So this game is moving way to fast for me. I can't keep up. I have no idea what is going on. Hell I have no idea who is scummy or who is not. I'm more confused this game than I was my first game.

 

Many complain DM games are too slow. I actually enjoy the fact that I have time to contemplate what is going on. This game has the potential to be great and I think many of you can make it that way. However it is clear to me that I'm not going to be an asset to my team.

 

@mod...this is not a reflection on you or your game...I just can't add any thoughts because I simply can't keep up and all my thoughts get jumbled

 

With that in mind I'm more of a hindrance than a help

Rand was not. If I'd been given a camera I'd have done it by now.

And I'm really uncomfortable with EP after that "casing".

  

 

I didn't like this post during the EP lynch. She insinuates that someone with a FLIR should view Rand, and nudges the EP train without voting him. To me this is the signature of how scum typically steers town vs. town.

 

Also, apologies to EP, I thought for sure he was OMGUSing me to protect converted FLIR peeps. The bad meta just seemed desperate.

I would like to apologize for my behavior on my last couple of posts. I don't expect many of you to understand what is going on but I'll explain to an extent. I have an emotional disorder and had a depression and anxiety attack last night. Because of that I did something really stupid. I tried to drink it away. This morning I was still feeling that way and was feeling completely worthless which is why I reacted the way I did. My apologies to all of you. I have my personal issues mostly under control right now and I'd like to give this another try.

Ape, I didn't insinuate anything. I answered the question that Rand had not been viewed, and added the fact that if I'd had the chance to, I'd have done it myself. I've been suspicious of him all game.

 

As for EP, he was getting very close to being lynched at that point, and I wanted a chance to think about things before voting. I'd just gotten back into civilisation after a couple of days in the woods, and was catching up. I developed a headache and went to bed early, and frankly was feeling bad enough that I forgot about the game until I woke up this morning.

 

I felt like EP was reaching on a lot of his comments, to be honest. I was particularly uncomfortable with the way he went after Darthe, who had just been viewed as town the previous phase - if we accept that whoever is converting the possessed will be going after those who have been viewed as town, those who were viewed earlier in the game seem a bigger risk than one who was viewed most recently.

 

The main reason I didn't feel uncomfortable enough to vote him right then was that I agreed with him about Rand.

 

And in the absence of a viewing, I'm still looking at Rand as the best option. I'll be back at my house tonight with my laptop, which will make it easier to page back and look for other pings.

Regardless of whether it helped or hurt, I do apologize for calling it stupid. Not having known what was going on.

 

As for my vote on Songstress, what I typically do when scum hunting is look for people who get behind town-on-town violence, but do it in a way where they maybe push it without having to big a role in it. The way Songstress dropped in, gave us a melodramatic "I feel worse about EP now" statement, it basically was like pouring fuel on the fire... but notice she didn't vote him. Nudge a train without getting on it. Feels dirty to me.

 

As for her commenting on how Rand should be FLIR'ed it's also sketchy. It creates a wifom about whether someone with the FLIR should view Rand, because she's essentially soft-steering the use of the item. 

 

In general, you won't find scum pied-pipering stuff in these games, especially not big ones. You will find them in the nuance of scenarios pushing things in the direction that favor their outcome.

 

My guess is she's either suggesting we waste the FLIR on Rand because he's town, OR scum mates with him and hoping the wifom keeps him from being viewed. 

 

That's the best I've got on her, or anyone else, for now.

I accused you of insinuating that Rand should be viewed, by saying that's who you would view. You can spin it however you want, but that's basically what that statement accomplishes. It's like me saying "golly, if I had a hammer I'd smash nolder in the face with it". Well, whoever does have the hammer may or may not be influenced by a comment like this.

 

That's where I'm at. I've got plans tonight, then I'll try to read some other people and maybe add to my list for this hour. Right now, your post was the only thing that jumped out at me as ping worthy.

It's not though. Normally a mod is supposed to take care of people with low activity either by replacing them or by modkilling them because while they remain alive they are a huge liability to town even more so in this game. For whatever reason DPR has chosen not to go that route and I think it's crippled town. We can't leave people with low activity alive because they are prime targets for conversion, even more so if the mafia notices we are neglecting them. But when we lynch them because of their low activity we learn very little about who is likely to be mafia. We're in a really bad position and that sucks but blaming me instead of the people who put us there is cheap.

Last time I did this was nearly every single game I play. Inactivity is a game killer. It is not fun.

If you quit playing that's on you not me, I don't target you specifically. I have nothing against you on a personal level. You know this.

If you are too busy to put in the time to actually play a game then please don't sign up. I've said this before and I'll say it to anyone.

I'm glad you guys like mafia, I like it too. But when you sign up for games you don't have the time to play you're making the game unplayable for the people who DO have the time.
