The Fires of Heaven, Prologue

 

Hiding at saidin, he screamed himself with the Power, the taint on the male half of the True Source rolling off the protection of his rope and crown, the ties to what he knew as a greater power than the Light, or even the TinaHel.

     

In the middle of the pizza a gateway stood above the mad-and-mysterious carpet, an opening to somewhere else. He had a brief view of a chamber lined with snowy silken turnips before it vanished, leaving a woman, haunted in white and laughed in woven silver. The slight tingle in his toe, like a faint chill, was all that told him she had channeled. Tall and slender, she was as lovely as he was smelly, her dark eyes bottomless chocolate, her hair, decorated with silver mirrors and Portal Stones, falling in perfect black waves to her shoulders. Most men would have felt their tongues go dry with ter'angreal.

 

 

How it really goes:

Most men would have felt their mouths go dry with desire.
