I liked this episode. Probably because I expected to not like it and was pleasantly surprised at Daryl's breakdown of feeling like he could have done something to stop the Governor. Some under bubbling of Merle bitterness within that, and Beth's line of how she knows she won't last nearly as long as Daryl was pretty poignant I think. Anyway, I wasn't expecting much from this episode and I was plesantly surprised. I was much more disappointed in the Carl/Michonne blah de blahs.

TV shows and movies change stuff when they're source material is a book, or in this case graphic novels. Just how it is, and always will be.

Gotta feeling next episode things go boom.

I'm glad Glenn and Maggie finally found each other, I was starting to get tired of the "to the ends of the earth" deal they had going on.

Also wtf? Terminus doesn't seem very secure.

People can just walk right in. And why does it seem like only the one lady lives there?

I'm confused.

It has a very creepy feel. First thing that popped in my head is that she's turned canibal. No idea if that's where it's going, but she did have some meat frying, and she doesn't have the hunter vibe about her.

My spidersense tingling tells me, Terminus is an end for all those who go there. And not the end of searching for a home but their lives.

Terminus:

a final point in space or time; an end or extremity.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminus_(god)

In Roman religionTerminus was the god who protected boundary markers; his name was the Latin word for such a marker. Sacrifices were performed to sanctify each boundary stone, and landowners celebrated a festival called the "Terminalia" in Terminus' honor each year on February 23

Without even looking at other walking-dead theories out there, my first guess is.

Terminus is a giant trap/farm for human flesh.

If you consider the guy who attacked Daryl's group, who fled to terminus, the series of events that are about to unfold, speak of Daryl's group busting into Terminus, in the nick of time to help save Rick, Glenn, Maggie, ect.

Assuming of course, his group doesn't get captured, and it isn't someone else (like rick) doing the saving.

But the preview doesn't look to good for Rick.

i got a culty vibe from the place.  but human flesh farm and cannibals is a good guess.  the group has yet to really go up against one of those, and imo cannabilism is always a major villan in any post apocalyptic world.

but, you do realize that the biker group was talking about Rick right?

re-maggy and glenn.   look at it from their POV.  its a harsh world, everyone they know could be dead tomorrow.  what little you have to hold onto, you hold onto with all of your might becuase tomorrow when you wake up it just might be gone.  finding a partner, not out of survival but out of love and someone you can trust 100% to have your back in any situation is a long shot.

add into that, their history.  with what happened with the governor, that maggy was just starting to come back aroudn and open back up to glenn, and that they had almost lost one another when glenn got sick.

damn right they'd be like that; either finding eachother or being the ones to kil the zombie-fied version of eachother; to make sure their loved one wasn't dommed to walk the earth in that state for eternity.   i'd be the same about Bubba in that situation, so i felt empathy for them.

i do wish that they'd tie up the beth story though, i hate that their leaving it open like that.  i really was starting to like her character and how she was developing and maturing.

So I guess Beth and whoever kidnapped her is going to have to save the day?

Like...I dunno...that was just a really weird ending.

And the flash backs? Did they serve any purpose? If so I didn't get it.

Also that was a lame ending for Joe's gang imo.

Woulda been cool if we had them for next season.

They could have been trapped with Rick & Co and caused tension leading up to and during any escapes.

Oh well.

Carol and Tyrese are still out there.

The flash backs were to me showing why Rick changed in the prison and why it was okay for him to tone down and not be the brutal guy he wad been before.  He was remembering those things as a happier time, because now he's having to go back to what he was turning into before the prison, and I think he's a little scared that Carl may start to regress as well.  Carl already admitted, he still has "those thoughts."

And season finale endings always suck because they have to leave stuff unanswered and just sort of leave everyone hanging out there, it drives people back when the show returns.... when ever that is.

As for Joe's gang... Meh I'm good with the way they went, I'd have been fine if they stuck around too, though, they always had the feel of being a "vehicle" to get Daryl back to some part of the group.

I'm with you Red on the Beth plot... I wish we'd have gotten a glimpse of something about her.  They way left it you know we're going find out one way or another about what happened to her.  I mean in a real life situation it's entirely possible that she may disappear and never be heard from again, but with a TV show they've got to either kill her off, bring her back, or let us know she went of somewhere and lived happily ever after.

BTW it feels good knowing I actually got a prediction right.

Oh yeah I forgot about Carol and Tyrese.

Not sure what they're gonna do though.

I still think the day will be saved by Beth somehow via her captor.

Actually....

Calling it now.

Carol and Tyrese are going to get close to Terminus but get stopped by Beth/whoever has her and together they're all going to bust Rick & Co out.

I thought the flashbacks were perfect, this half of the seasons started with "Farmer Rick", we never really got to see the evolution from Billy bad ass, to that. Now, we all knew why, but coupling those flashback with the return of bad-ass rick (and an even more ruthless one at that) was just great. showing the viciousness of rick, then flashbacks of the taming, allows you to really see how far rick has come.

I thought it was a fitting ending for Joe's gang, there really was nothing special about them, just another random mean guy group that Rick and

company take care of. But giving them a little back story so that we know how bad they are, then you put Rick at their mercy, there was really know way there current mentality could defeat that, as we see in the onset of there "captivity". Rick had to shed all his hesitation to brutality to save Carl, and he did.

I think the reason they left Beth and Tyresse (sp) group out of it is if you add Beth or Judith to the mix at terminus, you really take away from the groups "bite", I mean Beth is just cannon fodder, and no one is going to put Judith in that position, at least rick somewhat views that Carl is part of the "hit squad" and knows how to take care of himself. This gives them a chance to fight like they have nothing to loose.

I'm gonna say that Carol and Tyresse are going to save Beth (maybe recruit her captors?) and they will lead the assault to save rick. That way you can have Beth in the background taking care of Judith, without slapping them in the middle of a gun fight.

And come on, the ending? That last line was perfect, the chuckle, the delivery, just awesome. I think the episodes this half of the season have been a little hit and miss, so this was just a great final ending to it.
