Does life end with death? Do you go to heavan? Hell? Is there an afterlife of eternal happiness or does your disembodied spirit wander the earth for all eternity?

 

No-one knows for certain what happens when you die, but in the town of Mortberg, I do. In this town, the dead dont stay dead fo long. For years the town has been under a curse by a witch, so that any who die merely return as restless spirits to plague their family and friends.

 

Many have tried to dispel this curse, from priests and guru's to faith healers and imams. All failed, until Father Jordor arrived. Father Jordor and his Acolyte, Symon, were skilled in the arts of banishing or even resurrecting the dead. Almost overnight, many of the ghosts were either forever at peace or returned to their earthly bodies.

 

However, Holy Father Jordor was not the only one who had an interest in the restless dead.

 

The infamous Necromancer, Kar'lyr the Boneseer, had been intrigued by the town of Mortberg for a long time, but had only recently been able to travel there. He hopes to use his powers to exploit the unquiet dead of Mortberg, and destroy his arch-nemesis- Father Jordor.

 

Sorcerors, Witches, Satanic Warlocks and a plethora of dark and dastardly villains hacve descended upon Mortberg, eager to exploit the dead and oppress the living, all vying for control of this otherworldly location. Holy Father Jordor, realising the threat, has enlisted an army of psychics, clairvoyents, priests and preachers to combat this unholy menace, and save the spirits of Mortberg from the predations of Kar'lyr and his ilk.

 

It will take faith, steely resolution and unbreakable resolve to face this dark force and beat back the coming shadow. Previously the servants of shadow were weak and nearly powerless, but by using the undead ghosts of Mortberg, there is no limit to what they can do. If the servants of the Devil triumph, the world will fall into the flaming hands of Satan himself.

 

This is a game that is quite different than any other game, in this game- the dead are not really dead! Upon death, a player will become a Ghost. Ghosts may not vote or perform any actions at Night, and they must post in blue for easy identification. Other than that they are a normal player.

 

Ghosts may also be Banished (so that they are permanently dead) or Resurrected (so that they come back to full life). Alignments and Roles are also not revealed upon death, but they may be revealed at a later date depending on the Coroner. In this game, do not assume that the bad guys will always stay bad, or that good guys always stay good. Assume nothing about Ghosts, death changes people in ways that cannot be foretold, and many who have been resurrected are not the same people that they were in life.

 

This game will be strange, perhaps the strangest you have ever played. Alignments will change, death means little and life is almost expendable.

Well, the idea is that your game does not end upon death. Ghosts can be resurrected at any time through multiple means, so they are expected to keep up activity as if they were alive. Roles are not revealed upon death so even a dead scum should pretend to be town in the hopes someone will resurrect him.

Well, the idea is that your game does not end upon death. Ghosts can be resurrected at any time through multiple means, so they are expected to keep up activity as if they were alive. Roles are not revealed upon death so even a dead scum should pretend to be town in the hopes someone will resurrect him.

how long do you expect this game to last (IRL days)?

if everyone is allowed to continually talk it seems like it might be harder to achieve a consensus on who to lynch in later days than most other games

 

also make me a serial killer who can only kill ghosts please

I'm not sure actually. Lots of deaths will occur and ghosts can be banished, so gradually the game will get smaller. It will last longer than ordinary, though.
