Ever since I hammered Hoof a Day 1 a long time ago, just to prevent Random, I've sworn off of it unless I had reason to be ok with it at least. He turned up either Doc or Cop... can't remember which.

Imo, if a power role is about to be lynched, and they don't reveal, then that's on them. (honestly, random lynch has more chance to hit power role than controlled) Therefore I can't agree with not hammering a person because you don't think they're scummy. Information>Scumminess Day 1.

All that said, that would be a rather risky play for the scum so early on and indeed, you did post that as opposed to staying silent, so I'm not inclined to pin that on you as scummy behavior.

Meta alert as well: I think we stand to learn more from Nolder alive too as we learn more about his intentions. He's much more talkative than most.

I'm glad I played a game with him on my first game before he up and disappeared from Mafia around here.

I'm gonna go ahead and end the Night Phase a little early, since I have everything and I'm probably going to be taking an exam around when the deadline hits. I'll have results in a bit.

**edit**

Okay, just kidding, something came up really suddenly so I'm taking another exam atm. XD Results as soon as I'm done with that.

You sleep restlessly, plagued by nightmares of grasping claws and bloody faces. You run from foul creatures, benevolent friends, and nothing at all, but you never feel safe. You just keep running.

When you wake, the sun is playing merrily on your face, and you hear a bird chirping somewhere nearby. You grin broadly, realizing you were only dreaming. And, judging by the weather, today is going to be an excellent day.

As you go about readying yourself, you can't help but feel that something isn't quite right. You try to shrug it off, but the feeling of wrongness persists. Just as you're about to go mad from this faceless anxiety, two things strike you, as if with a hammer.

First of all, you realize that the forge is silent.

And as you make that realization, you hear a terrible scream.

Rushing outside, not even fully dressed, it all comes back to you with a horrible rush as you see the other houses in Holdswell spewing villagers. Everyone looks around fearfully, a bit disoriented, and then the scream comes again.

You follow it apprehensively, dread growing ever stronger, until you reach the forge. The very place you were only just thinking of. The place that, in a way, defines Holdswell from day to day.

The blacksmith's wife is kneeling on the ground outside the forge, arms around her head, and it is from her that the scream is emanating. Her eyes are squeezed shut, but tears are already wetting the ground under her as she takes a ragged breath and lets out another throat-tearing scream. You think she might be saying "No!" but you're not sure.... Her grief seems beyond words, somehow.

You think you know what you'll find, but you push forward to the forge anyway and peer inside. Your eyes take a moment to adjust to the darkness and shadow, but when they do, you stumble away and turn aside to vomit.

You hear other villagers crying out and emptying their stomachs as they, too, see what you have seen, and what the blacksmith's wife is screaming about.

Mikel, the blacksmith, has been nailed to the wall of the forge. His thickest nails are driven carelessly through his shoulders, his ankles, his thighs, his stomach, his hands, and his eyes. Some stick out halfway from various places on his body, and you would wonder how you slept through his screams, but his throat has been cut out, leading you to believe he probably wasn't alive when the nails stabbed through his flesh and bones. The small amount of blood staining the wall and floor seems to confirm that suspicion.

You watch in a daze as some of the villagers start to clean up, and a couple of women take the still-screaming wife of the blacksmith back to her house.

The grave hasn't been dug yet, but everyone congregates in the center of the village yet again, with a now-silent Samuel watching you all. You feel a fierce determination to find the monsters responsible for this atrocity, and you shove aside your horror. There is work to be done.

BG, MIKEL (Blacksmith)--VANILLA VILLAGER is dead.

It is now Day 2.

With 10 alive, it takes 6 to lynch.

Deadline is Sunday, December 18th at 2 PM CST.
