Im not seeing why there is a build up on vos. He voted for the same reason as me and des did i believe. Which makes me wonder why Lily is going for vos? Jack's responses haven't been paticularyly convincing either. So putting pressure on him is beneficial.

That doesn't make him scum but it is a scummy thing to do.

You need to always give some sort of reason with a vote if you're a townie so other townies can follow along and either challenge you and your reasoning or perhaps posthumously pick it up and continue pushing where you left off.

 

Saying "Vote X" doesn't do anyone any good but yourself.

So we have two players that refuses to read the other players posts if they are too long. Great 

 

I also haven't seen any unreasonable long WOTs. I (for some reason) get why Jack is saying it, and he at least explains it. Then Lily comes and says "oh, yeah, is that ok? then me too, me too". Doesn't sit well at all. Bad excuse for skimming and getting an easy out of any incoherencies. Town wouldn't be too worried about that. Scum would.

Now, this steps outside the game but I'd like to talk about it anyway.

I'm not someone who minds WOTs 90% of the time but I really understand where the people who do are coming from.

First of all the size of WOTs usually stem from the quoted material which I try to cut out as much as possible to make things easier to read. But then once in awhile you have people saying they're being taken out of context. Which is fine. I'd rather cut things down and take someone out of context once in awhile than just quote EVERYTHING. But anyway back to the point. We're all playing this for fun and sometimes mafia can become a chore but even then it can stay enjoyable. But when it starts giving you headaches and whatnot you start to rethink playing. I've been there and it sucks. You want to play a game not read an essay. I don't think it's an unreasonable position to take. I also think that we have to acknowledge that people here are not all masterful writers and that it's possible to get long winded (I'm sure I've done it myself just now). Some people just want you to get to the point and be concise about it. I'm not saying people should stop doing WOTs but I do think you should try to look at it from the otherside before throwing a vote out. I mean really? Have you SEEN any evidence that Lily isn't following along yet despite what she said? When that happens then maybe I could support a vote on her for it but for now this just looks like a petty personal vote.

I saw that. If the blocks of tests gives you (the litteral kind of) headaches and makes you uncomfortable thats a very different thing, and I apologize for Fos'ing you about it. It read to me like you were throwing yourself on Jack's lead, as I explained in my vote. Has since been moved.

It's ok to interpret people different ways, but the length Jack was reaching to twist the event skewed what happened to the point where I can't understand why he would do that as town. You may think it's all self evident but it's not.

Scum do stuff like this and get away with it because there are townies that are doing the same thing.

Stop letting scum vote people willy nilly. if you're town you're only hurting yourself and your team by not giving any reasons with your vote.

I'm not asking for an essay I just want to understand where you're coming from. It's not a lot to ask of a townie.

You are claiming you don't want an essay. But you don't want short sentences either. I get that you want what you want, but do you scum-read based on it? Some people posts WoTs. Some people don't read them. My first vote on Jack was because I found his quoted "case" extremely weak, and said so when I voted. when unclear I explained. Then he twisted the events, which I found scummy, and said so, so I changed my vote back to him. Then my vote didn't fit with your preference for exactly how long you want a vote, so you FoS me? 

 

I've seen some of the most helpful townies vote with a sentence, and I've seen scum make painfully long WoTs. 

 

Unless I'm just the scapegoat of a broader pet peeve of yours, in which case you can start a debate in the main forums if town should by default always write at least six sentences when casting a vote. 

 

For both of my votes I've given an understanding where I'm coming from. If unclear to you, you are welcome to ask and I will respond in greater depth why said vote was cast. If you think that is scummy by default then fine, we'll agree to disagree on that.

You know what I find funny. I take flak for posting an obvious joke pressure with my long hmmmmmmm towards Kronos, who I didn't vote for and just pushed ever so slightly to see if anyone anywhere would vote. (You all should if noticed that since context and intentions are so apparent, according to amega I think but not sure)

 

 

 

Then out of nowhere I get voted for no reason, and then people come back later with parroted reasoning of someone in front. All the while there's a bunch on beatings of cheats and proclamations that they got me. When most likely I could find and lose them lol.

 

 

 

I get accused of misrepresenting posts when u just posted them as I interpreted them and from the context in which they were posting. If you don't like how your posts look from a different perspective post like Dap has this game. Utterly non confrontational and non committal with just enough substance to be safe from being called playing under the radar.

 

Then we have a whole WoT debate. I don't mind long winded texts. I hate multi quote texts. That's what bothers me. And I skim them. If you write a really long thought provoking original post I'll read every character.

 

 

I've also tried to draw people into a discussion and get multiple perspectives on points versus saying I'm definitely correct and saying I am the mafia god and know all scum and scum behavior.

 

 

I've also trying to get committed opinions so those people can be held accountable for their actions.

What a great example of how a good mafia team can work together. The one getting the heat can publicly support the heat giver, often softening the heat cos people think people who agree with them are more likely town, while the teammate does the important defending to keep the town away till the main heat giver drops it.

Since none of you seem to get why I voted Vos. He is scummy (not my top pick though) but he had a competing train oppurtunity.

I will always pick a slightly less scummy person with competing train qualities over starting a brand new train in a game early on. The potential info is worth more

You can't prove a negative. That's dumb. The burden is on you to prove other people are scum, not on other people to prove they aren't.

Sure it is when it comes down to a few choices and town just cant decide it's usually the one who can prove they arnt scum that gets to live people also get Lock Cleared as off lately essentially proving they are not scum.
