I could either protect or kill someone every night. He could investigate someone each night and pull whoever he wanted into our mason thread.

IMO mafia had no chance this game.

I agree. Sounds like a very generic mafia up against a souped up town and a really unique cult with a lot of power.

 

But I'm not upset about the balance at all. It was his first game and he told us he hadn't gotten it checked out.

All in all I think it was actually going pretty good.

Snow gave me 2 post restrictions in the game, mid-way through day phases. D1 I had to compliment people. This last day I had to stop voting, and could only hammer. I didn't think that last one was fair, as it obstructed some of my strategy, and he did it just because he felt like it. Felt like bastard modding. 

 

The QT refreshed as new each phase, so new invites couldn't see the whole history of dialogue. Snow forgot to re-invite Booboo to our last day, and that where all the sudden tail-chasing suspicion came from on him. He went silent in the QT, we thought, meanwhile he just wasn't invited back.

 

The setup was ambitious, I liked it. Probably balance issues, but hard to over-control that. How the game plays out can also ruin balance quickly.

 

Maybe Booboo was recruited by the maffia? They could recruit survivors (not sure if that was a chance or automatic).

Cop in a QT thread with the doc . . . Mafia got kinda screwed in this one. Of course the death cult sounds insane. Every member could NK/role block? Wow.

 

 

Also any member could be killed automatically by the Crusader (or whatever his name was), just like I was. I was told that undeads couldn't roleblock him either.

Booboo was not recruited onto the Death Cult team, either. The proof for that can be seen on the death cult QTs which Nolder posted a couple days ago.

I was a "Death Cult" Leader.

I could pick people to recruit at night and if they died that night or the next day they would be recruited into my cult. If we had 5 or more members we would win.

I recruited Darthe and Vambram.

Oh and apparently every cultist could roleblock if someone used an ability or kill them if they didn't. Pretty sweet.

Yeah, we knew who the mafia was almost instantly and none of us could be stopped because we were dead.  

 

Game balance wasn't going to happen in this one but it was definitely ambitious and experimental.  Hope Snow is okay.

It wasn't specified that we could only recruit survivors so we tried a lot of people. We were actually going to try one of them tonight I think.

I was the recruiter for mafia.. we didn't get NOBODY... We were definitely screwed as mafia... lol we had no chance.. the cult had a good chance but we couldn't do anything... half the time NONe of our abilities worked... I never did get a recruit, with no idea why. Until now at least... Last time our viewer person didn't get it and we didn't get a kill... it was extremely confusing... 

 

not trying to be overly critical just giving my opinion.. John if you are ok and come back and mod just letting you know so you have an opinion to go by lol... I was about ready to give up because i was a bad guy with an ability but it seemed absolutely and totally worthless....

Yea.

 

Bob (Booboo), Kincaid (Tina) and Demonreach (me) were survivors. If you believe our claims, it's quite evident from the setting why we would be (I've seen you been reading up on characters to game the setting).

Susan was a reporter (I dunno who played her).

 

Lasciel was recruiter for the maffia, she could recruit survivors (not sure which one of them played her, but maybe its noted in the dead thread). Tessa was role cop for the maffia (not sure which one of them played her, but maybe its noted in the dead thread). The maffia also had two goons (to submit NK) and Nicky (makes lynch harder).

 

Town has the mason (you + Harry Dresden + whoever you pull in). Not sure what happens to those you pull into your thread, but if you pull a survivor, his best play will be to help you (and all three were rather strong).

 

The Death Cult converts people by guessing that they will die (they get converted after dying and retain all the information they had, for example the DC knew exatly who the maffia were...).

... I couldn't remember my name earlier, and i was too lazy to go look it up... and we didn't recruit the survivors because there was no way for us to know who were survivors and who in here could be recruited... sorry it was so obvious to you after you were told exactly what was going on

Peace even viewed Tina using his role cop ability and only got a result of mercenary not survivor as well. So that wasn't particularly helpful. I didn't see the recruiters role pm so I don't know where it said we could recruit survivors specifically. Without that information the pool of recruiting attempts that would result in failure were very large.
