I made the case because I disliked Dap's stance on Vam's vote on Darthe, and his inconsistency with Chuckles posts regardig Darthe's crazy theory. I liked it more and more because Dap only later felt the need to place a vote on Vam and was urging the rest to get a train started. Happy? And no I haven't forgotten it and I don't even know where you have gotten that idea from.

If you were helpful Town - you would have simply told me this when I first asked - instead of being obstructive and telling me to go back and look myself.

I don't think I ever said that I thought Dap was Town. I said I thought that you were Mafia. I don't have any idead about who is Town as yet.

 

For all I know your crafted case could be on a team mate - as it is very flimsy indeed.

Explain how his defensiveness is scummy.  What did he say that was scummy?

 

This pressure trend on DM is just dumb.  What is running up votes on him going to accomplish other than a claim of some sort?  Think the process through why don't you?

 

Possible outcomes of vote pressure:

 

Claims vanilla - everyone says its ok to lynch vanilla and said player gets lynched.  May or may not flip town but no info gained because there was only vote pressure.  Not discussion pressure.

 

Claims a role - Everyone backs off and runs up someone else to force a claim.  Now the scum team knows a roled player day 1.  How is this beneficial to town?

 

 

My point is if you are going to vote on a train...be specific with a real supported reason for your vote.  If you are town...stop being lazy.  If scum...well, carry on.

 

 

TLDR version.  There is no good info gleamed from run ups for the sake of pressure without discussion and interaction.

1st states he couldn't be bothered to defend himself. Then states he is being defensive but it's a null tell.

 

He is using his alleged meta to defend himself - whilst saying he can't be bothered to defend. And earlier he said he didn't know what his meta was.

 

He is going around and around because he picked the wrong target and came in too hard and has now been caught out.

I actually agree with you Peace RE: the voting while stating for "pressure". It basically seems to me that it is a random attempt to get someone tomake a mistake so they can say "Aha! you are scummy! Lynch them!" I sort of had the impression that was what you were doing with Panchi and also what Dap was doing with Vam. I get more suspicious when it is a person that is IMO more likely to make said mistake either due to being inexperienced or due to language differences.

You are "defending" in same manner I am "defending."  I was making a point there and I know you grasped it.  (To be clear, neither of us is really defending.)

 

I didn't find anything particularly scummy in Clouds big post.  Ithi has.  I also feel most of her points have some basis and she is applying pressure in town helpful way.  As opposed to Hallia who was being opportunistic.  There is a reason I haven't commented on Ithi's case.  It's good play and I want to see it play out. 

 

If you don't find Hallia's play scummy, explain to me how it benefits town?

I don't particularly like Hallia's jump (and her following manner. I keep thinking of a little dog that barks as long as the big dog is there too) but what I was seeing out of you was jumping to defend cloud again and basically ignoring him as a lynch candidate. (my opinion)

 

If you think that Ithi's points have some basis/merit why do you not think that Cloud's post is "scummy"?  That seems contradictory to me. I may be missing something there.

 

Hallia, anyone else beside Cloud that you think is mafia?

 

Since I asked my most likely group would be:

 

Cloud: for the entire meltdown with Ithi

Peace: for not considering Cloud IMO

 

 

Hallia: easy lynch jump. I haven't played too many basic games lately, how likely are 3rd party in Basic games? If they are I would call her as potentially third party, since I doubt she would be on a team with both Peace and Cloud.

The poke at Darthe was about his comment in the sign ups about how he'd eventually get a town role if he continued to enter games. I wasn't infering that he did, I was asking. I can see how my wording might have been a little confusing.

Was this a "joke" vote? I wasn't sure. Also how can you say that Darthe is town after that post? I view it as strictly a continuation bet as it were in poker.

 

I already answered about the comment above ^ when Des asked me the same thing. Not sure what you meant with the poker reference. My vote on Vam wasn't a joke... I don't really place joke votes. He seemed eager for the game to get started from some of the things he was saying/doing in the sign up thread after role PMs had been sent and we were waiting on Peace to begin. Eager for the game to begin or because he liked his PM? I placed the vote to see how he'd react. Of course, I got off work shortly after and he was then thoroughly distracted by Dap's hounding.

 

We should all lynch hallia for her opportunistic vote and weak reasoning.

Your argument about pressure voting makes sense in my mind, but I don't like this. On the other hand, it seems Cloud has already been pressured quite thoroughly from Ithi, so Hallia's vote does seem a bit of a reach based on her reason. Something easy to latch onto.

 

Cloud's initial casing doesn't really seem off to me meta wise, he usually does early on to get things going. I've seen him do this both as town or mafia, so the early case is kind of null to me. Ithi is playing as aggressive as she seems to be known for. Confidence doesn't always mean correctness however. I am more interested in the others who have followed her and voted for Cloud.

 

Still unsure of what to make of Peace. Dap seems to be more free with his votes, but is chatty as usual. I didn't like him throwing out the idea of starting a quick train on Vam earlier.

 

I don't have much else on anyone at the moment. I find the comments on Despo interesting, but I have never played with him personally.

I guess I wasn't clear earlier.  I don't think Cloud's initial WOT was particularly scummy.  I had a null tell on it..but I do like the effort.   When someone plays like that they expose themselves to questioning whether they are town or scum.  Other players, ie Ithi, will see things that they think need clarification or pressure.  Hence, I understand Ithi's position and like the discussion.  She's placed him firmly on a stand that can be referred back to later.  Therefore I have no issue with her approach.  In fact, its the kind of reproach that Hallia should have taken if she is town.
