4 posts - zero content. The 3 on the last past look more like placeholder posts. She says that she's caught up but after 40 something pages of posts she has literally nothing to add or a single read on anyone.

I'm not finding Len overly scummy right now. Wombat and Krak are sticking out a bit more to me on my initial read. Krak for his weird reasoning on Lenlo and Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwombat seems to be trying to figure out if the pasta is done yet by flinging it against the wall to see if it will stick.

I actually agree with Leelou about Krak, not so much about Wombat.

I just went back and looked at Krak's posts.

He joke votes Lenlo, picks a minor point in wording to FoS him, fluff posts a bit, and then he defends his decision of why he voted Lenlo, along with nudging Alanna a bit.

Not liking the tone in the last post and sounds a bit of fencesitting

[v]krak[/v]

Not sure I like this post/vote.

Reads to me as sort of ingenuine and overdone. Plus a way for him to safely add momentum to a wagon of someone inactive.

Why so many inactives?

Your pic is intimidating.

As you see I've got biceps to spare

Don't expect me to swoon, I don't like overly muscular men.

I've been focusing hard on another game so this one has slipped a bit out of my head. Rereading needs to be done. Can't even remember half the players.

AJ in response to Nervositee...

Earlier you said that it benefits neither alignment and was therefore pointless, previous to that you also said it was beneficial to scum point wise for good fake claims. Now you are agreeing again that it benefits mafia. Which is it?

I think Len has a valid point here. Locking people into their claims is a good thing and it adds to the collective pool of information. Yes there are hundreds of characters to be claimed and likely not one singular claim will lead directly to someone getting lynched but as the game unfolds we can look back on said claims and find connections/inconsistencies to give us a direction to move in.

I like that question. I hadn't noticed that before.

As for thoughts on Vos: Read through all his posts on ISO and his case on Darthe was weak. Since he's unvoted and is talking about doing more ISO's I'd like to hear what he come up with. Leaning Null atm.

Damn you, Ewok, I was going to have that vote count! :P

I don't get why you would link Len to some of the inactives here, it just seems like an arbitrary reason to connect people to me.

Apparently I didn't state this well; you're the second person to misunderstand my intent here, AJ. I don't actually think they're on a scum team together; it was meant to be a bit of a joke. If I were on a scum team with Lenlo, I would have advised him to let go of all the character claim talk, so I was wondering, if he is scum, why someone on his team wouldn't have done that. The possible explanation would be that his teammates were all people who hadn't been around the past couple days.

That is not a good reasoning at all. A lot of time, from my experience as scum, people generally let everyone in their flow. I have rarely seen advice against actions by a teammate, unless the person is really new. Lenlo stopping the talk all of a sudden is also not going to look legitimate at all. Assuming that his teammates are inactive because he has not changed his talk is really a poor reasoning.

LOL. You're still taking this too seriously. I wasn't SERIOUS about them being his teammates, I was not trying to guess who his teammates are at all. It was a joke.

Part 1 on Len my responses/notes will be in ().

Len: starts off against the mass claim idea here. Again here says it'll be useless but he's interested to see who people pick. Here is where he joins the character conversation noting that all claimed characters to that point have been side characters and claims himself. (Nothing really stood out to me yet here)

This is him saying if one person was going to get a main character then we all should have, after all there's plenty of them. Here he starts asking Mish about her character. (I won't include them all, but I'm going somewhere with this...) He says " If its a main character like Wombys, a bad main character, than I want to know". (You can click the link to see that I haven't messed with the wording here). He then gives points, here, as to why he's suspicious of Mish's hinting. In that same post he says he doesn't think Gaston is a main character, though he guesses it could be considered as such. (It's not much, very weak honestly, but it is different than he said to Mish in the quotes above. He said "If it's a main character like Wombys...".)

In this post he says "So myself im going to treat a character as a character regardless of if its a main or a secondary or a tertiary claim. Until we see a theme alginments I will treat character claims as null. So basically I want to focus on gameplay instead of characters. Agree?" (I added this to show how he tells Womby the bold: that character claims will be treated as null to him and he just wanted to focus on gameplay instead of characters. Up to this point he's been focusing on characters and speculating which type, main or secondary, will be in the game. Now he doesn't want to focus on them anymore.)

And now he fos'es me simply over my character claim. That's a quite priceless contradiction that I'd forgotten about.

Someone alert Vos, we have a deadline!

I'm alert!

Slightly put off by many inactives, and some actives who are posting but not standing out.

Oh, and someone stop Verb from claiming all the VCs, he'll be a one-man power-army soon, which can be good or bad :P

Darthe is reading more and more like town, while I think Len is reading more and more like scum.

Having a hard time reading Wombat, at this point he is still overplaying his case on me pretty nastily, yet not voting me. And he seems to work hard influencing others to join him (plus voting). Yet I'm struggling to see Wombat claim scum, then drive home a mislynch this hardcore on D1 if he is mafia. I'm starting to think we might have opposing tones rather than alignment. Still suspicious but not too convinced at this point.

[unvote]

For now.

Of course you're backing off.  The read on Wombat was three sentences of "Womby, work with me" just like your unvote.  This whole post is safing.

I don't see it.  You're painting his posts with a particular view.

The only thing that really bugged me about Vos was how he kept getting back in with the character discussion while not wanting to discuss it. Wouldn't peg him as scum for that though, just something to watch.

I don't like how so much focus was put on claims. It was just a big distraction. I want to take a look at the bigger players in it. Also, Lia, bad catch up posts. I totally agree with Darthe *feels dirty*. You could have at least posted some thoughts on players. You've moved to my null with a scum vibe list.

What about his "case" on me or the above post?

Womby - I'm liking his posting and thought processes right now, town lean.

Len - Gut says town.  His posting this game has been pretty up there, and making sense, and y'know, not entirely fluff!

Amega - I don't recall seeing much of him recently.

Mish - Null.  Posting more than normal, but that could go either way.  Claim of Stitch, so she's cutest town if town.

Vos - Null to scum, after those shenanigans

Darthe - Don't like the thread of a CFD >.<  But you've been posting lots, and your early claim didn't seem forced, though as many people say, with so many characters that in itself isn't that big a thing.

I was playing WoW.  Dont' hateeeee

Your reads suck.  Try again.

I like that question. I hadn't noticed that before.

Yep, it's a good point, and what I've been bad at explaining. I still don't think anyone has anything to really gain from alot of talk about characters, but if any then scum comes out on top because they will get points for good/inventive fake claims. Which means I'm null at AJ for getting the ball rolling, but slightly more suspicious of the people jumping on it quickly (without it being a scum-tell in itself).

To whoever it was pointing out I pointed out I didn't like that the talk revolved around characters, yet coming back to it. Yes, that's right. I voiced my opinion, which I still stand by that it's mainly a distraction since claims can't directly be used for scumhunting. But since people obviously disagreed and kept bringing it up I'm not going to ignore it. That I don't think it's the best course of action doesn't mean I don't want to comment on it.

For example Len was the first to come out saying he didn't like AJs point on claiming. Then doing a 180 and contributing to D1 being consistently about characters, which is why he is my main suspect at this point (ISOing him now). Especially where he says claims are null, yet going on and on about it, especially towards Mishs' coyness about her character. I'll be back with my thoughts on him in a sec.

If only my mobile browser would stop shutting down every time I open the page maybe I could post something.

This game started before I expected, before Mother's day. I simply haven't had the time to put together a good post yet. The others were merely to say I am around and catching up on reading (41 pages at one time). I sacrificed most of my sleep last night to do that. I'll try to make a better post on my lunch.

Len part 2:

Here he tells Pral he should catch and and reiterates that him and Womby agree that character claims are null and get to gameplay. Now he's back to talking about claims. He says " if we lock people into a claim then they cant BS anything later on. Force them into it now while people are still establishing their town/scumminess." (So back to character talk and how it's important. What happened to making it about gameplay and characters being null?) More secondary character talk

This quote is partly in response to Womby questioning his back and forth on character talk and partly to Mish about her claim. (I'm going to respond to several things so I'll put each point on a bullet to make it easier to follow. The part of Len's post I'm talking about will be in quotation marks).

  • "1) Yes I believe and have always believed this will be a game of supporting characters." (Only supporting characters? Mish claimed a main one. She may not be the only one with a main character. Again what happened to looking at gameplay and focusing on that?)
  • "3) I didn't push Mish for hinting a main Character" (I just find this funny with his first point in the same quote. May be true, but it's still odd.)
  • "I never said if you were a "bad guy" that I wanted to know, I said I wanted to know because your hinting is stupid." (Not true. In my part 1 I pointed out his exact wording where he did in fact say...oh I'll copy it here: "If its a main character like Wombys, a bad main character, than I want to know." Yeah you did Len, I just quoted and bolded it for you.)

Summary: Len goes back and forth on his views about character claiming. (from the time he says he's interested to telling Womby he's not to back to being interested and pushing it.) Alanna: that's why I singled him out on it against the others pushing it. He also contradicts himself above. (Tells Mish he wants to know if she's a main character, esp a bad one. Then when she brings it up he says he didn't say that.) I know Womby asked him about his back and forth and he said he only said he wanted to focus on gameplay and that character claims are null because otherwise Wombat wouldn't leave him alone, or something like that, but then why also say it to Pral? Inconsistent maybe is a better word than back and forth. I'm comfortable leaving my vote here.

7 pages in and note-taking and Kaylee beats me to it. With links and all neatly formated. Almost made me grumpy  Now I'm just gonna look like an ass saying "uuuh, what she said".

Because said statement was never meant to be taken seriously in the first place? I'm just trying to clear up - several people now have read that statement as me trying to link together a scum team, and that wasn't my intention. I don't know how else to explain it. Never mind. This is why I don't joke.
