This is why I can't stand when people bring RL issues into mafia. I put forth cases on two people that have mentioned RL stuff, and now when they are defending, they lean on the RL issues they brought up as grounds for dismissal of my case... when my case was not built upon any variable influenced by their RL.

If I've done that, I didn't mean to. Like I said, fire away at me today if you have any concerns. I'll be around on and off for the next few hours.

My cases on them had NOTHING to do with their RL issues. Yet they cry RL foul when I case them. My cases are built on game content, anyone not seeing that is full of bologna.

 

My case on you is centered around your mission to lynch Jack, and the impression you gave me in the QT that you did not like my plan... AND more importantly the fact that Conquest was on board, then I informed you about it, and he hasn't replied to me since. Do the math, and look at it from my side... I tried to hatch something to clear the 3 of us, you were suspect to me, I told him and he was in, I told you and he cut me off.

 

To me, it appears you converted him and were hoping I wouldn't figure out what's going on until after maybe you converted me.

 

At the same time I've not been able to use any of my roles - so its very obvious to me I'm being roleblocked. ONLY someone from my team would know to roleblock me at this point... if not a teammate, then the other people I'm casing must be scum... or else why would someone block me?

 

That is why my list is in the order it is.

Alright, on re-read, I'm sticking to my guns with Christine and Nolder, both have maneuvered around cases on scum, and pinged me enough to warrant a lynch.

 

From the re-read I just did. Song is someone else that sticks out to me a bit, but that is a gut feeling.

 

As scummy as Jack can be, his exchange with Nolder and Blackhoof have me feeling pretty good about him. Which makes me really question Lily, as I said yesterday the other side of that debate between Lily and Jack is that if Jack is telling the truth, it would be worth it for one of the vampires to go all out to get him lynched. Lily might have been the one who stuck her neck out trying to eliminate the Werewolf CL, if that is what Jack is.

 

Now my dilemma... Lily is one of my teammates. As soon as she pinged me, I approached my other teammate Conquest with a plan to vet myself and Lily, and then eventually Conquest, using our roles. Conquest agreed. I told Lily about it. Asked Lily in thread if she was scum, she said "No."

 

Then they went dark. I sent Conquest a PM and I know he read it last night, but he won't respond. In our Moscow Team QT, neither of them would respond to me - until today Lily did, right after I made the post above about my teammates not talking to me.

 

I may have gotten all my good reads for scum out of my system, and this may be straight paranoia... but... I am thinking Lily was converted early in the game, she's a big-timer here at DM and a smart conversion choice, and when I hatched the plan to vet her, she/scum had no choice but to convert Conquest too.

I made a quick read through. I´m on my way to the cinema and won´t be back until tomorrow. But when I get back I would like to know - John, is there anything in this post you would like to change. Maybe you did a mistake that you would like to clear up?

I can see your logic there. Honestly, John, anyone you've FOSed could have roleblocked you. You are the loudest and most aggressive player in the game. (Which is not a criticism. I like your style - usually.)

 

I don't know how often the vamps can recruit but I was clean in the fast game, and then you're suggesting I was converted and then converted ConQuest? If they're recruiting that fast, we're in big trouble.

 

You've convinced me that something could be up with him, though. I can put him on my list of people I'd be willing to vote, if we can't get a majority on Nolder.

Don't like this Nolder wagon, but John has a point about JLM linking him and Nolder. Then again, maybe she was just stirring the pot. Still leaning town on both Nolder and John but I will vote to avoid conversion if I need to. When is the deadline?

Don't worry about it - no love lost. I'm bored with this game right now. I'm spending a lot of time breaking down gameplay, and posts, and all people keep saying to me is that I need to be nice (while other people are calling me names and tell me screw myself) and to stop attacking RL stuff (which I'm not doing) even though the mod said dont' bring that stuff up...

 

It seems there's a double-standard or two at play here.

Last I checked, it was in the rules that the no majority penalty was a vamp conversion. I already stated my opinion on you and Nolder. As for my opinion on others, I have mixed feelings and am keeping my own counsel until I get them sorted out.

There is no way of knowing the frequency at which Vampires can convert, since its possible that they purchased the Enhancer role.

 

I find Wombat's familiarity with the no lynch penalty to be alarming. I had no idea that was in the rules. I'm happy to come back to voting Nolder, but... for now:

Trust me..."

1. A summary of what they think isgoing on. I've got some reading to do to getcaught up, and some of this might be established game knowledge at this point.I'm not sure... anyway, I believe that there are multiple teams of Vampirehunters, as you say. I believe that there is probably a 3rd party or two.Werewolf? Something more gruesome? I dunno. Part of me thinks that the actualvampires don't know who they are... I do think that the vampires started with2-3 players on their team.

 

2. A listing of who they think is avampire. My top 4 for vampires when I left forthe lake on Saturday were JLM, Verbal, Blackhoof and Nolder. You've played withme before, you know I don't always FOS and vote those I think are scum, so afew of the people I pressed was more an example of pressuring and making a"loud" case to see if my scum suspects would try jumping behind me.

 

3. Doubts or questions you have aboutyour team-mates. This is the least scummy I think Lily has ever seemed to me. Whenever I think she's scummy, she is town. Her lack ofscumminess and vocal role as a leader in the game is either because she's morein her element here at DM, or because she's scum.

 

4. Anything else of value that youthink will benefit you and your win condition. You should modkill the next personthat makes the "you placed a vote, therefore you are scum" case. Itsentry-level mafia at best. :)

I can't see DPR allowing two conversions per hour. That seems way off balance. But I could be wrong, I suppose. Balance isn't my strongest area as a mod.

The thing is, it's good to be understanding of people having RL issues, but we can't just totally back off a person and say, well, right, you're having RL stuff, so I'm not going to fod you or vote you or even consider you as a suspect. John is right that his cases don't appear to have anything to do with RL stuff. It's not hateful for him to case someone. It is a mafia game.

 

If we were to lynch someone without giving them a chance to speak, when we knew they weren't going to be around...that's usually not a good idea. But just casing and voting someone, even if they said they might be absent. That's not hateful, it's just playing the game.

Couldn't be because you're a very vocal and clearly astute player that any scum might want to prevent from taking action, could it?

 

I will likely jump on this Nolder wagon, but I'd like to reread some things first.
