Did You Know:  If you choose to swim in the ocean, you greatly increase your chances of getting attacked by swimming in the hours of Dusk and Dawn. The only 100% prevention from being attack by a shark is to stay our of the water.

Thats a lynh.  scene comming up.

"You can't kill an enganered species!  And this witch hunt you've started is absurd; more species than just your so called man eater will be harmed from this!" Captian Paul shouted for the 10th time, he was red faced from the high blood pressure of arguing with the Mayor for the better part of the evening.

The Mayor was equally outraged at this enviromental wack job and yelled back, "And as I said before, the safety and well being of my community is more imporant that this so called "endangered" species."  To emphasize his point, the Mayor used air quotations around the word endangered.

"The only well fair you're worried about is the financial hit your tourist season will take because a creature is doing what it does naturally in ITS habitat!"

"Doing what it does naturally? Since when are humans on the sharks menu?"

"Since we decided to go into its territory!"

"This was our territory before it decided to swim into here, otherwise we'd have had attackes on our beach before."

"Reguardless of who was here first, placing a bounty on the sharks head is irresponsable and will lead to alot of marine life, not just sharks, being killed!  You can't even know if you've caught the shark responsable."

"Our fisherman here on Amity Island know how to fish without killing everything in sight, we've been doing it for centuries; and we'll know when we've caught the shark when either the killings have stopped or we gut the fish and find human bits in its stomach!"

Cheif Brody slammed his fist on the desk, which startled both of the men. "Look," he said in a calm, quiet tone.  "Arguing over this wont help matters; and comming to blows over this wont sovle a thing.  Mr. Hooper is from one of the leading scientist in the study of sharks; maybe instead of arguing over the same points we've addressed today, we should give him a chance to chime in on the matter."

The Mayor and Captian both looked as if they'd swallowed something sour, but declined to responed in any form other than to glare at one another. Broody nodded to the marine biologist, who adjusted his glasses before speaking.

"Both of you have very valid points.  Mayor, the way you have addressed this issue is highly unadvisable; the Captian is right in that the toll this sort of man hunt will take on the surrounding eco system is dreadful; not to mention that hunting the shark out alone may not solve the issue.  Sharks are migratory animals, the killings may stop for numerous reasons, not just because we've caught the fish responsable."

Captian Paul shot the Mayor a smug, self satisfied look and the Mayor, looking slightly abashed but more so perturperbed, opened his mouth to interupt.  Hooper continued on before he could.

"But, the Mayor is right in that this creature must be destroyed.  The 'Rouge Shark Theory' has proven to be true; much like Rouge Lions in Africa, a shark only goes rouge when it is injured and unable to hunt its normal prey.  So even though this White Shark is infact endangered, killing it will do more good than harm to the species as a whole."

Captian Paul lost his smug look and glared daggers at the marine biologist; knowing his cause was lost on these people and resolving for him and his crew to take matters into their own hands, he stormed out of the office and slammed the door.

(later that day at the Beach)

Hybrid had lived on Amity Island all his life, since he was a boy he'd come to this beach to fly fish in the surf.  In his 50 years of this, he'd never once missed his weekly fishing retreat and he'd be damned if he let some shark scare him out of it this week.  At Dusk he set out to his favorite spot, bypassing a large relective sign which read "Beach closed from Dusk to Dawn, Trespassers will be fined $500 and thrown in jail."  Infact, as Hyrbid saw it; this entire panic was over nothing and he personally believed the Shark had moved on.  Sitll though, he had to admit having the beach to himself during tourist season was a pleasant outcome from this panic and he didn't much mind it.

The sun was just beginning to sink into the horizon as he waked out into the surf, stopping in 4ft of water, baiting his line with shrimp and casting it far out.  Almost immediately he got a bite and reeled in a nice sized snapper, which he hooked through a gill on a line attached to his waist.  He did this three more times before a feeling of unease crept over him.  He felt like he was being watched, and couldn't shake the overwhelming feeling that something was wrong.  Looking over his shoulder towards the beach, he saw a couple walking arm in arm a few feet off and a few college kids playing volley ball at the far end; but nothign to indicate a would be watcher.  Shrugging it off to his mind playing fancies on him, he pushed the feeling of unease away as something bithis line and gave a tug.  He jerked the rod back to set the hook and began to reel in the fish, when a power tug from the line jerked him forward good foot from where he was standing, causing him to loose his footing and slam into the water.

Comming up and gasping for air, he pulled up his rod and reeled in the now slack line.  Whatever had hit the line, it snapped it clean off taking the fly, bait and sinker with it.  Hybrid blinked for a minute, and turned to wade back to shore; the feeling of dread growing heavier and his abrupt splash having drawn the attention of the couple on the beach.  With his back turned to the open ocean, Hybrid didn't see the Dorsal fin breach the surfe 100 yards behind him and heading fast in his direction.  The couple on the beach did and the woman let out a piercing scream, the man running towards Hybrid and yelling for him get out of the water.

Confused by this, Hybrid looked over his shoulder as he continued to wade toward the beach; just in time to see the emotionaless black eye of the Great White shark roll back in its head and the open and outstretched jaws clamp shut on his side, biting him in half.  The shark breached the surface with Hybrid clamped between his jaws and vigerously shook his broad and powerful head back and forth, tearing a sizable chunk from Hybrids side as if he was a rag doll.  Blood and intestines  gushed into the water as the remained of his body was flung back into the surf; Hybrid was dead before his brain registered that he had been attacked.

The screams and the yells drew the attention of the Lifegaurd on duty and he came outside with spear gun in hand just in time to see the body flung in the air; grabbing his surf board, he plunged into the surf without hesitation and paddled to where Hybrids carcass floated.  The lifeguard braced himself and steadied the spear as he awaited for the shark to approach.  This time the Dorsal fin did not breach the surface and the lifegaurd was taken by surprise as the shark bumped his surfboard knocking him into the water.  The spear gun clattered to the floor and the Lifeguard dove to the bottom.  The visibility was more than poor; the water was a scarlet color and cloudy from the attack.  Stuffing down panic the Lifegaurd gropped in the mud and relief washed over him and his hand clamped on the cold metal of the spear gun.

He brought it up just as the Shark swam toward him.  Taking aim at the creatures massive head, the Lifegaurd yelled in the water "Smile you sone of a bitch" which came out as only bubbles and pulled the trigger.  The spear shot forwards nad impelled itself thorugh the sharks massive eye and lodged itself in the sharks brain.

I actually don't mind this.  Anti-town and info on another interest player.  So, since we know that scum wasn't working with either lets see what pops up on a reread.

Are you two attempting to link me to an SK?  Amusing if so.

Regardless, this is more beneficial than I anticipated.  Personally I thought Basel would flip town this game, thus I didn't want a kill.  I stand behind that decision at the time it was made, though in hindsight this is better.

That's why the town is majority vote, and not simply me

Not to the SK, to the fact that you thought he would flip town. Mafia would of wanted to stay away from the lynch (some of them atleast) and get some town cred,

It looks like you drew that straw and its blown up in your face a little

Well nice to get the SK outta the way this early. I did forget to post my thoughts after having caught up though so I am sorry.
