Town leading is a scum trait and that's good enough for me on D1.

How is it a scum trait?

How is leading town instead of letting them find their own way a scum trait?

Did you seriously just ask me that?

Purposely obtuse wombat is scum wombat.

You know what happens when you let the town find their own way on DM?  They get lost.

Fair point. However I've never seen you take the lead so aggressively before.

What's different?

It didnt imply that though. You made it imply that and then left it there for others to see so they would think the same.

Everything is different every game.  This time I guess it's mainly being fed up with DM meta and spending too much time on my computer.

But please do enlighten me.  How would Nolder's flip clear things up about me?

Posted

Lewis flipflopping around about should i remove my vote or not but then not doing it feels off to me. Lewis vote or do not vote. flipflopping and jumping trains is a good way to get me voting you.

I'm confused.  How have I been flipflopping?  Where I come from, a true flip-flopper switches back and forth between two or more votes.  I've voted twice.

Maybe you don't like my decision to back off Wwwombat.  Or maybe you don't like that I have now directed my attention at Nolder and JackD?   Why does this suddenly bother you?  Right now, you seem to be the only one bothered by my unvoting Wwwwwombat.

lewis it was that post of yours saying maybe i should take my vote off wombat. yet you didnt. and that was just after you were saying about how if his was a joke vote why didnt he take it off.

flip flopping is how it read to me. doesnt have to be voting multiple trains. can be changing ure mind back and forth for eg

Less than 24 hours to go, we need to start consolidating.

Ice is nowhere to be found.

I hate to pull the inactivity card so early but I'd rather cut potentially dead weight (no offense) than find out what the consequences of no majority are.

Wombat I'll give you until Day 2 to get your act together.

Saying your sick of DM meta is fine and I can't fault you for changing up your game style but the contradiction you pulled when jumping from AJ to me was pretty bad and now you're on Lenlo (although in fairness Lenlo deserved it).

I haven't even been reading AJ's posts and they sound/look like they're flailing/desperate.

Man, thanks.

Here I was thinking I'm going to have to reset my view of this game and start from scratch when I got home, but you saved me the hassle.

This is just a terrible nudge in my direction. This is the type of snipe posts I expect scum to make, especially with the intentional usage of buzzwords like 'flailing'. The irony is only made sweeter with how you say you aren't even reading my posts, which of course is helpful. If you truly feel this way then perhaps you can bring up your dislike for me to address instead of sitting on the sidelines and lobbing crap like this up. It feels even worse when I couple it with your weaksauce vote on Vos earlier where you just quoted his post and then added your vote without any commentary.

Lol you're making a fluff case because my comment made me easy game for you, switching your attention to a target that could probably make for a decent train opportunity.  Either you're flustered town or you're scum thanking me for redirecting heat.

Your reaction steers me towards the latter.

Your ISO of me is like a cherry on top, overboard for town making this argument.   You're padding your case because you need whatever you can pin on me.  You could have easily have said that I have three posts of game-related content - the "getting his post count up" is quite droll as I'm hardly ever a top poster and have never really cared about it.  It reads like a moderate level case imo.

"Not getting a #gamesolve feel from this guy"    that's basically your entire case but instead of just laying it out you're grabbing at feathers to stuff your [pillow]case.

Bold strips away your bluster and lays bare your sigh of relief.  It is your undoing.

It's funny that you would call my case on you fluffy, when that is exactly what it is.

Fluff.

From you.

I'm not saying that you having a low or high post count means anything. My point is that when you have posted you have mostly joked instead of really stating your thoughts as the thread progressed, but you also took a few opportunities to nudge and poke when other players were called out. This makes me feel like you don't want to get involved but are perfectly fine helping to steer things along. The first time was after Womby called out Vos. You never did explain why you were voting him, and the timing was convenient. You then post a few more jokes before nudging me. Using words like flailing would imply that you think I am scum, especially if you aren't even reading my posts as you sarcastically say. So, why not vote me then?

Btw, me thanking you was sarcasm as well. I'm sure you caught that though.

You say that me bringing attention to your posts is overboard. Why is that?

Ice will be getting replaced by his mentor soon. I know this for what should be obvious reasons to anyone playing.

I think your vote would be best moved elsewhere.

I also dislike how you are talking of consolidation but vote for an outlier instead of one of the more prominent wagons.

OFFICIAL VOTE COUNT:

Womby (1/8): Nolder

Lenlo (3/8): Dawn, TG, Wombat

AJ (2/8): Despo, Krak

Ice (1/8): Thane

TG: (1/8) Lenlo

Jack (2/8) Nervo, Lewis

Lewis (1/8) Jack

Krak (1/8): AJ

Not voting (3/15): Tress, Ice, Dice

with 15 alive it takes 8 to lynch.

On a different note, Nolder wasn't lying when he said there is less than 24 hours to DL. We're sitting at about 22 at this point.

People that are behind need to read up and place a vote or move their votes to a legitimate wagon.

I very much like my vote on Krak and would enjoy if others joined me.

Between the other two leading trains (besides mine) I would pick Jack over Lenlo. Not so much because I find Jack scummy per say but because I have a stronger town read on Leno. I thought his posts earlier were good, despite the apparent fuss over them.

first, i'd like to apologize for not being around here a lot. Some RL stuff has me occupied more than i'd like.

Now, for the game. I've been following through notifications and have been rereading this morning. The most scum feel i get are Krak and Nolder. Don't see a lot of information in Krak's posts and votes, which makes me suspicious of him. Nolder was doing alright, but when he voted Ice just to get rid of an inactive member... he could just as easily have voted on me too. Going for an easy lynch by saying he wants to lose dead weight.... really don't like it.

Would like to see more from ice, dawn, tress and dice. Not being around that much, so null read on them.

Still need to make up my mind on everybody else... i'll try to work on that.

Did I miss something?

I don't remember seeing either of our mods say this.

I think your vote would be best moved elsewhere.

I think the fact that you want me to move my vote, as opposed to just calling it a bad vote, is worrisome.

Trying to defend a teammate until his mentor can sub in?

I also dislike how you are talking of consolidation but vote for an outlier instead of one of the more prominent wagons.

I moved from being the only one voting Wombat to one of two people voting Ice.

It was a step up and I made the case to lynch him. I can't control anyone else's vote and consolidation can only happen if people work together.

Someone has to go first.

Why not Krak, Lenlo, or me?

Krak has been quiet not scummy.

Lenlo was dumb in his attack on me but I'm reading it as dumb town for now.

I didn't like your reactions to the votes you were getting but up until now it seemed more like town flailing.

I am beginning to think that may have been a mistake on my part though.

Nolder was doing alright, but when he voted Ice just to get rid of an inactive member... he could just as easily have voted on me too. Going for an easy lynch by saying he wants to lose dead weight.... really don't like it.

I could have, but Ice was lowest.

Had I voted you for activity the question on everyone's mind would have been "why not Ice?".

If you're voting for activity you always start at the bottom.

Also you can call it an easy lynch if you want, I call it a smart move.

Leaving an inactive or a lurker alive hurts town more and more the longer the game goes on.

If we're going to do it it's best to do it early while we have mislynches to spare.

We wont have the leeway to do it later.

What what?!

After all of this, Nolder want us to go lynch an inactive?  This reeks of desperation and yet no one was voting him at the time, so I don't get why the sudden shift.

Maybe someone can explain this to me, but I don't get the logic behind lynching an "inactive" player.  Time and time again, players (typically mafia) have argued that we should lynch the least active player because they aren't providing us with valuable information.  I think that lynching an inactive only helps the mafia and, as Nolder seems to be doing right now, is typically the last ditch attempt of a fumbling player to distract from a lynch that would give us a ton of info.

Please enlighten me on this.  The way I see it, there are two possibilities.

1) Inactive Player is mafia.  Great!  This means that is one less player being sneaky and paying attention to the posts.  Its so much easier to trap someone who hasn't been paying attention than one actively engaged in debate.  This is also one less player to try and distract us in another direction.  One less rabbit hole for us all go go down.  Finally, if the last mafia player standing is an inactive, he/she might even miss the deadline for the night kill.  If we lynch the inactive mafia player, we get little to no info on who they were conspiring with and even his/her own team is likely to end up leading a lynch on them to make themselves look like angels, like some kind of gambit or something.  Benefit = keeping inactive mafia dude alive.

2) Inactive Player is town.  Sure, that's one less hound in the chase, but consider this.  Inactive Townie is one less distraction from the game.  They won't provide us with any useful information and won't give us anything to debate.  No point in trying to persuade them to vote with you.  Might as well convince a rock, or a .... ahem...brick.

200_s.gif

We can still reach a majority with an inactive.  They are the best target for mafia to night kill for the very reason that their lynch is a poor choice....because they will give us the least amount of information.  Finally, its only a matter of time before the Mod(s) have had enough and either replace said inactive or MODKILL the knucklehead.

Benefit = Don't lynch inactive townie.

Add in the mechanics of this particular game, if you have bothered to read the OP, and you can see why an inactive player, on Day 1, with everything else going on....

.....makes about as much sense as this guy:
