and here is a longer list that was Written by Ash to tell more about the server

Greetings and welcome to the Ash Realms World of Warcraft private server!

We've added quite a lot of items/quests into the game to follow along with our "Army of Darkness" theme. I hope you enjoy your time here! Feel free to submit suggestions on the website forums or send them in-game to "Ash" on any our realms. :D

Some helpful info about our servers:

* Customizable, upgradable vanity pet that will learn spells and abilities as you feed it items. The stronger it gets, the stronger it looks! Speak with the Prizes NPC to learn more!

* PvP: We've added restrictions to prevent "ganking" of low level players. PVP is restricted to players within 9 levels of you unless you are in an arena area (i.e. Gurubashi Arena) or you are dueling.

* All servers have Dual Spec fully working!

* Most of our Dungeons are COMPLETELY scripted to retail standards. Northrend dungeons use a combination of normal and heroic; combining drops from both and about 2/3rd of the Heroic difficulty. Dark Ash has reduced difficulty on all Dungeons and Raids to allow for easier non-pvp gear acquiring.

* Player ran raids happen many times a day and take strategy to complete.

* We have more working spells/talents, quests, scripts, and dungeons than any other server. Guaranteed!

* You can talk, party, trade , follow and GUILD with ANYONE; faction doesn't matter! Dark Ash players can also KILL anyone regardless of faction.

* On Bad Ash you get free mounts at levels 1, swift at 15, FLYING mounts that work in all mountable zones (even Azeroth) at 30, 310% Flying at 40, and our exclusive BATTLE MOUNTS that allow you to fight while flying starting at 50!

* On Dark Ash and Kick Ash you get Non-swift ground AND flying mounts that work in all non-instances are FREE at level 1! You can get swift flying mounts at 15, and our exclusive BATTLE MOUNTS (combat with all your abilities while flying) at level 30!

* You can have 5 professions instead of 2.

* Even 'gray' items/gathering for professions have a chance to raise skill.

* Guilds can be created with only 5 petition signings.

* Look for custom leveling quests and vendors near the banks in Undercity and Stormwind.

* Find the Prizes quest giver in Darnassus or Orgrimmar near the bank for custom end-game gear quests and items. Donor rewards are given by Rewards NPC and Vote rewards are given by the Auditor quest giver in the same area.

* Every donor reward also has a method to be obtained through custom quest NPC's. The actual reward for donating is maintaining the server while saving you time on the epic-length quests.

* Arena Teams, Alterac Valley, Eye of the Storm, Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch battlegrounds are working! Minimum 1 player per side on battlegrounds.

* Arena Teams require a minimum of 5 games played per week and points are given weekly.

* You get rested experience while you're offline no matter where you log out.

* Mail delivery and auction house sales/wins are instant!

* Instances do not have raid requirements to enter (but some have item and/or quest requirements).

* The LookingForGroup channel is the place for public communication. Spam will be muted. Keep Guild recruitment ads to once per 15 minutes!

* Raiding: Bind on Pickup items will NOT bind immediately until you LEAVE the instance (or the TAROT room) so they may be traded until then!

I think it is things like Mr T and Mohawk grenades or the new jewelry daily quests that are jokes on the show Futurama. Just the way it blends fantasy game play with pop-culture references. I know it keeps me laughing and coming back.

I also love all the addons there was one a long time ago that let you make items in game (only people with the same addon could see it but it was fun anyway) there was a G.M. om my server named Warland that was a pain in the @$ and i made the item below to get a laugh. Warland even thought it was funny when i posted it on forums and was a lot nicer for a few weeks

O_O

What is it about WoW which attracts so many players?

Thats a tough question. When you first sign up, it is the thrill of leveling a new toon. Unless you sit at home and do nothing else, this could take a few weeks. Once you have them leveled then you focus on getting the best gear. Then there are so many things on the side to do. Like level alts, level your professions, play in the auction house, etc. Really what is holding my attention right now is raiding. I raid with a dedicated team on the weekends. Even though this is getting a bit old since we raid the some content, I like the challenge. About the time you get tired of running an instance or raid, they add new content to draw you back in.

It was Emp's charming smile that drew me back in!

And if you don't think Emp has a charming smile... I will fight you! That's no lie.

WoW is a fairly easy game to play, excepting pvp (which is rough pretty much no matter what game you play) and raiding, which honestly keeps sliding from mind-numbing to brutal in its difficulty and complexity. Leveling up mostly takes time, and not a ton of difficult effort. The graphics are of the cartoon variety, but pretty well done for all of that, and there is enough variety in the gaming world (zones run from volcanic to deep ocean, and everything in between) to keep even an ADD person happy. And it's not to hard to meet people to do things with.

For myself, I got into it in May of 2005 because some friends did, and I stayed because of the friends I made there. I quit in...I think it was February this year. The people I care most about in the game I have contact with outside of WoW now. The game just wasn't fun for me anymore.

Verbal raiding with my team the other night. Of course I floated him right into Nef which caused our raid to wipe. I think Verbal and I were greatly amused but the rest of the raid didn't get the joke.

I was just joking about this to Varju the other day on the phone. I was more than greatly amused, although I couldn't use the "floating goat" thing anymore now that I'm a dwarf.

I'm now 100% un-trusting of you when you have a priest.

I wasted many an hour, day, month, YEAR on World of Warcraft. I played Ultima Online from 1997-2001 or 2002. Left for Dark Age of Camelot the day it went live. Played that until 2004 or 2005, whatever day WoW went live. Played WoW on Gorefiend from 2004 to present, although Im now on the RpPvP realm Emerald Dream. I havent played it much in the last year tho. Its boring now. But Damn if I didnt put in the time in my day.

So I dusted off my pally tank last night and decided to work on him a bit more. I think I got him up to an ilevel 348 last night which is ok but not enough that I am confident in running in a pug heroric. I think a few more normals to remember how to tank and I should be good to go.

This sounds like a good chance for my Shammy to take his soon-to-be-fresh-enhancement-spec and DPS some normals with you to learn the spec properly.

Yeah man! But can you get on before 9pm?

So I beginning to understand things better and began reforging/regemming my gear towards the right stats. I also need to get DBM which I have avoided. I think tonight I will redo my tool bar. I keep having trouble finding my interrupt and that is bad for a tank :P

Once in a while I can, yes. Just shoot me an email if you plan on being online on your tank, and I'll be there if I can. Or just let me know which days and I'll try to be there.

As for interrupts, I found the best way was to bind them to my mousewheel. So MW-up is my Wind Shear -- works like a charm. Then again, I have a Naga Razor, and I have many of those buttons bound to stuff I need without taking my fingers of my movement keys.

WoW (never played it, but I'm guessing vanilla was OP!!) > WoW TBC > WoW WoTLK > WoW Cata > Guess what'll be here.. You're right... MoP.

Sorry if I'm being pesimistic, but seriously, I can't play this game without puking anymore.. What has happend with PVP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD..

Not really.

MoP $40

Cat $30

Wotlk $20

Battle chest (Base + Burning= $20)

$110+15(monthly fee)

But you might get...4 months free? (30 days from each one? Or at least 1st month free from the base game. Can't recall if you get a 30 days free with each retail purchase or not.)

Right they will probably run some kind of special to rope you in and get you caught up.

I am not a PVPer so I can't comment on your post Arez. I came into WoW during LK. I have no real complaints about the game to be honest.

I may be incorrect, but I thought that with the revamp of the whole world (or close enough to it) that you no longer needed to purchase previous expansions to get into WoW - Cataclysm destroyed the old game set entirely.

Arez, Vanilla had a massive set of problems that were mostly corrected by TBC, though not entirely. Only one class could tank, anyone with a heal button was slotted automatically into healing and their dps was mostly an after thought, classes were massively imbalanced, several group instances were far too large (vanilla BRD.../shudder) and raiding was in its infancy so they would have awesomeness next to total crap all the time. It was only after TBC came out that they started to get a handle on how to make raiding challenging and fun, and they still don't have that entirely locked in. I think most folks that I know agree that TBC was the best overall expansion in terms of instancing, Wrath had the best raid instance to date (that being Ulduar), that the newly crafted world in Cata is awesome to look at but lacks much of anything in the way of replayability, and that the lore has suffered dramatically with each new expansion.

As for PVP, when you have this number of classes, true balance is impossible. Therefore, you have rotating flavor of the month classes and healers are OP. They don't seem to know how to fix that.

I haven't played it since February and honestly Mists doesn't look like it will enthuse me enough to re-up.

I know people who spent 7 hours in a row in there at 60 and still hadn't accomplished a full clear. And I know that I, with a new level 55 alt in TBC, had a group of level 70 friends run me through all of BRD and it took just over two hours to do. Of course, the emperor was really hard to get to without an excellent rogue and an excellent mage at level 60. It feels incredibly epic and large, unless you're trying to do multiple quests in there and not just hit a point of interest or two.

Original Stratholme was awfully hard to full clear at one time, too, until they thinned out some of the trash and more than just the epically elite raiders had access to anything better than the original Dungeon 0 set. I'm not sure how anyone was supposed to clear Valthalak for the .5 upgrade without some raider geared friends. There's a guy I know who had the only Darkmantle set on the server and he got it with the help of 3 folks from the highest end raiding guild we had plus another friend from our guild to do it, and they only barely got it. That fight was an absolute bastard.

And then there was the Horde side attunement for Onyxia.... /rage

So, my WoW experience has taken a full 180 degree turn.

I was a PvEer and loved to raid. Got to raid a bunch of times with Emp and the peeps in our guild and it was awesome fun. My RL friend and I joined back in vanilla, left for a while, came back in BC, left for a while, and then returned for good with the start of Wrath. We've been on since. But another RL friend joined, and then a 3rd. Now there are 4 of us that log in together while on Skype and play.

But now I PvP. I love it. I can't get enough. We do BGs, and we do arenas. I don't PvE at all anymore. I will with MoP to see the content, but then it's back into PvP. Like crack, it is.

I'm even leveling alts right now for more PvP options when MoP hits. Hell, I'm even DUAL-BOXING to get the refer-a-friend bonus and speed level the alts. So much fun.

Glad you're enjoying it. Honestly, for me pvp is no fun if I don't have a group of buddies so that I don't have to deal with the terminal two year olds in BGs. WOW's pvp community makes me retch in realy life.
