The Tina train has really taken off quickly she's now at L-2. I see how her lynch could give us info, but not getting a scum read on her.

Gathering info is just as valid a reason to lynch as catching scum is. Good Town players are happy to sacrifice themselves in order to provide info. The goal isn't to survive till the end, it's to win.

I have multiple things I'm considering at this time.

so... the second time you're voting for someone based on something other than whether you think they're scum?

there's still time for the lynch to go a different way, if you think a townie is getting run up... I think she's scum, but I think vam is too, and less strongly, but still, TG. the numbers are there for either, I think.

if I thought she wasn't scum I wouldn't have voted her when I did.

but it's getting late in the day now, so waiting to vote is also kind of a choice?

The second time?

Quite all right, I freely acknowledge I said I would only vote Tiink to avoid a random.  Didn't end up having to vote in that case.

no, cause Tina came in at what was really L-1 and voted, would have been the hammer, but then via voted, so it didnt matter.

but I don't think anyone noticed a vote missing.

and I don't see any way that was going any other way and it was very near dl.

I tried to do quotes but I made a mess.

I find it very unlikely that Tina's post comes from a QT. I've just made an analysis on QuickTopic copying, and the bottom line is this:

In comparison, I've checked the formatting on QuickTopic:

The CSS files used on QT: http://www.quicktopic.com/css/qt-topic.css, http://www.quicktopic.com/css/qt-all.css

Now it would get quite complicated (I could actually quote something from an old QT and go through the analysis step by step, but in the end it seems that for QT cells these formats are applied:

For background color:

/* customizable */
.messagerow-1
{
    background-color: #f0f0f1;
}

/* customizable */
.messagerow-2
{
    background-color: #e9f0f7;
}
For cell content:

/* customizable */
.messagecell
{
    font-family: "Lucida Grande", verdana, sans-serif;
    font-size: 80%;
}
Note that it is customizable (I suppose that the creator of the topic can change these colors).

As far as I could tell, the color rgb(247,247,247) or #e7e7e7 doesn't appear in those CSS files. I find it more likely that the color comes from some os the quote cell colors from DM itself (tried to figure out how css works on DM itself, but I'm not a pro at html/css (I know some only because I create online questionnaires) and it's all a big mess.

because Vam has posted again, showing some interest I will unvote

I'm still not happy with his play, but it isn't enough at the moment for me to say if it's scummy or not, the same with a few other people.

vote Tina

Overall, I agree with Tina in a couple of points: Dap does look a bit focused on just Tina, TG and RTE. And once you start looking for a certain pattern the more you will see it. And I think being open to changing your opinions are a good thing: if you're too focused on one person then you miss everything else.

But I do think the whole thing Tina said about Dap deciding first, or making decisions as he goes like she does is contradictory, so is part of the reason behind my vote, as well as to avoid randoms.

and I know this may be impossible to answer, but if that background or matting, any co,ores background formatting, can happen from copying and pasting from a quote... why have I never seen it happen anywhere else from any other cause?

I live here.

but... has anyone else seen this happen?

can anyone lose reproduce that background format, any background format at all, doing what Tina said, copying from a multiquote, pasting it into the post, and formatting it with italics?

I tried and I couldn't, but can someone else?

Don´t trouble with the formating. Just one more vote and you will see that I told the truth.

Yep, but to sacrify yourself right away doesn´t give any information.

I will most likely be dead soon, and I´m not allowed a bah post,  so I want to thank Mish for a great game. Good luck town.

I can't reproduce this copying bug. In fact, I even tried to copy from an old QT, but I didn't manage to set my reply in a way that to carry styles. You see, I hate WYSIWYG editors, so on any sight I make sure I can post in html code, or as close to it, as possible.

From my experience, I wouldn't find it surprising at all to get some weird formatting like that from some DM bug itself. There are so many things being applied there, it might just happen.

@Cindy: as for the case, I didn't really have the time to read up yet. You might recall I was going to a wedding yesterday. Then I arrived home very late and slept through most of the say. Started with the technical details for these things alawys fascinate me.

I'll do a read-up now, but I find it unlikely that it'd matter. Tina is very close to lynch and speedlynching the runners up would be a big mistake even if we were sure that Tina was speaking the truth (lynching scum is the best, but lynching vanilla town is not the end of thr world).

forget the formatting, the rest of the case?

I want more time to think, that was L-1 and we've got hours

I seem to remember EP did some debunking of the "weird formatting = copy/paste from a QT" in a previous game, and reproduced a different background format from copy/pasting solely from another post on DM.  I think it was a game in the BT a while back.

yeah, I'm not relying on that, I need to think the rest of it through again.

it's a slightly darker blue from a qt, here and at JN... the ones I just checked anyway.

I've never seen it happen but that doesn't mean it can't. and I'm finding csarmi's evidence kind of compelling.

but it says nothing about the rest of the case.

and I got a scum vibe from Tina from very early on but that's not a logical case either.

crap.

reading.

5 hours. I'll hammer if I have to, I know how it looks, and I see the momentum's screwed and I probably screwed it.

I feel like I'm being pushed from a couple different directions and I dont like it but it's my own fault.

and by I'm I guess I mean we're.

if a day and a half is last second, I guess so.

happen any other way here?

I don't watch all the games so I can't be sure I'm seeing a statistically valid sampling.

What's your reasoning on TG, btw, Darthe?

my major face palm was the cloud vote and see ya next Tuesday. a lot of aggressive "not it" there.

do you have reasons you'd care to share?

Posted

Eh, it's last minute considering the day got restarted and extended.

Unfortunately I still haven't had time to catch up what I missed.

I've seen a bunch of people say that Tina's lynch will provide info. I want to know what info it will specially provide. If town, and what will that mean? If not town, what conclusions can be made? Specifically.
