The only thing that I can see from someone claiming this early is to hope for a null reaction, because thats what they know they will get. I don't see why town would be so sure to get a null reaction though.

The psychoanalysis of a open scum claim is hurting my brain...

This is the best part though!

Indeed but why would mafia?  High risk high reward is cool to play on occasion but it's not enough incentive when one could win this game without speaking atm or one could play a ton of other ways that are less risk with high rewards still.  It is quite a quandary.

I agree with Darthe about early town claim or scum claim not being a tell either way.

We have an advanced game with unknown mechanics however. This experimental clock design might have interesting stuff

So I'll treat scum claims by voting them.

Simple? Yes. But it seems like the way to go.

Small mercy that I haven't missed much

But sucks that is so quiet

As for the Darthe claim

Hopefully now it will show people that claiming town means basically nothing.

The clock thing

There are only 16 of us. So far we have had no, 3, and 2 screams right?

So that means we aren't distributed equally and it is possible there is no one in a sector at all.

It is also possible that we may not be told if we are in a targeted sector. I'm thinking that most of the punishments will be like a null vote, or silencing (you'd be told for that one), or even just give you the potential to hit a trigger if you post something specific during your "hour"

This is all conjecture at this point however. I don't believe I was effected at all, but I was away yesterday and today basically.

A bell tolls, nine times. Three screams can be heard right after.

I was affected.

Strong town lean on Vos

Hi TG!!

so do we  assume Len, Rhea Darthe Pray Csarmi Xthrax and I were not caught in the sector as none of us have said what the effect was?

Im trying to remember the movie. Wasn't there a safe time however brief? was that 9-10?

How did you come up with that list of people?

I would like to hard claim mafia and see what all of you do.

This claim may or may not be accurate and has no more weight than a claim of town, but let us postulate on what affect it has to make a legitimate null claim with a negative stigma associated with it rather than a positive.

Shall we?

You don't policy lynch people for claiming town D1.  Annoying though it may be this is a good chance to explore how irrelevant such a claim is.

Also, this game is ****ing dead.  It's frankly depressing.

I don't believe claiming scum on D1 is irrelevant. Not in an advanced game.

This would seem simple if it weren't for the experimental game mechanics at play. I'm not so sure at this point.

Alright, I was affected when the bell tolled 9. I became lynchproof for 24 hours.

I disagree with Len that everyone should come up and tell what happened to them. Players can make their own judgement call on whether to reveal based on the ability and go ahead with it. In my case, it is better that the town knows that some people may get the lynchproof ability and act accordingly.

That said, I think Darthe had got a similar ability which could be the reason why he claimed what he said.

It is irrelevant when it seems it was just to prove the point "claiming town on Day 1 is irrelevant". So, moving on.

Rhea, are you allowed to say what happened to you when you were in the affected area?

@Darthe: claiming scum (or town) is nor null in an advanced game and you know that. So what's your game?

This is technically accurate.  I suppose that I would be more honest if I said that it is not directional, or that while it is not null it isn't something that can be consistently marked as either a scum or town tell and thus we can only assume that it is Either a scum or town tell.

That argument does not make sense. Nothing in mafia can be "consistently marked" as scum or town tell. Everything is wifom, it is just a question of who is introducing it, when and why.

I wasn't sure until Pray posted his. I became lynchproof for 24 hours as well.

Um, if anybody ever thought claiming town carried any weight, they need to sign up for remedial mafia lessons.

Could you guys get those claims clear please?

1) When were you affected (time)?

2) What was the effect?

3) Were you allowed to tell that you were affected? (don't answer this if you don't want to)

Official vote count

Dice (1): TG
TG (1): Krak
Darthe (1): Vos

Not voting: Amega, Darthe, Csarmi, Xthrax, Pral, Monk, Dap, Verb, Krak, Time, Dice, Hallia, Lenlo, Rhea.

No deadline yet

Since the game started on the weekend, I have been lenient with the activity rule, but from today that will change. Remember, 1 game related post pr RL day or 3 pr game day.

I just wanted to get an idea of what each wedge does. Not everyone need come forward, id just prefer 1 per wedge.

Oh oh oh can I sign up! Sounds fun.

Um just to be clear, Hallia, Pray and Rhea were all affected by the 9-10 wedge right? Has anyone come forward for the 7-6 wedge?

Also are you allowed to say it only after the effect has passed or while it is going on?

Salami has done so within the first ten pages of at least eight games in recent memory and yet here he argues that he wants to lynch anyone for doing the same except with the word mafia. Yet he doesnt vote me. What does this say to you?

So much wrong with your last post Darthe I don't even know where to start. Basically, there isn't a single item in your post that's true.

Let's see.

I never "claimed town". Moreover, even the question is wrong as it (from you I believe deliberately) confuses, mixes up situations.

"Claiming town" is not null in an advanced game. Claiming scum is not null either. Worse, they are in no way equal.

I argue I'd like to lynch anyone who claims scum on this game. Cause it's not null. It can only help Maffia.

You haven't claimed anything.

Posted

As for why its not null (examples, exaggerated)

Role = LD

Mechanics = trigger, you need to claim on your next post and you can't lie

Didn't you claim VT in the last game I was with you?

As for the effect, I was not told if I could say anything when it was given to me. So I didn't until I came back and read the game through. I wasn't sure if I could actually say what the effect was until after I saw Pray.
