I thought your mistake was more innocuous. This has me less sure. I'll explain:

 

It is my understanding from my role PM that town are infected and that mafia are not. Blackhoof appears not to have known this, indicating that he has a different win condition or wasn't given the same info. Thus, Hoof isn't town.
