Hider is stronger than Weak Cop in that it cannot be directly killed at Night. This in turn allows it to claim safely and give its targets in advance. In that way, it is a superbly powerful investigative role limited only by the complications that can result from having actions copied onto itself or dying when it investigates scum.

Thanks for finding that, Cloud - I was poking around the Wiki trying to figure out what he could have been referring to.  I was on the wrong track if Hider is what Csarmi is actually claiming... but I can see the role itself as fitting quite well within the theme.

You're welcome :) I also find his role really interesting. I don't think csarmi can give us the names of his targets, because if his target gets NK'd he will also die, and if the Doc would protect csarmi's target then we don't get any info, but they will both stay alive. The only way csarmi can double as an investigative role is if he takes the risk and finds a mafia, and dies himself.

He can say who he will target, but that will only be useful if he is lucky enough to pick a mafia from the start. 

 

The whole strong point of the role gets lost if you claim imo.

But if he doesn't pre-announce his target, Cloud, and he dies, we don't know who the mafia is that he found.  If he doesn't announce his target and lives, he can clear a townie after the fact, but that gives the mafia confirmed townies to pick off as well. Some down sides to that strategy.

 

If he announces his target and they are protected by another role, and Csarmi dies anyway, then we'll actually know something.

and since we have no other reveal, the target could be protected and the hider would gain that protection.

 

until someone claims something else that would draw protection, I don't see why giving us the target ahead of time would be anything but good.

Since I'll be gone this weekend I don't want to accidentally leave my vote on cindy so unvote, vote Dap

 

My early read on Dap was scumhunting, but after he didn't seem to understand why Basel would point out Darthe WIFOMing mafia I don't think he is thinking with a town oriented mind.

 

Reading through, just wanted to point out this stuck out to me.

 

First, the bit about removing his vote on Cindy because he didn't want to "accidentally" leave it on her pinged a bit - overexplaining small obvious things like removing a joke vote or correcting a typo always pings the scumdar.   

 

Will post more as I go, quotes being such a pain in the arse to manage lately.

Hider is a good role, a useful role.  He will confirm a townie each night and find us a mafia member, just by revealing who he targets during the night phase.
