and ran around, businesslike in his casual demeanor, but always on the precipice of partytime.

5 years old: the beginning of the mushroom era

At some point Young Cory realized there was more to life that being rockin' white trash. Donning the mushroom, he learned the importance of dignity and the moments in life you needed to be dignified.

7 years old: the comb years

Not long after discovering his love for phones, Young Cory realized the rigidity of the mushroom and instead went with a more flee-flowing, pre-Bieber sidecomb. These would be some of the happiest moments of Cory's life - thanks mostly to his unbridled passion for phones - and something he would discover he needed to come back to after the hard years that followed.

9 years old: things go wrong

Cory prefers not talk about these years of his life; the casual, healthy freeflowing hairstyles of the past abandoned to commit to his phase of "tree-loving", circle glasses and the gel-up. These were not merry times. Cory has already began drinking after seeing this picture.

11 years: blonde crisis!

Some would say Cory made a full recovery from the absolute disaster that was nine years old, but it remains a point of contention. Sticking to the gel-up, Cory attempted to reinvent his image while maintaining the fashion statement of hair that is slightly directed upward at the front maintains, ditching his circle glasses and going blonde for two whole years.

age 13: cory begins to just wear a frickin' hat

Deciding managing his hair was no longer something fun to do, Cory just started wearing a goddamn hat. It was also around this time that Cory discovered his fondness for men who stood slightly behind him.

Age 15: the beginning of the "emo" years

As per the case with most teenagers, Teenage Cory had a lot of issues with his identity, No longer a fan of smiles, Cory allowed his long hair out from years of hat oppression. He was angsty and wrote angsty songs and wore band shirts. This would be a rough transition to the beginning of a long, weird era known as adolescence (which many argue he still be going through).

This era would continue to go through to age 17, to which at this point the angst of CorryCurn grew into a legend that his family began to transform slowly into his image:

my brother did, in fact, dress up as me for Halloween to amuse the locals. It is well known I have the greatest brother of all time.

however, this era would eventually wind up in disaster, as ages 18 and 19 were very rough on Cory as some messed up personal ish went down, which leads us to

age 19: the mental breakdown years

09.jpg

fun fact: i had a weeeeeeee "nervous breakdown" when i was 18 and shaved my head. it was a long road to recovery for my hair.

age 21: life gets better

10.jpg

slowly but surely, now Adult Cory's hair regrew as he took control of his life and laughed at children. Quite a lot. Probably your children; he's laughing at them right now.

age 23: the return of the comb years

11.jpg

With his tragic adolescent hairstyle years behind him, Adult Cory returned back to his 7-year old hairstyle, now in a post-Bieber era, but he didn't care. He was a happy adult with fun things to do, and he was going to do them, damnit, and he wasn't going to hide behind shaved heads or hats anymore.

Not much has changed for Cory; he sometimes combs his hair up nowadays in tribute to the gel-up years, but mostly because he likes his job.

That moment when homosocial becomes homoerotic.

You chose a great time to be five, Cory.  I'm assuming you spent most of that year telling people their princess was in another castle.
