I have no idea how old you are Des. You know I love ya, we have a ton of interests in common, but you have no idea how much your priorities will change from 25-35, especially when little Des's appear. I used to be you, exactly you. Without the bass skills, but the social skills. And I had your idealism. But working and seeing how the fruits of my labor didn't benefit me, but others, ran my idealism right down the drain.

I'm 26 btw (27 in a couple of months), but I do kinda have a lil' Des already . It's not mine biologically speaking, but she calls me Daddy so it's all good

 

And I'm not trying to say you're bitter and jaded and stuff, but I do think too many people think that just because they lose passion for the things they used to care about, that they have to go in the opposite direction. I'm sure you still have a lil' idealist in you Ishy, and so did your Dad when he told you that otherwise he wouldn't have talked about having heart. And yes, reality does tend to pound you into submission on a long enough time line, but there's no count so it's never too late to get back off the mat and start throwing haymakers!
