I'd just like to point out that some people in the past have complained that games start too fast. That there should be good day 1 banter before we all get "serious."

Well, this game has had 2 solid days with only 3 pages of posts. So, forgive me if in the future I jump down anyone's throat who complains about the seriousness of day 1 play.

Incidentally, I don't really think much serious gameplay has really gone on either, been mainly spam for the most part

Vote Tina tho

She's a bit too aggressive out the gate this game, and her early linking of me and BG is troubling.

This game I´m all for killing inactive players right from the start. But until we know who they are I will have a close eye on the onion smelling boys.

This post specifically is what I meant when I said a bit too aggressive. She's all for killing inactives this game huh. Plus she will be "keeping an eye" on me and BG, and while I don't know BG's alignment this game I know we are both good scumhunters when town. And yes, I am town this game. So discrediting two known good scumhunters isn't that great to me tbh

Oh, you ninja.

Are you up for lynching inactives, Des?

I never really like lynching inactives early into the game. Their lynches provide little info relative to other players actively playing, there is a danger of lynching a power role that is trying to lurk to escape NK's, and inactives can possibly be handled by the mod in future phases, so why waste a lynch on them so early?

Posted

To let them who actually plays play? Inactivity hurts town. How many games have you not seen people post in the end of the day just to bandwagon who has got the most votes because there is not much time for anything else?

Posted

Of course inactivity is bad, but still there are better tools for counteracting that than just lynching them off the bat. The mod obviously has some part, and can either poke, replace, or mod kill at their discretion.

If someone has survived several days and is still lurking, and the mod doesn't seem interested in taking action on that person, then I have no problem lynching or at least pressuring that person.

But lynching an inactive early on hurts the town more IMO. Not only do you have the risk of lynching a power role, but the early part of the game needs to be spent collecting as much info as possible, to use as the game goes on. This means pressuring multiple people getting some claims out, and then either securing a lynch or no lynching if that is an option.

At that point town has plenty of info at its disposal, the power roles have a much better idea how to use their NA's, and in general the scum hunt can be see off on a strong foot.

Lynch an inactive day 1, and you don't get any of that. The start of each day begins with more and more uncertainty, and lot of people complaining about activity and such

Tina seems to be replying pretty calmly at least. This is unrelated but am I one of the only people here who doesn't know the theme well at all?

Basel said in the sign up thread he hadn't read the book... And I think Tina also said she didn't know it.

I loved this book when I was younger, so I kinda know the theme. Pretty sure I've forgotten how really awesome this book is tho

Also, I agree with Despo about lynching inactives day one. I know I haven't said much this game. I plan on reading through and posting thoughts tonight.

The main characters are kids, so it's primarily a children's book... but i still love it. I reread the series a couple of years ago.
