I am never a fan of a no lynch, but that might be because I have never seen it work in favor of the town. It always seems like giving scum a free shot. I'd rather have a lynch based on/resulting in more information.

Speaking of Verbal.. I am VERY tempted to share a convo with you all that I just sent him. My friend Kari and I were talking about candy but when I realized how bad the convo sounded we both laughed hysterically. It might be edging the pg 13 line a bit much though so I'll share it only if you all really wanna hear it.

It may come in useful near end game, where the town can't afford to lose another person in hoping they can find a Mafia player in the night. It could cost them the game if they went with a lynch. However on Day 1.

According to strict game theory there is only one situation in Mafia in which 'No Vote' makes sense. It requires 3 things. There is precisely two more non-mafia than mafia, there is a finder in play, and the finder does not currently know any mafia in play. In this situation if the town guesses wrong, mafia win. If the town does not lynch it gives the finder a chance to locate a mafia at little risk, making it an acceptable choice. It is a stop-gap strategy. However in a complex game, all three criteria are difficult to determine.

 

 

Anyways. Rather than being random, I'd like to cast my Day 1 vote for something productive - forming a huge vote loop! AlannaLynn
