Scenes are just flavorful, and I'll use them when I'm board. Several random scenes together wil usually mean a deadline is about to kick in. Activity determines length of days, so the power is with the players.

 

And Feel free to tell me what you think of the scenes.

Malaz City, the heart of the most powerful empire the world has ever known. People rush by and never really see anything. Maybe they've trained themselves to be blind and ignorant. Maybe they've put all their faith in gods and they think they can purchase sanctuary with two silvers and a smile. But that was never the case. The world revolves around cold facts and hard logic. One of those is that everyone must pass through hoods gates, the poor, the rich, pompous kings and forgotten gods, they've all got to pass and they all have a fate waiting them. No this was a world for the cold and decisive, and this night the temples would bleed, the buildings would tremble and bend, the roads would break, and the oceans would rise and fall. This was a night for blood, this was a season for murders, this was the year of the mortal, and the age to his cruelties.

 

I like this, oh Mod god.

The Malazan world is rich with a plethora of gods, goddesses, ascendants, and then normal mortals whom wish that the supernaturals would just leave the normal people alone. In that scene, where mortals are beginning to rise up is just perfect for a Malazan mafia game.

I said, "usually honorable." But, I do agree that I would rather not be Oponn's tool. But how many of us mortals are powerful enough to resist the will and the schemes of the gods?
