Wheel of Time Mafia Game Thread

Although a bit slanted perhaps by some scar tissue at the hands of my style, Verbal's assessment of my playstyle is close to accurate. I get reactions from folks and then use logic to dissect their reactions. Verbal may have been on to my logic trap in that Christmas Mafia game, but like Drew here, he still sprung it and it resulted in his mafia team losing.

 

My style is only distracting to those players who do not think for themselves. Nearly everyone in this game has been forming their own conclusions, so to argue that I am leading anyone is an obvious attempt at mudslinging.

 

We need to build a lynch on the player whose lynch will give us the most information either way:

 

Curtdragon - most suspicious from his overreaction to being on the list of possible mafia, and his subsequent posts have been laser-focused on one thing (discredit/lynch Mynd). Scum don't focus on people's casing they only post to discredit them. He hasn't done any casing of his own and newbie or not, he cannot back up his accusations.

 

Adella - lynching her will help either confirm of deny BG's mason team. She hasn't been very active and their alleged third mason team member remains incognito.

 

DrewoftheRushes - He sounded the alarm on my gambit before I could fully spring it. The moment I mentioned that I had targeted Drew, he freaked out. I was still casing CurtDragon and building a lynch on him at that point, so there was no need for him to react like that unless that was part of the mafia plan the whole time.

 

Aemon - the naive finder thing gives me pause. Unless the mod is keeping something from me, I have a full tilt power, as well as Vambram. It doesn't make sense that Aemon would be nerfed while Vam and I were not.

 

Those our the four options that I see. I can go with any of those four right now with confidence that we are doing the right thing for the town.

I think Mynd is innocent actually. Reading last night I didnt and was considering voting him but reading this mornings posts I do think he is innocent. Im leaning towards Drew at this stage but curt is right up there. I dont like the idea of an Adella lynch though. I get the info it would give but I dont find her that scummy and I dont find BG that scummy at this point.

 

Oh and the name thing. You keep calling him Graendal mynd but since none of us know our names would the scum know there's? It could be pretty obvious to work out or it could be pretty confusing if you dont know the books as well as you think.

BG thanked Mynd for finally posting something that was helpful. This is the start of what he had been hoping to hear from Mynd and goes a long way to helping BG's opinion. Still, Bg wondered why Mynd suspected Drew in the first place.

I still see you exaggerating on people's reactions, but I get your point. As the deadline is looming, I'll vote with you as I think you're town.

As confusing as Mynd has been, I don't suspect him at the moment. His answers to...I think it was Drew's?...questions were reasonable to me, and answered some of my own wonderings.

 

My vote will be for Curt. Between him and Drew, I find him more scummy. It's just a general feeling, but Drew seems to me like he's been helpful to the town, and I don't want to vote for him just because of the roleblock.

I have to agree with BG, that was a much better post mynd, and not so off the wall.

 

I have to say out of the list you have given, Curt would probably give more info. Adella may prove BG is innocent, but that doesn't do much else, she has a much higher chance of being innocent than the others.

Mynd has been posting much more sensibly today, but he's still good at loading every small phrase with accusations. Saying that I "freaked out" is as accurate as saying Curt "freaked out" or that bg is "laser-focused." I know that if I had ignored your accusation, it was very unlikely a bandwagon lynch would have started for me. But I didn't ignore it, I took a risk to do some scumhunting. That's not freaking out, that's good mafia, and I caught you in either a huge townie mistake or a bad mafia gambit.

 

My vote's still on Mynd. I'm willing to change it based on what everyone's said about Mynd's playing style, but in any case we need something fast.

I just want to point out that by the time I'll come back home tomorrow from uni, I'm pretty sure the deadline will pass. If I'll manage to slip in just before it, I'll support majority, but if I don't... my vote stays on Curt.

This is why people think you're scummy, Curt. Town usually aren't concerned about being on a list with 17 other people. But newb mafia might think, oh crap I need to discredit this now before they lynch me!

BG had complained about Mynd and his accusations of Curt being blown out of proportion, based upon Curt's previous posts. Unfortunately, Curt decided to prove BG wrong and actually overreact wildly to Mynd at an odd time. For it wasn't a list of names we suspected that Mynd had compiled, but a list of every single person who didn't have an alibi of some sort. No, Mynd's list was a valid list. It was every single player who didn't have even a scrap of evidence that could prove them Town.

 

After all that had been said, Curt damned himself and proved Mynd's arguments with an actual overreaction.

Due to the testimonies that many in the town, as well as another in BG's mason team who had played with Mynd before, had given of Mynd's play style, BG was reluctantly willing to put off his suspicions once more until a future date.

 

This did not mean BG felt Mynd was town for sure. Only that the testimonies had appeased BG for now. So he UNVOTE: VOTE CURT

As you all remember, I am the Dragon Reborn, and thus I am suspicious of other claimants as scum.

 

However, the practical side of me sees the best chance at a lynch would be to UNVOTE and VOTE CURT.

Curt's defense of himself as not scum sounded like a last-ditch effort to prevent a Lynch from a mafia scum who's been made.

 

Mynd, if Curt flips town, I will reconsider the scumitude of your stance.
