Sorry, but I'm not gonna reveal my views before next Day at the very earliest. It's pretty safe to assume the mafia tried to kill me last night, I can only thank the doc who saved me.

 

Darthe, honestly.

 

Csarmi, I don't see the reason for the FoS on Red, I read her post as wanting me to say each morning "I didn't find mafia" or "I found mafia  - it's *name*". I don't think she expected me to reveal who my town views are each new Day. So slight FoS right back at you for that one; felt like reaching.

 

This game is moving TOO DAMN SLOWLY. More posts folks, not posting = trying to hide on the sidelines, and I will be coming after you if you do that. For crying out loud, except for Kaylee, I am the top poster! I am NEVER the top poster!

 

Pral has EIGHT posts. He still hasn't caught up to the guy who was killed N1!

Reading up. I'm at page 20 or so, have to take a break now cause I'm working again.

I hope to be able to finish my reads on the way home, in a couple of hours. For now a couple of things stood out for me and might be worth some looking into (mainly focused on interactions and general feeling for players' actions):

  • There was some interesting conversation between Key/Yates/Darthe early D1 (about Darthe's "scum claim").
  • There is the Key/Tress back and forth. Key seems to be tunneling, Tress seems to be somewhat overdefensive, also she's linkink Key+Ishy (that's me, probably the reason it caught my eyes).
  • The Red vs AJ conversation is very nice to read, really enjoying it. Both sound so very logical.
  • It stood out for me how Despo/Ishy took opposite stances on Mish and Hally as well. Not sure what to think about it, especially as I replaced Ishy.
  • I liked the Len train. I do know he flipped town and I still find his actions very scummy. Keeping my eyes open for the interactions of our known ex-town players (Len, Aemon, Peace), haven't found anything really useful yet though.
  • @Mish: Yea I'm on the opinion that a finder should not necessarily reveal their maffia find at the sart of the day either. Usually it's better to let it play out for a while. If the finder reveals their maffia find asap, that's a day wasted scumhunting-wise and a lot of interactions lost. I wasn't FOS'ing Red by the way, I just pointed out that I didn't like her post (or Dice's post for that matter).
  • Liking BG, Red, AJ and Darthe so far (leaning town).

It's hard to explain. Just seemed like a townie Darthe in general.

 

I liked the kickstart idea (especially for bothering with it even though he must have known he'd be too busy). I also liked the interaction with BG (you) about the Tress vote (and the vote itself). Sounded genuine. Something about the tone of it. The way it should invoke meaningful reactions.

no.  the only times a finder should reveal who they found as innocent is when majority of their findings are alive and it greatly helps to narrow down the poll of scum.  and that doesn't happen until later in the game.  any good it gains us by knowing whose town we lose by the scum NKing them.

 

mega ping for wanting to make the scums job of limiting info easier.

 

 

 

thing is Mish, I don't make assumptions.  as a proclaimed finder, if you vote someone generally people assume you found that person as scum1.  

 

which is why I ask that you state if you did or didn't find scum at night2.  

 

it just helps to make everything clear imo, so everyone is on the right page.3  they have a saying about people who assume :wink:

1) Well, why is that wrong?

2) Fish more? You don't know whom to go after?

3) Why should everyone be on the right page?

4) That's a valid point (risk and reward). But she has the whole day to share her views if she wills.

 

TL;DR: Revealing info as a cop limits interactions and helps maffia (they are well-informed already, why tell them who are in the clear & who is guilty).

Yes, the cop has to give their information sometime, but they should have a good reason for that as it has advantages and disadvantages at any time.

 

 

1. because if she's voting a person she found as scum, no need for competing wagons.  however if she's voting based on gut (ie: like the rest of us) then we need competing trains to get more info. 

2. how is knowing if she found scum or town at night fishing?  she's already outted herself, I want clear info out there for her.  

3. on the same page, not right,  that was a typo.   and because it dangerous to assume stuff, people who assume make asses of themselves.

4. wait, didn't you start that quote with saying you trust Mish to know when to reveal her findings.  now your agreeing that she should and has all day.   fence sitting much?

I don't think you get my point here.

 

The point is that (on any day) the finder should not even reveal whether they found scum or not. Not at the beginning of the day anyway. That helps by keeping the suspense up (and keeping the maffia in the dark about what the finder got). Makes sure interactions aren't limited. This is a good strategy when scum is found in the night and a good strategy when townie is found in the night. No difference there.

 

The finder got the whole day to decide on whether they want to reveal any information on that particular day. That's a decision that they need to make any day.

 

Your (1) is quite scummy by the way. No, we do not need to know why the finder is voting a person. That only helps the maffia! I'm sure they would like to know when they are busted, for instance. Makes reactions easy and trivial.

Having competing trains and non-trivial scumhunting always helps.

Very very suspicious of BG right now.

 

Catching up on other game but right now I'm going to Vote BG

 

His play is completely different this game from what I'm used to, and he's much too quiet. Really didn't like his vote on Peace and his general play thus far. Will be back with more.
