In other news:

Des hasn't yet called anyone obvious scum...  Not sure what to make of that

@Wombat: Opportunistic? How so? I voted Verb yesterday, didn't like his response and on reread he still stood out. How is me voting him today opportunistic? And nice job ditching Verb's train prematurely.

Which I really don't understand btw. Verbal's defense so far consists of a scummy soft claim, and saying anyone who attacks him is either scum or stupid town. That's it. Sorry but that's not NEAR enough to make me move my vote.

@BFG: I think you misunderstood my point against Wombat. The point is, if he was town, he wouldnt know at all whether you'd be scum and therefore not likely to get NK'ed. He assumed you could be NK'ed, which comes close to looking like he knows you are town, which would make him mafia.

I do like your points against Leelou/Golden tho. Still think Verb is the better lynch however.

AJ has been relatively silent this game and looks to be playing a bit careful

Nudging Cloud votes

unvote vote Cloud

Still feel good about the Cloud lynch.

His 'fake' QT post was just terribad.

Standby for the inevitable 'it was a joke' statement.

One random hopeful vote today

vote BFG

Quiet D1. Come out and play sis

He has also been buddying GoldenEyes quite a bit

Why would you be voting Goldeneyes?

GE at least showed some conviction with his Pral vote, although it wasn't helping majority.

I like the observation on Verb.

That's pretty much about it.

That said, the Leelou votes died down once she got replaced and votes erased.

She being aggressive on Day 1 definitely seemed out of place.. Especially her interactions with Cloud and pushing him to a corner.

GoldenEyes has been slightly mellow and his return vote on me did not look convincing either.

Verb seems mostly town and Des and Wombat seems to be playing their usual self. One of these three is scum. I am leaning towards Wombat.

BFG's recent posts were totally pointless. Just comments of vote counts and random comments. Definitely looks suspicious.

Blackhoof. I don't know if this is how he normally plays but both his D1 and D2 posts are either nudging or voting opportunistic. Looks too obvious to be true however.

Nothing on Ishy.

So far, I am leaning on GoldenEyes or AJ as the top suspects.

Y u no vote then? I admit, I haven't been paying this game a lot of due attention. I have one game I'm modding (which is wrapping up) and two others that I'm playing in. One is pretty deep in game and the other one started on the same day as this. No excuses though, I will try to be more active. D1 was sort of a mess for me, and I really just wanted Cloud dead for his dooky linkage job he did with me.

Vote Hoof.

Ping.

I don't like Verbal's softclaim... at like, 2 votes. way premature

if you have a claim, make it, don't hint at one. it leaves it nicely open for you to avoid having to claim a role and possibly be counter-claimed.

From now until midnight my time (that's about 5 hours and 20 minutes) there will be two special events that can be triggered.

You will be told if you triggered an event but you will not be told what the trigger was. The same person may trigger both events.

Good luck.

Edit: I don't want to see 100% spam. I don't mind posting over and over again (maybe that's one of the triggers ) but please try to keep the posts game relevant.

Gross rolefishing is gross.

if its a choice between claiming or not claiming at all then claiming wins out every time. softclaiming is just suspicious.

Noice. Hmmm... to trigger or not to trigger...

Can we just completely get rid of the notion that its fishing if you point out that someone's soft claim is scummy? The person that soft claims INVITES those type of somments when they do so. Soft claiming under pressure is scummy, period. Pointing it out is NOT scummy.

Every time you say that, this skit pops into mind.

Also, trigger?

Disagree.

The only other option is abandoning the verbal lynch and letting him continue through the game with his vague softclaim protecting him.

Ishy is right on both accounts. Voting an outlier right before a lynch is antitown, cause you're pretty much throwing your vote away and showing an unwillingness to help secure a lynch. It's almost always better to make sure a lynch is secured before deadline than not, since even mislynches can be useful for town. Missed lynches tho, as in where we don't obtain a majority, usually serve as a big distraction the next day, and generally rob the town of info that it desperately needs.

As far as inactivity, I agree that it's generally antitown, however going after one is counterproductive and possibly very risky. It's counterproductive because you're less likely to get good info- the inactive might not even respond to your vote, and if they're scum will likely just get bussed if it comes down to it. And it's risky because it could lead to either a mislynch on a PR, very bad, or outing a PR who was trying to lay low to escape scum attention (which isn't a good strategy imo, but that's a diff discussion).

Darthe flipping town makes me less sure of Hoof, was sure they were teammates. Verbal still looks mighty scummy to me tho, and his flippant responses to me don't come close to making me feel better about him.

Vote Verbal.

Thanks. The bolded parts make sense to me. I still didn't agree with either train Day 1 though. I don't like voting without a read. If people don't like it, that's their choice.

I'll be back after isolating on a few people and vote, I appreciate the game theory.

Quick breakdown of Verbal's game since he disagrees with Wombat's accusation that he's not really playing much

20 posts total

8 jokes

1 request for a deadline

5 posts defending himself

5 posts of gameplay

Haha jokey let's all be friends posts: 8

Post requesting a deadline: 1

Posts spent defending himself or his meta: 5

Fluff: 1

Actual Gameplay: 5

So, game-related posts run about 50% with half of those dedicated to self preservation. Fair enough, but every scum read he gets comes from someone who has a scum read on him. Wombat, Des and Hoof all got a scum read on Verbal and he accuses them all at one point in time or another of being scummy.

I really don't like the "you'll see I was right all along when I flip" argument (#4 in defensive posts section) and he manages to attempt a posthumous link between himself to Darthe when calling out Hoof.

Eh? That looked a bit forced to enter the train. You basically have one or two points against Verbal, which is fair enough, but the whole first part of that case was pointless. Looks more like you wanted to add text to make it look serious and compelling. But, basically fluff.

Just reinforces my previous suspcion

No, that is towards both you and Wombat, the original 2 people on my train.  Don't make something out of that which doesn't exist.

Oh and Verb is obvious scum

Thanks.  No better confirmation of town!!
