FWIW, Leelou said she doesn't have a last name in any thread, which is confirmed in T2.

Which in and of itself is a pattern.  Thanks for reminding me.

Fair point Yates. I understood Mish to be saying that there hasn't been any proof the common name thing doesn't apply to mafia as well. In fact, looking at Darthe/Wombat flips in the openings, it suggests the mafia would have similar names as past lives.

Despo, for all your analysis of the opening posts I find it odd to believe you'd even consider that people would be mafia in all 3 based upon game setup/names/etc. You can clearly see Darthe was mafia in one thread and not another, you said it yourself. So I don't even get why you'd lay that out there. I'm not saying its impossible someone is mafia in all 3, but your reasoning is bad and test lynching someone in another thread is a similarly bad idea.

My names are Morna Maccanish, Gregory Macintosh and Sia W. M. Smith

The third name is a bit off but I guess it expands to Macintosh-Smith.

You got married I see. Congrats.

I'm Osbern Pentecost, Erin Shawn, and Commander Snow. Absolutley no pattern whatsoever, but I'm town in all three games nonetheless.

Des: Peace was acting scummy imo so of course the scenarios I put out had him as scum in each.

I was basically saying IF Peace is scum, which of these would be true?

It's possible neither and/or that he isn't scum. Basically just replying and thinking out loud.

My names are also pretty random across the 3 threads. I'm a bit worried by all this name-claiming. Is there a chance character names play a role in the actual gameplay?

I don't particularly like Desp and Yates trying to read too much into names. If they thought they could be identified by their names, surely scum wouldn't just come out claiming...

Don't tie me into this.  *I* said not to read too much into it YET but if a pattern forms it's worth noting.  I noted a pattern I saw in Salami's flips and posted the information for reference.  Did the same thing with the Salami wagon.  Why are you acting like collecting information is not in our best interest?

You may have said that earlier, but you were sure acting as though it might make a difference.

If name-claims might be game related, I think it should be pretty obvious why I'm worried by someone baiting claims. If names aren't game related, I really don't see any chance of the pattern of names correlating with alignment.

But Yates Im saying that my names have no pattern at all. So theory is bust.

You see why I find that difficult to believe, right?  Salami flipped Town in all 3 games and has a pattern.  BG has claimed all three of his names and there's a pattern.  I know all three of my names and they have a pattern.  Des claims all three of his names have a pattern.  Not having a pattern is the anomaly so far.

Does anyone else have three names that don't have a pattern?

Nope. My names are Bonnie Kay, Don Kay, and again Bonnie Kay. I don't see how we can conclude anything from the names though since some people seem to have names without any kind of pattern.

I think that Chuckles is scum and he didn't manage to give a proper explanation why he didn't vote for Csarmi, and I'm not buying the "I didn't have enough time" thing. If you had enough time to keep prodding and interacting with him then you could as well have voted for him. I'm also liking Despo and Mish this game.

Nol said his three names were different and distinct

Basically this. The names thing could be something„ could be nothing. Ignoring possible info could be bad for town.

A good scumhunter doesn't dismiss any possibility, even if it is a little far fetched. And I don't have one grand unifying theory yet (shout out the the nerds out there!), more like some collective theories that are still fleshing out. I highly doubt were dealing with the same scum in each thread, however their might be a case where one or two are scum in each. Either way it's an easy theory to test, and moreover I found Cloud scummy in that thread AND his lynch can test more than one theory
